Shownotes

Chosen Kin is back with four years of Renaissance, a Real Housewives of Atlanta debrief, and a Cheesecake Factory theory that explains the entire Amanda Seales situation. Bia and Harry dive into the Insecure anniversary tour discourse, but the real conversation is about burned bridges. When someone falls out with a group, what's a fair consequence and what's just punishment? They get into accountability, who actually counts as a legacy character, and why divesting from celebrity doesn't come with celebrity perks.

Speaker A:

Hello.

Speaker A:

Hello.

Speaker A:

I am harry.

Speaker B:

I am bia.

Speaker B:

And we are chosen kin.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

Another episode lives to make it to the ether of the Internet.

Speaker A:

How episode is making it in.

Speaker A:

I am excited.

Speaker A:

I am thrilled to be back in this, you know, virtual space with you.

Speaker A:

Even though we were just together a couple last weekend.

Speaker B:

Barely.

Speaker B:

We gonna get into that?

Speaker A:

Why are we getting.

Speaker A:

What are we getting into?

Speaker A:

Please tell the class, people.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna tell the class.

Speaker B:

So people, Harry and I did a really cool thing.

Speaker B:

We.

Speaker B:

Can I go into the deets?

Speaker A:

You can go into the deets.

Speaker A:

It's fine.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

We did a photo shoot.

Speaker B:

Honestly, the photo.

Speaker B:

Like again, my back is a bridge.

Speaker B:

Shout out to Gloria and DLA because by trial and by fire, that photo shoot happened.

Speaker B:

When I tell you I've been all around the world in III and I might have found my baby.

Speaker B:

Might have.

Speaker A:

I love that.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

And this is where.

Speaker B:

And you see, Harry ruins it just with everybody else in my life.

Speaker B:

I don't need the.

Speaker B:

Oh my God.

Speaker B:

No, no comment.

Speaker B:

Nothing until.

Speaker B:

Until there's a. Nevermind.

Speaker B:

Let me not get into my mess, child.

Speaker B:

Anyway, so we did a photo shoot.

Speaker B:

Harry came to Atlanta.

Speaker B:

How long has it been since you've been in Atlanta?

Speaker A:

I didn't been.

Speaker A:

Since January.

Speaker B:

Since January.

Speaker B:

That's a big detail.

Speaker B:

And Harry, let me tell you something.

Speaker B:

Atlanta is Harry's city.

Speaker B:

You would think that Harry.

Speaker B:

Harry lives here.

Speaker B:

Harry needs to move here.

Speaker B:

Harry does.

Speaker B:

Harry doesn't need to move here.

Speaker B:

But I'm gonna give Harry some time and spaciousness for life to work itself out.

Speaker B:

So we have the.

Speaker B:

Harry gets here on a Thursday.

Speaker B:

Our photo shoot is on a Saturday.

Speaker B:

I myself being like, you know, chosen kin bonding time.

Speaker B:

Like I would love for us to get together and spend some intentional together, like as like people to people.

Speaker B:

That's basically what I say over text.

Speaker B:

Hair gets here.

Speaker A:

That's what you said over text.

Speaker A:

Those are your words over text.

Speaker B:

You're.

Speaker B:

I'm summarizing my intention and the text.

Speaker B:

So if those words weren't there, it was there.

Speaker B:

Ho.

Speaker B:

In intention.

Speaker B:

Okay, so you inter my story.

Speaker B:

And that's.

Speaker B:

And see, that's the thing that's thinking about you.

Speaker A:

My apologies.

Speaker A:

It's the man in me.

Speaker B:

There is something about Harry.

Speaker B:

So Harry gets here Thursday.

Speaker B:

We didn't have plans for Thursday.

Speaker B:

We had plans for Friday.

Speaker B:

I didn't really talk to Harry too much on Thursday, but by the time I saw, I was asking Harry about like, okay, you going to this.

Speaker B:

You go into that.

Speaker B:

I sent them the flyer like we should go here.

Speaker B:

We have something special come down the line.

Speaker B:

And absent happened to overlap.

Speaker B:

So I was like, yeah, we should check this place out because of X thing.

Speaker B:

And Harry is like.

Speaker B:

And mind you, I asked Harry to reserve Friday entire like the evening of Friday.

Speaker B:

Cuz I know Harry got, you know, clubs to be in, dates to be on.

Speaker B:

I know it's been a while since, since Harry been back in his city.

Speaker B:

He needed, he needed to have some time child.

Speaker B:

So when I text Harry, Harry told me something.

Speaker B:

I'm going to Dustin Ross's comedy show tonight, so maybe I should meet you there.

Speaker B:

I'm just a girl.

Speaker B:

I don't just meet nobody nowhere.

Speaker B:

We pregame together, we go out together, we get wasted, then we get some food together and then we get ourselves home.

Speaker B:

That's my trajectory as a party friend.

Speaker B:

Okay?

Speaker B:

And that's just what the girlies do.

Speaker B:

And that's what.

Speaker B:

And that's what you do too.

Speaker B:

But not with me.

Speaker A:

What had happened was we were.

Speaker A:

I was with my other friend who lives in Atlanta and we saw the, the ad and I like Dustin Ross.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna present.

Speaker A:

I think he's funny.

Speaker A:

I like my black.

Speaker B:

Love Dustin Ross.

Speaker A:

And I was like, I want to see.

Speaker A:

I'm never.

Speaker A:

When will I get to see.

Speaker A:

Dustin Ross is not gon come to Minneapolis to do anything.

Speaker A:

I know that unless I bring him for a culture of color thing, I don't think he's going to come.

Speaker A:

I said, okay, fine, let me go check out Dustin Ross City Winery in my head.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

But the only times also they had 6:30.

Speaker A:

I wasn't going to do 6:30.

Speaker A:

And they had 10pm so it's like the timing was a little, you know, it was crazy.

Speaker A:

And then we went.

Speaker A:

And then immediately after we went to the spot where we're supposed to meet up with Bias.

Speaker B:

Don't, don't, don't do that.

Speaker B:

Don't do.

Speaker B:

I know what you're about to say.

Speaker A:

We did.

Speaker B:

No, we did not.

Speaker A:

We.

Speaker B:

Well, we went, but we did not meet up.

Speaker B:

Well, we didn't get up because you know Harry gonna try to spin the story by saying what happened after that.

Speaker B:

But the thing is, so yeah, Harry went to this comedy show.

Speaker B:

Cool, cool, cool.

Speaker B:

But the thing is that y' all don't know about Harry.

Speaker B:

And I feel like a lot of Tauruses, any side quest becomes priority.

Speaker B:

Harry will go to a museum on prompt.

Speaker B:

He will go to a concert impromptu, will go to a play and prompt anything.

Speaker B:

Harry stays at any sort of like creative event.

Speaker B:

Show anything.

Speaker B:

So it didn't shock me that Harry was like, I'm going to go see this.

Speaker B:

Because Harry could be like, I'm about to go see the Opera of Cats tomorrow.

Speaker B:

And I'd be like, of course you are.

Speaker B:

Yes, fucking course.

Speaker A:

Because I was in Atlanta.

Speaker A:

I saw.

Speaker A:

I saw an ad for Popo's, the play that was on Broadway that I actually saw on Broadway.

Speaker A:

I was like, oh, Alliance Theater is doing Poppers.

Speaker A:

I bought a ticket.

