Speaker A:

Did you know that 77.5% of business owners say they use email marketing in their business, but only 4% of them consider it their number one lead source?

Speaker A:

I see this time and time again.

Speaker A:

And if you are one of those who is wondering why your email list is not converting, even though you feel like you're doing all of the right things, you're not alone.

Speaker A:

So today we're going to be pulling back the curtains on some of the silent sales killers that are draining your list and how to fix them.

Speaker A:

Welcome back to another episode of the Deeply Rooted Business Podcast.

Speaker A:

I'm here doing a solo episode about my favorite topic, email marketing.

Speaker A:

So let's go ahead and dive in the number one silent sales killer.

Speaker A:

And if you follow me on social media or on my email list, you know that it is who you bring into your list.

Speaker A:

I very plainly say it.

Speaker A:

Trash in, trash out.

Speaker A:

Not saying anybody that's opting in this trash.

Speaker A:

But we need to make sure that we have the most aligned people entering in our list if we're looking for conversions.

Speaker A:

This means focusing on getting 10,000 subscribers or a certain amount of vanity numbers is kind of pointless because one subscriber, one aligned subscriber is worth more than 100 unaligned ones.

Speaker A:

It's really important to understand that having a lead magnet that is strategic and targeted towards getting specific people into your lead magnet or into your email list is absolutely crucial for having an email list that actually converts.

Speaker A:

This is something that I see time and time again where we just want to get everybody and anybody there will run ads, we'll spend hundreds of dollars just to get a certain number of people on our list.

Speaker A:

But what happens to that is that our list quality goes down, our conversions go down.

Speaker A:

We end up having kind of a very chaotic experience because we then don't know who to target, what messages to send, and it really is just a mess that is existing on your email list.

Speaker A:

So it pretty much boils down to a very targeted and aligned lead magnet.

Speaker A:

Now, I used to have a product called the Aligned Lead Magnet Formula.

Speaker A:

And I'll give you a little spoiler, it is now something new.

Speaker A:

It's the exact same program, but I have rolled it into a very comprehensive thing because what I was seeing is that a lot of people were creating these really amazing lead magnets that were calling people in and converting them from the start, but they were missing these core components towards the end of it.

Speaker A:

So I'll tell you a little bit more about that later.

Speaker A:

But when it comes to your lead Magnet.

Speaker A:

It's important to align it to your offer suite.

Speaker A:

When it comes to having somebody flow in, you need to give them that next obvious step.

Speaker A:

And that is something that's probably the biggest gap that I see is that when you're having somebody come into your list, you either ghost them and don't send them a welcome or you push them to a product that they're not even like looking for or aligned with or anything of the sort.

Speaker A:

So really making sure the gap is closed between like who's coming in and what you can offer them.

Speaker A:

So really making sure that you understand the difference between followers and leads.

Speaker A:

And that's going to be what kind of closes this silent sales killer, which is low quality people on your list subscribers.

Speaker A:

The second 1/2 sales killer is a set it and forget it mentality.

Speaker A:

There is a myth that once you have your automation set up or once you have your sequences set up that you can just leave it on autopilot.

Speaker A:

You can go to the beach and drink margaritas and all of these things and you're going to have endless sales coming in.

Speaker A:

That is so far from the truth when it comes to having really high converting email lists.

Speaker A:

This is you looking at your sales sequences and your newsletter sends and everything from a metrics perspective and looking at how you can optimize and improve it.

Speaker A:

These are really important because it means you're revisiting your subject lines and making sure you're optimized for a higher open rate.

Speaker A:

You're looking at which call to actions are working and which ones aren't working and really looking at overall your customer journey and how it improves the results over all of your conversions.

Speaker A:

Marketing is an experiment.

Speaker A:

If anybody is online trying to sell you the magic key for this or for that, just know that your customers and your ideal clients are completely different than theirs.

Speaker A:

Your internal workings of your business are completely different from that person that's launching and making $10,000 without even doing anything.

Speaker A:

It really is nuanced down to your business.

Speaker A:

So marketing is experiment.

Speaker A:

Always go in and validate your assumptions.

Speaker A:

If it's not working, tweak it until it does.

Speaker A:

That is the biggest thing that you can take away.

Speaker A:

One of the things that I would say for your set it and forget it gap here is to look at the last 4, 5 emails and look at kind of what like just put your like scientist had on what subject lines performed higher?

Speaker A:

What structure of those subject lines.

Speaker A:

Was it a how to?

Speaker A:

Was it a list based?

Speaker A:

Was it a question?

Speaker A:

What topics did they click on More which content was the most engaged with?

Speaker A:

These are like the initial scientific discoveries that you're going to be making about your audience and then taking those and repeating them onto your next subject line or into your next content and seeing, okay, did this, did this like replicate the initial result?

Speaker A:

Did they still engage higher with this topic versus this topic?

Speaker A:

Those are the ways that you can slowly optimize your email list in a way that's really going to set it up for conversion versus kind of just have people going through the motions inside of it.

Speaker A:

Once you have it converting really well, then go onto the beach and enjoy your Margaret.

Speaker A:

The third sales killer is really trying to be everyone, everything to everyone.

Speaker A:

This is something that I see so much where people are just trying to, you know, throw multiple offers, throw everybody that's at various stages of awareness into one kind of messy sequence.

Speaker A:

Giving somebody the same exact email regardless of what pain point they have entered into your list at.

Speaker A:

This is why segmentation and targeted sequences result in higher conversions.

