Needless to say, we are CONFLICTED about this series. If your only exposure to Tamora Pierce is the Song of the Lioness books, "Wild Magic" is set in the same world and features many of the same characters; HOWEVER, the heroine is 13 years old in Wild Magic and she ends up in a romantic relationship with her mentor/teacher in book 4 ("In the Realms of the Gods"). We get into this for quite a while at the start of the episode, so skip to about 21 minutes in for the actual story.