Speaker A:

So I'm going to see Black Friday.

Speaker A:

You know, why not?

Speaker A:

Why not see exhibit A?

Speaker B:

Exhibit A.

Speaker B:

A cultured queen.

Speaker B:

We love it.

Speaker B:

We do love it.

Speaker B:

But at the same time.

Speaker B:

And I'm just saying all this to say that's one example.

Speaker B:

I was like.

Speaker B:

And the thing is, the plans that I asked Harry about beforehand, before I changed into the.

Speaker B:

The suggestion I had, I was like, let's go to Bulldogs.

Speaker B:

Harry was like, I went to Bulldogs last night.

Speaker B:

I was like, well, fuck if I.

Speaker B:

If we can't go to Bulldogs, where the fuck can we go?

Speaker B:

That's how I felt.

Speaker B:

I was like, what about Felix?

Speaker B:

We tried to go to Wheat, but.

Speaker A:

Then, yeah, we were gonna go to Felix.

Speaker B:

We were.

Speaker A:

Was it Felix or friends?

Speaker B:

Felix?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah, we were gonna go to both.

Speaker A:

But you wanted to go to the party at waiting room.

Speaker B:

Yes, For a very special reason.

Speaker A:

Yes, And I accepted, you know, but I also.

Speaker B:

You did go, and I was not there.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And that's because I had to go with the girlies.

Speaker B:

And the girlies be late.

Speaker B:

The girlies be late.

Speaker B:

The girlies want to smoke.

Speaker B:

The girlies want to drink and have a little pre and catch up and talk, talk, talk.

Speaker B:

And then my homegirl, she got a pole in her.

Speaker B:

In her house now.

Speaker B:

So we was on that thing, and she got a projector in front of it.

Speaker B:

So we really felt like, B.

Speaker B:

It gave bad.

Speaker B:

Like, I took one pole class.

Speaker B:

It did not give P. Valley.

Speaker B:

It gave, like, P. Valley audition, maybe, but, like, I did not get in.

Speaker A:

So the Valley where the girls get naked,.

Speaker B:

That ain't coming back.

Speaker A:

See, I'm gonna be so.

Speaker A:

I. I love Kateri Hall.

Speaker A:

I love her as a playwright.

Speaker A:

I love her as a showrunner.

Speaker A:

I love her down, you know?

Speaker A:

So I'm gonna root for my girl.

Speaker A:

I believe that she has our best interest at heart, and so I know it's gonna come back soon.

Speaker A:

I know they said this year.

Speaker B:

But we're sitting at August.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we got September, October, November, December 4th.

Speaker A:

You gotta trust, trust and believe.

Speaker B:

You're sitting in a place of optimism today.

Speaker B:

We like that shout out to but.

Speaker A:

Apart from, you know, our chosen kin photo shoot.

Speaker A:

What have you.

Speaker A:

What have you been doing?

Speaker A:

Bia.

Speaker B:

I had a work trip to Chicago this week.

Speaker B:

I also.

Speaker B:

My boo was happened to be in Chicago as well.

Speaker B:

Harry also met the boo.

Speaker B:

Y', all if everything.

Speaker B:

If we damn near gonna get married soon or like like everyone that encounters us is like, so how long y' all been together?

Speaker B:

I look at them, they look at me because we.

Speaker B:

Not yet.

Speaker B:

But yeah.

Speaker B:

I went to Chicago for a few days, worked from there, had a work meeting as well.

Speaker B:

And Chicago actually won me over.

Speaker B:

This, this trip.

Speaker B:

Chicago won me over.

Speaker B:

The food is so good.

Speaker B:

We caught the tail end of allstar B weekend.

Speaker B:

And when I tell you I didn't think I was.

Speaker B:

I got there Sunday night, my boo got there Sunday morning.

Speaker B:

And we like walk around like after or before dinner or something like that.

Speaker B:

And we like see this like gay ass party.

Speaker B:

We see some.

Speaker B:

Some girl cussing out a stud in the car like, she like, girl, you.

Speaker B:

I like going in.

Speaker B:

Like, I love a backdrop to a party.

Speaker B:

You know, like it be that the other people smoking out the other studs and film smoking outside.

Speaker B:

Then that party itself got a little banner in front of saying All Star Weekend.

Speaker B:

And then you see, of course see the contingent of older, older dykes and lesbians that paved the way shout out to y', all, y', all the reason why.

Speaker B:

So it's very cute.

Speaker B:

It was very, very cute.

Speaker B:

We didn't go in the event because hopping off of a plane was not giving events.

Speaker A:

That's fair.

Speaker B:

It was not.

Speaker B:

It was not.

Speaker B:

But we watched, we looked.

Speaker B:

We looked around like there were, you know, girlies in the hotel.

Speaker B:

I said, oh, hey, what's up?

Speaker B:

You know, I need to go to All Star Weekend next year.

Speaker B:

I feel like I need to.

Speaker B:

I like sports.

Speaker B:

The.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I would.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I would go.

Speaker B:

I love a. I love a basketball.

Speaker B:

A WMA basketball game.

Speaker B:

I went to one with our mutual friend Ouchi.

Speaker B:

Shout out to Luchi.

Speaker B:

The weekend that you were here actually.

Speaker A:

Was in Atlanta that weekend.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

Maybe my worlds are colliding.

Speaker B:

My worlds might be colliding.

Speaker B:

We went to see the dream versus the sky.

Speaker B:

And you know, Angel Reese.

Speaker B:

Angel Reese is on the dream now.

Speaker B:

So the girlies love a little battle.

Speaker A:

Are so interesting.

Speaker A:

The dream, the sky.

Speaker A:

So you know.

Speaker A:

But the Valkyrie, I. I would always go to WNBA game for sure.

Speaker A:

So I'm not even hating.

Speaker A:

I'm just.

Speaker A:

I just find it very interesting.

Speaker B:

No one thinks you're Hating on the wnba.

Speaker B:

You always think that you're such a harsh critic and it's like the lightest touch.

Speaker B:

Meanwhile I'm like, forget them, leave them in the past.

Speaker A:

I'm sure I'm gonna do that in this episode.

Speaker A:

I can already see it coming.

Speaker A:

There's gonna be a lot.

Speaker B:

I need that from you.

Speaker B:

I need.

Speaker B:

And the viewers need it from you because I'll try.

Speaker B:

Love to see it.

Speaker B:

How are you, Harry?

Speaker B:

How's life?

Speaker B:

How's things going?

Speaker A:

Life is post travels, post Atlanta.

Speaker A:

I had the week off of work and so of my main 9 to 5 and so I was able to relax and do some things.

Speaker A:

Did I do all the things I was supposed to do?

Speaker A:

No, because just like I just want to be in this bed, you know.

Speaker A:

But I was able to get some things done.

Speaker A:

I hadn't done an Oduma episode cuz I was in Atlanta and I was in Indianapolis actually.

Speaker A:

Cuz I went to Indianapolis and then I went to Atlanta afterwards and so I had.

Speaker A:

I didn't put out odumma so I did that this week.

Speaker A:

Good episode.

Speaker A:

Check it out if you haven't.

Speaker A:

And then.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I just been chilling.

Speaker B:

I was supposed to go to New York.

Speaker A:

I was supposed.

Speaker A:

Oh my God.

Speaker B:

Why were you supposed to go to New York, Harry?

Speaker A:

We got to get a lot out of these podcasts today, but I will give an update at some point.

