Shownotes

I've a lovely guest to finish the week. It's Donna Fraser who has just been awarded an OBE in the New Year.

Donna's making a big contribution to UK Athletics as its lead in Equality, Diversity and Engagement. She is full of enthusiasm and warmth and brings a lifetime of competitive experience.

So it's interesting to hear her views on the disruption to training schedules and uncertainty around the Games. She also brings a wealth of knowledge about racing. And we relive the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 and the 400m final, won by Donna's training partner and Australian idol Cathy Freeman. Donna finished 4th but could well have had a medal had she stuck to her race plan.

And during lockdown, she's been leading exercise classes for her street! A great example of bringing a community together.

Destination Tokyo comes out Monday to Friday - with each episode around ten minutes. I'll be talking to those involved in the Olympics and Paralympics. I'm also using the podcasts to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Centres. You can find details here