Speaker A:

It's because you're calling and speaking to them about exactly what they want to hear.

Speaker A:

When you have somebody coming into your list and you're kind of just throwing everything at them, you really give them that kind of like analysis paralysis.

Speaker A:

You create confusion and a lot of those things lead to people either just abandoning or being like, yeah, no, this isn't clear, I am not taking any action here.

Speaker A:

So you want to avoid that and really focus on calling the right people in.

Speaker A:

Like we talked about in in sales killer number one, call the right people in, give them the correct curated journey and really like target down that message.

Speaker A:

I used to say in some of my trainings that email marketing works because it's the right message to the right person at the right time.

Speaker A:

Talking about, you know, targeted messaging, using automation and segmentation, those three com like combined are really what makes a high converting email list.

Speaker A:

And this is not like, this isn't just like fluff, right?

Speaker A:

I have clients who are converting 25 to 30% of their email list every single time outside of launch cycles.

Speaker A:

These are people that have their lead magnets so targeted that they are getting people coming in.

Speaker A:

And we're looking at their opt ins and we're looking at their conversions and it's so low key but it's working and it's because it's optimized and it's targeted and it's based off of this very specific formula of bringing the right people in, hitting them with the right message and then connecting things with automation.

Speaker A:

So if you've kind of caught yourself in this bucket where you're like, okay, maybe I am trying to be everything to everyone.

Speaker A:

I want you to ask yourself, like, when you're bringing somebody into your list, where is this subscriber in their journey?

Speaker A:

Like, what are they looking into?

Speaker A:

What are they researching for their problem?

Speaker A:

What is their next obvious step?

Speaker A:

And how does it connect to your overall offer suite?

Speaker A:

These are the questions that you kind of have to ask so that you can correctly navigate where your email list should be pushing them and doing all of the things.

Speaker A:

So if you're sitting here and you're saying yes, you're nodding your head and you're being like, okay, I've seen that I'm doing the wrong lead magnet that I'm doing.

Speaker A:

You know, I don't have my sequences optimized, I've left it and I forgot about it.

Speaker A:

And all of these mistakes are kind of like you're sitting there being like, yes, I have such good news.

Speaker A:

When you fix these silent killers, your email list becomes a conversion machine and it brings in those sales so much more predictably.

Speaker A:

Which means that you can stop posting a hundred pieces of content on social media or you can stop launching every other month.

Speaker A:

There's so many different ways that an email list that converts consistently and predictably can help your business in a way.

Speaker A:

And this is exactly why I've created the email first essentials.

Speaker A:

It is now a live like integration kit that you can take where you learn exactly how to attract, how to nurture and how to convert and then implement it.

Speaker A:

It is designed to help you build your email ecosystem, to attract those proper leads, to attract those aligned leads, to nurture them in a way that's like, you don't have to be an email marketing genius.

Speaker A:

And how to convert them without the overwhelm and with consistency and peace in your business, I've created these very short, actionable trainings.

Speaker A:

The I've given you a plug and play planner to help you create a email first sales system that allows your content to fuel your email list.

Speaker A:

And I've even loaded up a custom copywriter chat GPT link so that you can write your copy and get to like 60% in one weekend versus sitting there and being like what do I say and how do I say it?

Speaker A:

I've like literally brain dumped everything into this platform so that you can create your email first ecosystem with the bare essentials.

Speaker A:

These are truly the things that you need.

Speaker A:

I'll break down the core flows that every single business owner needs for consistent, predictable conversions.

Speaker A:

And I'll explain to you why they work because that's the most important part.

Speaker A:

You have to be under, have to be able to repeat back what's working and what's not working in your business and not just go through the motions.

Speaker A:

So this will be forever open.

Speaker A:

I'm never closing the doors to this.

Speaker A:

Hopefully it is including the align Leads formula that was helping people create these 15 25% conversion rates from their lead magnets.

Speaker A:

I've given you my align lead formula, all of those lead magnet meet lead magnet examples that were included in the align leads formula as well.

Speaker A:

And it allows you to really just put your email list to work and it have consistent now it can start pulling the weight in your business and support you with calm, predictable conversions.

Speaker A:

This is it.

Speaker A:

So it's something I've been working on for a while.

Speaker A:

It is now available.

Speaker A:

You can go grab it in the show notes and let me know what you think if you end up jumping in.

Speaker A:

So let's do a quick recap.

Speaker A:

Three silent killers that are killing your business.

Speaker A:

Trash in, trash out.

Speaker A:

Quit bringing people onto your email list that will never convert.

Speaker A:

Number two, set it and forget it.

Speaker A:

You're literally creating automations and never returning back to optimize and fix them.

Speaker A:

And then third, you're trying to be everything to everyone.

Speaker A:

This is something to remember that really targeted specific messaging is what works.

Speaker A:

Hit the bullseye and then the rest will kind of follow around the outside of it.

Speaker A:

Remember, your email list is not failing.

Speaker A:

It just needs a little bit of intentional love.

Speaker A:

Email lists are truly the number one place that you can curate the experience for your lead outside of the noise of any social media, outside of the noise of any algorithm, which is important.

Speaker A:

And these small shifts make the difference.

Speaker A:

And I'll teach you exactly how to do it.

Speaker A:

So if you loved this episode, share it with a fellow business owner who also is ready to ditch the hustle and embrace a calmer, more predictable way to convert your sales and convert your leads.

Speaker A:

Until next time, I am rooting for you.