Speaker A:

Yes, I wanted to go to New York after Atlanta, but you know, but yes, but I'm also kind of happy that I came home.

Speaker A:

I needed to be at home, I needed to rest and catch my breath.

Speaker A:

I forget when I was out, when I.

Speaker A:

When I used to work on my, you know, former.

Speaker A:

My former job, we used to travel very often and I didn't realize how.

Speaker A:

How intense that was to hop on a plane, do the thing, come back, you know, it's just really a lot and so yeah, now you're doing that.

Speaker A:

All the best to you, honestly.

Speaker B:

But you caught a rhythm when you were like traveling all the time and your miles.

Speaker B:

Babes.

Speaker B:

Delta told me the other day, I'm gold medallion.

Speaker B:

I said, might like that.

Speaker A:

Shout out to gold.

Speaker B:

Shout out to gold.

Speaker A:

What you need is platinum though.

Speaker A:

You need to get some platinum.

Speaker B:

I need platinum or diamond.

Speaker A:

Diamond.

Speaker A:

You need to budget.

Speaker A:

Diamond is.

Speaker A:

I think diamond is the highest.

Speaker A:

I think just let's try for platinum.

Speaker A:

Cuz I. I mean I got into platinum once and it was a really great feeling.

Speaker A:

I don't know if I will be there again, but platinum is really good.

Speaker A:

You know, I'LL settle for gold now.

Speaker A:

If I can get gold, that's fine.

Speaker A:

But platinum is nice.

Speaker A:

Silver is just like.

Speaker A:

You don't really want to be in silver.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I had silver for a minute.

Speaker B:

It doesn't take.

Speaker B:

It's not hard to have silver.

Speaker A:

It doesn't do anything, especially if you.

Speaker B:

Have a credit card.

Speaker B:

It's not hard at all.

Speaker A:

But, yeah, it's good to know that, you know, you're doing good.

Speaker A:

We're all doing good.

Speaker A:

Life is great.

Speaker B:

You know, by trial by fire, I'm doing good.

Speaker B:

What did you go to last night?

Speaker B:

You know, how to ask a question, child.

Speaker B:

My boo's birthday was also this week, so it's been celebrations and things.

Speaker B:

We had, like, dinner on their actual birthday.

Speaker B:

Then we went out to, like, a little.

Speaker B:

A little event that was really cute and, like, retro y.

Speaker B:

And then last night, they had a birthday party.

Speaker B:

And, you know, I'm.

Speaker B:

I'm a little tired because people stay there late and lovingly so, like, oh, they are so deserving of that.

Speaker B:

But I don't think me or them expected how late they were.

Speaker B:

People were gonna stay.

Speaker B:

Like, we had to leave.

Speaker B:

And people was like, all right, now.

Speaker A:

So it was a party at one.

Speaker B:

Of their friends houses.

Speaker B:

Like, it was essentially a.

Speaker B:

Well, I'm telling all my teeth.

Speaker B:

It was essentially like a vinyl party where they.

Speaker B:

It was.

Speaker B:

You know, that's part of their Sunday rituals is having, like, a vinyl moment with some wine.

Speaker B:

So they, like, replicated that as, like, a birthday party and was so, so cute.

Speaker B:

It was so, so cute.

Speaker A:

Did you go with a vinyl?

Speaker B:

Yeah, I did.

Speaker B:

I brought Rapture by Anita Baker.

Speaker B:

I need to get my vinyls up because when I tell you that I maybe have 50, my boo has, like, 400.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And like, pulled out, waiting to be.

Speaker A:

Like, I've been looking for that vinyl.

Speaker A:

I can't find it anywhere.

Speaker B:

When I tell you they have vinyls that I have only dreamed about waiting to excel.

Speaker B:

My mouth dropped when I saw it.

Speaker B:

Literally an original.

Speaker B:

An original.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Huh?

Speaker B:

Huh.

Speaker A:

They're just like, I find it anywhere.

Speaker A:

Because that's my favorite soundtrack album of all time.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

I think they might have found it, like, in New York at, like, like a random vinyl shop, like, very.

Speaker B:

I don't think they don't even produce them anymore.

Speaker B:

They probably.

Speaker B:

They should have when the anniversary came up, but they don't.

Speaker B:

They don't be thinking like that.

Speaker B:

Like, they just don't.

Speaker B:

It's so aggravating.

Speaker B:

But that's What I did last night.

Speaker B:

I am tired.

Speaker B:

I needed this cup of coffee bad.

Speaker B:

Harry was like, are you hopping on.

Speaker B:

I was like, yeah, I just need this cup of coffee real bad.

Speaker B:

And I also.

Speaker B:

I woke up and I fell back asleep, and I was so.

Speaker B:

I've tried.

Speaker B:

I've tried, y', all today.

Speaker B:

My voice don't sound that great.

Speaker B:

I'm listening to it.

Speaker B:

It's probably from chain smoking joints.

Speaker B:

Really?

Speaker A:

Sounds good.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you sound good.

Speaker B:

It feels like rocks in my throat a little bit.

Speaker B:

So, you know, fuck it.

Speaker A:

Don't kill me.

Speaker B:

My voice.

Speaker B:

I'm just serious.

Speaker B:

Like, my back is a bridge, y'.

Speaker A:

All.

Speaker B:

Apparently.

Speaker B:

People have been trying me this week.

Speaker B:

People have been trying me this week.

Speaker B:

And we'll get into it at the end because I got something for hoes, you know, by proxy of the.

Speaker B:

Of the beautifully grounded questions that Harry has put together for kidding lessons.

Speaker B:

But I got something for you hoes.

Speaker A:

I'm very Zen.

Speaker A:

You know, I'm a very.

Speaker B:

You need to unzen yourself.

Speaker B:

Like, we all should.

Speaker B:

Should be righteously angry.

Speaker B:

So y' all see what.

Speaker B:

Y' all see what.

Speaker B:

What t. I am on for this.

Speaker B:

For this episode.

Speaker B:

Let's hit it.

Speaker B:

The like.

Speaker A:

It's like them.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

So we're gonna go.

Speaker A:

We're gonna go straight into the zeitgeist.

Speaker A:

The first one is the.

Speaker B:

In the ze.

Speaker B:

We need to put a little, like, track.

Speaker A:

We probably should.

Speaker A:

That's a good idea.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Oh, child.

Speaker B:

I created my work for myself, y'.

Speaker B:

All.

Speaker A:

We need to make, like, little intros.

Speaker A:

Okay, we're gonna do that.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker A:

So the first, you know, one I picked up was four years of renaissance.

Speaker A:

It's been four years since Renaissance was released.

Speaker A:

2022.

Speaker A:

I was in a relationship at the time.

Speaker A:

I was in a relationship.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

You know, it was.

Speaker A:

It was pretty interesting, I think.

Speaker A:

I think my ex and I listened to it at the same time.

Speaker A:

Oh, that was called by Carter.

Speaker A:

That was with the other ex that lived in Atlanta.

Speaker A:

But anyways, Renaissance was a good.

Speaker A:

It was a good time.

Speaker A:

Great memory.

Speaker B:

That was.

Speaker B:

That was the same time, I think, when.

Speaker A:

With the Atlanta X. I think.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

I think y' all were in a relationship then.

Speaker A:

No, that was.

Speaker A:

That was Cowboy Carter.

Speaker A:

That was 2024.

Speaker B:

Excuse me.

Speaker A:

2022 Was a different egg.

Speaker B:

Didn't know that one.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it was a good time.

Speaker B:

You should send me a picture.

Speaker A:

I got you.

Speaker A:

I'll send you a picture.

Speaker A:

We're still friends.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Continue.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

Where are the visuals?

Speaker A:

Where.

Speaker A:

How do you feel about not getting the visuals for Renaissance.

Speaker A:

Are you, like, over it or.

Speaker A:

Yeah, just, like.

Speaker A:

I know she says we're the visuals and whatnot, but, you know, I. I.

Speaker B:

Want what she wants to give us, so I kind of don't give a.

Speaker B:

Four years of renaissance.

Speaker B:

We.

Speaker B:

We might get these visuals.

Speaker B:

15 Years of renaissance, like, when people actually.

Speaker B:

Like, when she finds it.

Speaker B:

So, like.

Speaker B:

Like, whatever.

Speaker B:

It doesn't matter now.

Speaker B:

I think her and Blue have decided that it wasn't.

Speaker B:

It wasn't hitting it.

Speaker B:

I'm sure it hits for us, but it probably didn't hit for her because she would have been dropped visuals, like, absolutely.

Speaker B:

And I think she was up on that stage and was like, y' all are the visuals.

Speaker B:

Impromptu.

Speaker B:

Like, didn't.

Speaker B:

I don't know if she actually thought that we were the visuals until she was like.

Speaker B:

Like, y' all are the damn visuals.

Speaker B:

Like, what the.

Speaker B:

Y' all came in on this.

Speaker B:

Get up.

Speaker B:

Y' all sparkly and y' all wearing spandex.

Speaker B:

Y' all look a little dominatrixy.

Speaker B:

That's not really the dress code, Bab.

Speaker B:

But y' all are the visuals.

Speaker B:

Like, that's what it gave to me.

Speaker B:

Like, damn.

Speaker B:

Like, you want visuals so bad.

Speaker B:

I've given visuals all my.

Speaker B:

My life.

Speaker A:

Oh.

Speaker A:

You know, all her life, she's giving us visuals.

Speaker A:

I. I don't really mind.

Speaker A:

I could do without the visuals.

Speaker A:

I need the film.

Speaker B:

Same.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I need to film.

Speaker A:

I need to relieve that concert again.

Speaker B:

You need to relive it on.

Speaker B:

Because the girls want the visuals.

Speaker B:

I feel like, how would you rank it?

Speaker B:

I think they want the.

Speaker B:

The film and then the visuals.

Speaker B:

Like, at this point, they're like, okay, the visuals may not be happening.

Speaker B:

Spurts of it, but I do think people want the film more than the.

Speaker B:

And the film was great.

Speaker B:

It was.

Speaker B:

But I don't.

Speaker B:

I don't know why it's keeping y' all up late at night.

Speaker B:

Tell me more, Harry.

Speaker B:

Cuz I don't get it.

Speaker A:

Low key.

Speaker B:

I get it, but I don't.

Speaker A:

You don't get the film?

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

I don't get why people want it so bad.

Speaker B:

Still.

Speaker A:

I think that it's just because that comes.

Speaker A:

There was something about the Renaissance, and I think this is a good segue to favorite moments from that era.

Speaker A:

I think my favorite moment from that era was actually the tour.

Speaker A:

I feel like the tour, the production.

Speaker A:

The production value.

Speaker A:

And I guess even with Cowboy Carter, I think she upped it up.

Speaker A:

But there was something magical about, you know, hearing.

Speaker A:

Please not be alarmed.

Speaker A:

Remain Calm and, you know, and, you know, you know, her coming down and going to sleep, like all these really cool moments, you know, at the tour, it was such a great.

Speaker A:

It was such a great time.

Speaker A:

Remember, we know the first time we saw Blue walk on that stage, giving us a little 1, 2, 1, 2.

Speaker A:

And seeing her improve throughout the performances.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I feel like there were just so many moments, and like you said, people were dressing up in their.

Speaker A:

In their chrome and they're silver.

Speaker A:

There's a guy that just had his cheeks out in Minneapolis, but, you know, that's neither here nor there.

Speaker A:

But you did.

Speaker A:

No, there's a guy.

Speaker A:

Some guy had his cheeks out.

Speaker A:

He wore like, a jock strap with, like, he had.

Speaker A:

I don't know if it was a jock strap per se.

Speaker A:

I think it was a jock strap.

Speaker A:

His cheeks were out.

Speaker A:

And then he wore, like, the.

Speaker A:

What do they call the thing?

Speaker A:

The cowboy things?

Speaker B:

The chaps.

Speaker A:

Yes, he wore the chaps, but he wore them.

Speaker A:

It was.

Speaker A:

It wasn't called by card identity.

Speaker A:

He wore them, like, sparkly with the chrome hat with the things that fall on like a bodysuit.

Speaker B:

He must have left a mark on you.

Speaker B:

You still think about that man?

Speaker A:

No, he did not.

Speaker A:

I just remember his outfit because he was prancing around the stadium in his.

Speaker A:

With his.

Speaker A:

With his.

Speaker A:

What did Kenya Marseille.

Speaker A:

I read his coochie crack.

Speaker A:

That's what he was doing.

Speaker A:

That's why I remember I was not.

Speaker A:

You losing sleep about this, man.

Speaker A:

You know, I didn't do that.

Speaker B:

I'm screaming.

Speaker B:

I. I would say, like, favorite memories of my own.

Speaker B:

So I did have an exit the time that I'm not gonna go too much into it because we are definitely no contact.

Speaker B:

I. I had ex at the time.

Speaker B:

Like, during that era, I went to see Renaissance.

Speaker B:

I think, like, three times I saw it.

Speaker B:

One of the nights is like, you could never see Renaissance on your birthday in Houston with Beyonce bringing out Megan Thee Stallion.

Speaker B:

Y' all hoes could fucking never.

Speaker B:

Like.

Speaker B:

It was iconic.

Speaker B:

I may have may not partaked in some drugs and had a gender euphoric experience.

Speaker B:

And I was forever changed by that moment.

Speaker B:

I was.

Speaker B:

But I feel like my favorite moments.

Speaker B:

I'm such a music girl.

Speaker B:

Like, I came from theater background.

Speaker B:

I'm classically trained in opera.

Speaker B:

If folks did not, well, they probably don't know because I haven't said it.

Speaker B:

And despite my voice sounding like gravel right now, I was.

Speaker B:

I'm classically trained in opera and sang for a large part of my life.

Speaker B:

It's something that I'M still trying to do by trial and by fire to create more music.

Speaker B:

But I just.

Speaker B:

The arrangements, I'm always.

Speaker B:

That's always something that's going to like, stay with me forever.

Speaker B:

The arrangements with.

Speaker B:

Especially with what's that song?

Speaker B:

Was that song.

Speaker B:

I'm blanking because I'm hungover.

Speaker B:

But what's that one song?

Speaker A:

When did she perform it?

Speaker B:

She was like on the bed.

Speaker A:

Plastic of the sofa.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Or Virgos.

Speaker B:

Was it either one of those?

Speaker B:

And then she did the renditions of different songs, like with Speechless and Signs.

Speaker B:

Like that I still think about as I fall asleep at times.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, that is talented.

Speaker B:

Like, who the thinks about, like, adding in the rent.

Speaker B:

Oh, she's talented.

Speaker B:

So that's a moment for me.

Speaker B:

Always and forever, I think.

Speaker B:

Of course, like the opening of the show.

Speaker B:

People don't talk about how the opening of.

Speaker B:

People do talk about how the opening of show is like, she's the opener.

Speaker B:

Talking about, like, I'm that girl.

Speaker B:

And that dance sequence.

Speaker B:

Every time I remember seeing it and being like.

Speaker B:

I like, see, like, literally feel like stand of a stand.

Speaker B:

And then along with her, like, starting dangerously in love.

Speaker B:

Like all that.

Speaker B:

I just.

Speaker A:

I think I remember one of those.

Speaker B:

Yes, I believe so.

Speaker A:

And then she comes up from the stage.

Speaker A:

That was such a good performance.

Speaker B:

You know, she could sell tickets for that today.

Speaker B:

Like a.

Speaker B:

Like.

Speaker B:

Because we're gonna get into it later.

Speaker B:

But it's innocent.

Speaker B:

It's a. I was pushing them together.

Speaker B:

It's a recession indicator that these hoes are taking tours for no random reason other than anniversary and y' all buying the tickets.

Speaker B:

So I'm not.

Speaker B:

Not too much on y'.

Speaker B:

Too much on what y' all want to go to.

Speaker B:

But she could run another tour today.

Speaker B:

Same exact show, same dancer at all.

Speaker B:

And the people who wish they went to Renaissance, because I hear all the time they're like, I wish I would have went.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, yeah, you're dumb.

Speaker B:

You're stupid.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you missed out.

Speaker B:

And we told you you were stupid.

Speaker B:

You missed out and you will never get that again, bitch.

Speaker B:

But I think she could really drop tickets today if he were like, yes, actually, give me two of them.

Speaker B:

Like, give me three of them.

Speaker B:

Just.

Speaker B:

I think so.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

But again, that'll be a recession indicator, her running the same show again.

Speaker B:

But we would pay to see it and to see her and Blue.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

Pay to see her and Blue do it again.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It was such a great era, such a great time, I think, because I saw.

Speaker A:

I Saw Renaissance once.

Speaker A:

That's the reason why I still called by Carter twice because my ex was like, you have to see Beyonce more than once.

Speaker B:

And so, yes, I'm glad you did that.

Speaker B:

And I'm sure you were like, you're right.

Speaker B:

Because the sets be different.

Speaker B:

Like in general, not like the actual physical set, but like some.

Speaker B:

Her set lists also will be different based off of location, you know.

Speaker B:

Yeah, your, your ex was right.

Speaker A:

I was forever changed.

Speaker A:

Forever changed.

Speaker A:

Wicked on two Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Speaker A:

How you feeling about Atlanta this, this season?

Speaker B:

I, I believe I'm all caught up.

Speaker B:

I am unsure how I feel about the season.

Speaker B:

The reunion is going to save the season and I fear, I hate when that happens with Real Housewives in general, not just of Atlanta.

Speaker B:

It's like, now we got to get all the meat in the actual reunion because y' all don't want to talk to each other on camera.

Speaker B:

It's like, I think that's the thing for me is that it got to be the face to face.

Speaker B:

Susie from Ohio said, hey, Michelle, why are you such a.

Speaker B:

Like, like.

Speaker B:

And then it'd be like, you know, like, I hate that.

Speaker B:

And Andy knows what to say and know what's.

Speaker B:

And it really don't be Susie from Ohio.

Speaker B:

And it, they be like, is this Susie from Hawaii or is this Andy from New York?

Speaker B:

Like, we're.

Speaker B:

And so I am trying to.

Speaker B:

I feel ghastly.

Speaker B:

I don't know if the audience does.

Speaker B:

I feel ghastly about this whole Shamia versus Portia thing because I do think Shami.

Speaker B:

Shamia hit low.

Speaker B:

But I also think Portia is doing the thing where she is not directly confronting conflict at this point in her life because it will get ugly.

Speaker B:

I think it's like for self preservation reasons.

Speaker B:

But still it's like.

Speaker A:

And the show's grown, you know, I'm.

Speaker B:

Not gonna have shows grow.

Speaker A:

I'm not gonna roll.

Speaker A:

What did Mariah say in Married to Medicine?

Speaker A:

I'm not gonna step up my chariots and something, something, something, you know, she's not gonna, she's not gonna rule in the moderate Shamia, you know, And I, I, I, it's not like I, I don't say that to say I'm team either or I think I like both of them.

Speaker A:

I like Portia, I like Shamia.

Speaker A:

It was just very ugly to bring that up out of nowhere.

Speaker A:

Like, out of nowhere.

Speaker A:

You're not.

Speaker A:

Mother tried to blah, blah, blah my dad.

Speaker A:

I'm just like, girl, we are trying to have charcuterie.

Speaker A:

Okay?

Speaker A:

We're having dinner.

Speaker A:

But still I'm like, that is.

Speaker A:

It came out of left field.

Speaker A:

There was no need.

Speaker A:

Literally no need for that.

Speaker A:

That just put a damper on the season for me.

Speaker A:

Like it's just.

Speaker A:

Just a weird season.

Speaker A:

And Shamia, I'll be surprised if she comes back next season.

Speaker A:

I'll be surprised.

Speaker B:

I would not be surprised.

Speaker B:

This is all after.

Speaker B:

According to.

Speaker B:

To her, after Angela tried to ruin her reputation with the NBA and the hog things is that.

Speaker B:

Are you fucking George?

Speaker B:

And you know, I think she's coming back.

Speaker B:

This is what she has.

Speaker B:

And she can't like coward post a really tough season like this, you know,.

Speaker A:

I think it will fire her.

Speaker A:

I don't think.

Speaker A:

I think she wants to come back.

Speaker B:

You think?

Speaker A:

I feel like she's wanted to be a housewife for a long time.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

But I also.

Speaker A:

So I think she would want to come back.

Speaker A:

I don't think she will.

Speaker A:

She's going to quit.

Speaker A:

However, I don't feel like she is in a good dynamic with any of the ladies on the show.

Speaker A:

Her only friend is Kelly.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Even though she's not in a good space.

Speaker A:

Sorry.

Speaker B:

Even with K. Michelle.

Speaker B:

She's not in a good space.

Speaker B:

But K. Michelle is.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And so it's like I don't.

Speaker A:

I don't see how you would come back to this show.

Speaker A:

It's just gonna be weird.

Speaker A:

It's gonna be weird.

Speaker A:

And it happened in Potomac with Candace and Wendy versus everybody.

Speaker A:

And we saw how those seasons went.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

That they had.

Speaker B:

And Wendy had to reconcile.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker B:

To have actual con.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

No, you're not.

Speaker A:

So it's like, I don't know how that is gonna work in Atlanta, I think.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

And they're gonna choose Portia over Shamir.

Speaker A:

They're not gonna be like, oh, Portia should leave.

Speaker A:

Shamir should stay.

Speaker A:

That.

Speaker A:

You know, that's not.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

And I like not.

Speaker B:

That's not gonna happen.

Speaker B:

And I think I saw Portia's sister actually drops on threads like a sequence of like pictures of Portia with her taglines and like just her growth.

Speaker B:

Like you can't.

Speaker B:

It's undeatable that Portia.1, is like one of the most gorgeous housewives on Housewives generally across the board.

Speaker B:

Two, that she hasn't been transparent about her life in all the iterations.

Speaker B:

Like she.

Speaker B:

She has.

Speaker B:

Her life has actually carried some seasons to be honest, to the point where she's had spin offs and this and that.

Speaker B:

And so I think the network is so invested in Portia because she has been invested in the show even when she wasn't even on.

Speaker B:

Like, people were like, Portia needs to come back.

Speaker B:

And they were like, like, yeah.

Speaker B:

And which.

Speaker B:

And every time Portia, it don't matter.

Speaker B:

She works.

Speaker B:

She's working.

Speaker B:

And I think you can see.

Speaker B:

And I also, you can see the, the support that she has by the network from that little, like, squabble she had with Kelly.

Speaker B:

Well, squabble is a lot but, like, interaction.

Speaker B:

She have Kelly at that dinner table at Phaedra's, like, wellness event.

Speaker B:

Like, when I tell you production.

Speaker B:

They saw like, the little cues where they saw the glass.

Speaker B:

They know Portia don't like stuff in her face.

Speaker B:

They swooped in in child.

Speaker B:

Like, they.

Speaker B:

It's like, it feels like a very bi directional relationship between Portia and the network at this point, that they are protecting their asset because they've been working so hard together.

Speaker B:

And also, Portia, one thing that will help you stay on a network like Bravo and whatever is it truly in the production company is like, when you actually try to mend the relationships with the girls in the group.

Speaker B:

Portia has had issues with Drew.

Speaker B:

Portia the other day was on a Tick Tock Live or Instagram Live, selling hair for Drew's collection.

Speaker B:

Like, you know, they've come.

Speaker B:

Like, Porsche is able to come back from things, even k Michelle in the most recent episodes.

Speaker B:

And Portia had a little double date.

Speaker B:

Like, Porsche is able to put things to the side as long as it doesn't go so, so low.

Speaker B:

And I think Shamia went so, so low.

Speaker B:

And because I'm like, what is the actual problem for you to mention that?

Speaker B:

Like, I, I think that's what people are on Shamia side is like, what is the issue for you to actually bring that up?

Speaker B:

You know, like, because we're not getting to the meat of Yalls issue.

Speaker B:

We're getting to the history of Yalls family and things that's clearly impacting y relationship.

Speaker B:

But for you and not for Portia, you know, like, your mama must be like, yeah, you know that Jezebel.

Speaker B:

Well, we did see K. Michelle said that.

Speaker A:

And then we're getting her.

Speaker B:

She did say she was like, I'm not.

Speaker B:

What did Kim Michelle say?

Speaker B:

She was like, I. I'm my mama.

Speaker B:

Not in a hookah lounge talking about blessings and, and ties and offerings and then calling her Jezebel.

Speaker B:

And she.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And of course, who would you.

Speaker B:

No, literally, of course Portia.

Speaker B:

Who.

Speaker B:

Who was Jezebel?

Speaker B:

Who, me?

Speaker A:

You know, they're Christ.

Speaker A:

They're Christian women.

Speaker A:

You dare not call a Christian woman a Jezebel.

Speaker A:

That's like, even though a child of Satan, you know.

Speaker B:

Exactly, exactly.

Speaker B:

That's literally the common child saying.

Speaker B:

And just because you know who people have slept with because they're public figures does not make them a.

Speaker B:

Or a.

Speaker B:

And also, stop slut shaming.

Speaker B:

Because, you know, right before that the clip came, Michelle was like, close your glory hole.

Speaker B:

And I was like, a glory hole is terrible to say a glory.

Speaker B:

You won't say, somebody got a glory go.

Speaker B:

That's why she hasn't been speaking on the show itself.

Speaker B:

So the reunion, I'm getting, Giving.

Speaker B:

Getting the best of Michelle, like Anthony.

Speaker A:

Hamilton say, that reunion trailer fed my soul.

Speaker A:

I was like, give me this reunion today.

Speaker A:

Today.

Speaker A:

Who do you think you.

Speaker A:

Who do you think is winning in the.

Speaker A:

From the radio clips?

Speaker A:

Who do you think is, like, killing it?

Speaker A:

I think she's gonna get eat up, though.

Speaker A:

I think they're gonna eat her.

Speaker B:

Sham is gonna get ate up.

Speaker B:

She looks gorgeous.

Speaker B:

She looks amazing.

Speaker B:

She amazing.

Speaker B:

That's ne.

Speaker B:

That's never the thing.

Speaker B:

Because she has money.

Speaker B:

It's never the thing.

Speaker B:

But Angela, hey, that.

Speaker B:

That clip with Angela in Kelly where she's like, Kelly's like, you're a golden retriever.

Speaker B:

Angela said, you have teeth, but you're.

Speaker B:

You have, you're.

Speaker B:

You have no home and you're broke.

Speaker A:

She said you're poor.

Speaker A:

You said you got new teeth at no place to slip.

Speaker A:

You broke,.

Speaker B:

Cuz.

Speaker B:

75K on some teeth by Jarvis.

Speaker B:

And Jarvis, his hands were ashy.

Speaker B:

And when he whipped here, did y' all see his hands?

Speaker B:

His hands were ashy with that motorcycle helmet on the parts that we can see.

Speaker B:

Jarvis, you should have greased up.

Speaker B:

You should have.

Speaker B:

You were on camera.

Speaker B:

People looking for any hint.

Speaker B:

And we looking at your ashy ass hands and we supposed to believe that you pay 75,000 on them.

Speaker B:

On them set of.

Speaker B:

Of choppers.

Speaker B:

Cuz that's what they are, Choppers.

Speaker A:

Thousand on choppers.

Speaker B:

Literally.

Speaker B:

The, you know, the teeth that you put on your.

Speaker B:

You know, the.

Speaker B:

The teeth that you.

Speaker B:

You can wind up and they walk on your desk.

Speaker B:

It's like, like that's what it gave no shade.

Speaker B:

No, that is.

Speaker B:

That's the shadiest of shade.

Speaker B:

But it's the truth.

Speaker B:

Even Phaedra said.

Speaker B:

Phaedra said, y', all.

Speaker B:

You paid that much on.

Speaker B:

That much on that.

Speaker B:

Okay, girl.

Speaker A:

This brings me to the Carlos King interview with Kelly.

Speaker A:

First of all, you are shady, you know, because you said maybe this episode should be called that's the shadiest of shade.

Speaker B:

But me?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Why did you tag me a thread that says is this your leader?

Speaker A:

I never said.

Speaker B:

I said queen.

Speaker A:

Whatever.

Speaker A:

I never said I was a Kelly Potter.

Speaker A:

Apologies.

Speaker A:

Or Kelly Pharrell.

Speaker A:

Apologies.

Speaker A:

Or whatever her name is.

Speaker A:

I've never claimed to be her apolog, though.

Speaker A:

I just said that she was good for the show.

Speaker A:

I never said I was a fan or a Stan or whatever.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

When you say she good for the show, that's.

Speaker B:

That sound like a fan to me.

Speaker A:

She's good for.

Speaker A:

I feel like all the ladies are good for the show.

Speaker A:

Every single one of them are good for the show.

Speaker A:

Do I think Phaedra should be a friend of.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Do I think Shamia should be a friend of now?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

We need two friends of Phaedra and Shamia.

Speaker A:

Everybody else should be full time housewives.

Speaker A:

But, you know.

Speaker B:

But is Kelly your queen?

Speaker B:

Is the question.

Speaker A:

Kelly is not my queen.

Speaker A:

Kelly is a. Kelly is good as an ensemble cast.

Speaker A:

Now, will I watch a reality show based on PR's life?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Will I watch a reality show based on Cynthia Bailey's life?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Will I watch a reality show based on.

Speaker A:

On Angela's life?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Will I watch a reality.

Speaker A:

Reality show based on Kelly's life?

Speaker A:

No, I will not.

Speaker B:

I'm shocked that you said that I.

Speaker A:

Would not watch a show based on her life because I don't think she would give me anything new.

Speaker B:

I don't think she would give me anything new either.

Speaker B:

And I do.

Speaker B:

And I think it will be stale.

Speaker B:

Her kids will not be able to be on it.

Speaker B:

It like, you know, I don't want to see them.

Speaker B:

Restaurants in Sandy Springs and Roswell.

Speaker B:

Babes I don't want to see.

Speaker B:

I truly don't like.

Speaker A:

If you.

Speaker A:

If you're going to give us a reality show based on your life, you have to have an exciting family and talk about.

Speaker A:

Talk about Ms. Burrs all you want.

Speaker A:

People say she's boring and blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

Candy had an exciting.

Speaker A:

She came with, like, an exciting family.

Speaker A:

The old lady gag.

Speaker A:

They were crazy.

Speaker A:

Well, they're not crazy.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

God, I respect my elders.

Speaker A:

They were funny.

Speaker A:

The old lady gag.

Speaker A:

They were funny.

Speaker A:

Her caddy, her cattle was shady.

Speaker A:

Her job, like, she came with.

Speaker A:

She was able to bring the people.

Speaker A:

So, you know, I don't know who.

Speaker A:

I don't know who Kelly's gonna.

Speaker A:

Who's Kelly gonna bring?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't know you.

Speaker B:

And this is an aside.

Speaker B:

Candy is actually breaking the Internet today and yesterday with her.

Speaker B:

She Said I'm tired of you, Tamar.

Speaker B:

I'm pulling out the receipts and what is there a show.

Speaker B:

Let's talk about it it or something like that.

Speaker A:

Speak on it.

Speaker B:

Speak on it, Speak on it.

Speaker B:

And I, I have been.

Speaker B:

No, literally, I have been a Tamar apologist for quite some time and this is really hard for me.

Speaker A:

You have.

Speaker A:

This is interesting.

Speaker B:

Cuz she can sing down.

Speaker B:

She's always been so talented and I think I literally have actual tears.

Speaker B:

Like sometimes it's hard to fake it, you know.

Speaker B:

But my eyes are also watering from all the things.

Speaker B:

No, for being hung over and a light in my face at this time of day.

Speaker B:

But.

Speaker B:

But no shade.

Speaker B:

No shade to our podcast.

Speaker B:

But it's like I understand because Tamar is so misunderstood and I feel, I think I relate to the misunderstoodness.

Speaker B:

But even I've grown.

Speaker B:

She was, she was misunderstood like early on, years back, Years back.

Speaker B:

Because I feel like when you're loud and like you come off a particular way, it's easy for people to like scapegoat you as the problem.

Speaker B:

But at this point she is a problem and no matter how well she can sing and I really just want her to focus on the music and I hate when I have to tell my faves that like just focus on the music.

Speaker B:

My girl just.

Speaker B:

But you know, she is a Pisces, I think, right?

Speaker B:

They're special.

Speaker B:

They're special.

Speaker A:

I know she's a lot and she.

Speaker A:

And I don't say that in a way that is, you know, like I'm trying to, you know, sometimes when people say you're a lot they're trying to say so that can, you know, tame yourself or bring yourself down.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

I think she just does a lot like you did not you that lady.

Speaker A:

Y' all don't like each other.

Speaker B:

And there was a point where y' all couldn't repair other each it and kept it.

Speaker B:

Like when they did big big Brother together, like they did reach a point of repair and it went to the side and when you take it to the Internet when you, you know in somebody's messages talking about how they husband gay or they ex husband gay and how you saw them on a date.

Speaker B:

Yeah, she said all that on speak on it.

Speaker B:

And it was.

Speaker A:

I said, I said come join the prep.

Speaker A:

The prep circus or something like that.

Speaker A:

And I'm just like, girl, you are an ambassador for a pre prep G. Yeah.

Speaker B:

I'm like, they're like, take it away from her.

Speaker B:

Take it away.

Speaker B:

Like now they're calling for her to get straight.

Speaker B:

But also, like, you can't say some.

Speaker B:

It's homophobic from coming from, like, you.

Speaker B:

If, like, you know, one of us were to be like, yeah, you on the prep circuit now.

Speaker B:

Like, prep is preventative care.

Speaker B:

Like, also, if y' all want to sponsor the podcast, like, you can, because we actually believe in preventative care.

Speaker B:

We love prep.

Speaker B:

We love prep over here.

Speaker A:

I am on prep.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

To go.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I. I've been, like, debating it.

Speaker B:

I've been debating it.

Speaker B:

I think that's, like, such a key.

Speaker B:

It's a hot topic with black women and femmes of, like, my.

Speaker B:

I have this lovely lesbian, like, nurse practitioner as my pcp.

Speaker B:

She's lovely.

Speaker B:

I was about to say something that actually was not good for her practice, but.

Speaker A:

This is why I need to move to Atlanta.

Speaker A:

I need a black queer primary care provider.

Speaker A:

I did a black.

Speaker B:

Even if they're not black and queer, they have, like, guilt.

Speaker B:

That's why I was like, I go in there and I tell my symptoms and, like, what I'm going through, and I'm like, this is what I believe is happening.

Speaker B:

And she'd be like, I think so, too prescription or I think so too referral.

Speaker B:

Like, you don't have to do all the roundabout, like, please believe me, like, you know, type shit with regular doctors.

Speaker B:

And that is a big deal.

Speaker B:

That's a very big deal.

Speaker B:

So I. I'm still debating whether prep is something that I would like to do because.

Speaker B:

And I'm not saying it from a place of homophobia, like a lot of black women have online of, like, I don't eat prep and.

Speaker B:

But sexuality is a spectrum, babes.

Speaker B:

I guarantee anybody, any man that you laid down with might have been sword fighting in one period in time, so.

Speaker B:

And also, like, you're not that straight as well, but that's a whole other topic too.

Speaker B:

I don't believe nobody's straight.

Speaker B:

For real, like, completely straight.

Speaker B:

There might be a couple of outliers, but no one's completely straight.

Speaker B:

Whether it be, like, sexual attraction, romance, attraction, whatever.

Speaker B:

But, yeah, I'm still debating if that's what I want, because I got.

Speaker B:

I already have a cocktail of drugs happening over here.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you can look at another.

Speaker A:

The shots is.

Speaker A:

I'm on the shots.

Speaker A:

I'm on the needle.

Speaker B:

Oh, it's twice a year.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

So my next shot is in September.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So I'm on the show, and I.

Speaker B:

Think that you getting it right before Pride.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker A:

No, it's gonna be after Pride.

Speaker A:

It's gonna be after Pride, but I You know, we.

Speaker A:

We all have to protect ourselves, and it's just a responsible thing to do.

Speaker B:

It is.

Speaker A:

Nobody and nobody is responsible for your sexual health but you.

Speaker B:

You.

Speaker B:

But you.

Speaker A:

You know, and I think that we are in a space where we feel like, oh, we have to, like, tell people that, oh, you should.

Speaker A:

I'm like, yes, it's good to disclose and have that conversation in a way that's respectful.

Speaker B:

But you.

Speaker B:

You can't rely on somebody else's disclosure for your safety.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker B:

And that's.

Speaker B:

And that's what the girls are missing.

Speaker B:

The plot on Babes.

Speaker B:

So you girls on.

Speaker B:

On Threads, I love you dearly.

Speaker B:

See ya.

Speaker B:

We're.

Speaker B:

We're in solidarity system.

Speaker B:

But that's the key piece is, like, taking prep or pep.

Speaker B:

I think it's like, there's multiple options.

Speaker B:

It doesn't mean that you know something about that person that you sleeping with.

Speaker B:

It's actually a pro.

Speaker B:

Like, it's just protective measures for yourself.

Speaker B:

Stop being so homophobic.

Speaker B:

Damn.

Speaker B:

Like, like, literally.

Speaker B:

But then y' all want to lay there for a stud, like, get up.

Speaker B:

Get up.

Speaker B:

Homophobic.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry, y'.

Speaker A:

All.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

I'm hungover.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

The world is a mess through.

Speaker A:

We were talking about Kelly.

Speaker A:

God, I forget her last name about Kelly from Real Housewives.

Speaker A:

We got to Candy, then we got to Tamar, and now we're talking about.

Speaker B:

And then we got to Doxy Homophobos.

Speaker A:

Yeah, you know, it's.

Speaker A:

It's the.

Speaker A:

It's the.

Speaker B:

Or Doxy Pip.

Speaker A:

It's the world of it all.

Speaker A:

But back to Kelly.

Speaker A:

Kelly did an interview with Carlos King, and in her interview, she said, this is.

Speaker A:

This is the reason why D was asking me if Kelly was my leader or queen or whatever.

Speaker A:

B Said, I tagged you on Threads.

Speaker B:

Because I was like.

Speaker A:

I'm like.

Speaker A:

I was like, come on now.

Speaker A:

But anyways, Kelly says she set the standard for the girl.

Speaker A:

She came in her first season and set the standard for the girl.

Speaker A:

For the.

Speaker A:

For these girls on the show.

Speaker A:

What are your thought.

Speaker B:

What did Drew say?

Speaker B:

A. Del.

Speaker B:

Well, I sounded like Pinky just now because she actually hit that a little bit.

Speaker B:

She.

Speaker B:

Just a little bit.

Speaker B:

Just a little bit on the show.

Speaker A:

I love Pinky.

Speaker B:

I.

Speaker B:

What season did she come in on?

Speaker A:

On season 16.

Speaker B:

Yeah, girl, you got your last season.

Speaker B:

But then the thing is, is, like, you were barely serving us looks last season, and.

Speaker B:

But not because.

Speaker B:

Not out of, like, I think her choices with the stylist were interesting because Brit did not look like how Kelly was looking.

Speaker B:

She was trying to give.

Speaker B:

But the thing is proportions like I think that also was.

Speaker B:

She needs to dress more for her body.

Speaker B:

But again, I'm not here to criticize a black woman for what she put in a on minus the white T shirt that she wore this season.

Speaker A:

Tom Ford Flash forward.

Speaker B:

Was it from Tom Ford?

Speaker B:

Like she did say that but like you couldn't get it altered.

Speaker B:

If you gonna wear a T shirt, pin it, do something.

Speaker B:

Match it with a little jean match with little school girls.

Speaker B:

I don't know, like, do something.

Speaker B:

And then you come on there with the T shirt, some real coral blush, a red lip, some blue eyeshadow thinking you're giving you.

Speaker B:

You look like early 2000s strung out Britney Spears.

Speaker B:

Like she like you.

Speaker B:

Oh you know, you.

Speaker B:

You know how they was always trying to get the crotch cam on the girls.

Speaker B:

Like Lindsay and Brittany.

Speaker B:

Like, it looks like you are trying to get.

Speaker B:

You're getting out the Lambo and they're trying to crotch get you.

Speaker B:

You know, basically like, it just didn't.

Speaker B:

It wasn't hitting for what it was hitting for.

Speaker B:

Like you can do that when you are an icon and like Phaedra Porsche Cynthia could have threw that on, made a work.

Speaker B:

And we've been like t. Like, you know, it's just different.

Speaker B:

And I just think wants to be that girl externally so bad that she is in her delusional mind.

Speaker B:

She talking about she had horses.

Speaker B:

She had.

Speaker B:

She said I had reindeer on Christmas when I was little.

Speaker B:

I had this and did it.

Speaker B:

I. I went to school in Manolo Blahniks.

Speaker B:

You set the standard.

Speaker B:

And like she was like, these girls wasn't hosting no no events at Williams and Sonoma.

Speaker B:

These girls wasn't having no events at Bon Man.

Speaker B:

What like.

Speaker B:

And then I love how people are actually pulling out the receipts because we.

Speaker B:

I don't think people love to talk trash about like early Real Housewives but say is that they was not hitting it.

Speaker B:

Like I would say season two or three.

Speaker B:

Most of them women had Birkins before Birkin were like the bur.

Speaker B:

Like Birkin have always been for the rich community, the well off community.

Speaker B:

Like the.

Speaker B:

But for before it hit mainstream.

Speaker B:

It's like, oh, a Birkin.

Speaker B:

You know, that's just the real of it all.

Speaker B:

Marlo closed down FIPS Plaza at 1 point in time for an episode.

Speaker B:

And like, but then she said, oh yeah, because Milo is that girl.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but like just because you get a store to Close down for an afternoon.

Speaker B:

Don't make you that girl.

Speaker B:

Babes, you just bought a lot of.

Speaker A:

Like, also, you don't have money.

Speaker B:

Like, you don't have money.

Speaker A:

This is not the time to be.

Speaker A:

You know, I was just like, oh, I'm not homeless.

Speaker A:

Don't talk to me like I'm like that.

Speaker A:

You have to.

Speaker A:

There's a level of humility that you need to have considering what you're going through.

Speaker A:

Instead of bragging about what you had about what you have got married on a yacht.

Speaker A:

You were on a yacht.

Speaker A:

Like, like, I'm like, she's like, I had a reindeer for Christmas.

Speaker A:

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

I'm just like, girl, I don't know.

Speaker B:

What you got today, Jarvis, and 70,000 chompers in your mouth.

Speaker A:

This is the first time Carlos King is doing an interview in his house.

Speaker A:

I'm just like, usually he went to Shamia's house, He went to Portia's house.

Speaker A:

He went to Angela Oakley's house.

Speaker A:

Why are you Yeezy.

Speaker A:

Y' all could even do a studio.

Speaker A:

I'm just like, I don't know, I feel like Giselle.

Speaker B:

You don't have a home.

Speaker A:

You don't have a home home.

Speaker B:

But you know, or a home that you want people to see is like some people were so, I don't know, maybe Carlos.

Speaker B:

I don't think Carlos King said it, but the captions that are on top of these videos are like her riches to rag story.

Speaker B:

Like people are calling it that.

Speaker B:

And I've been like, girl, he did.

Speaker A:

Say he, I think he mentioned it in the interview.

Speaker A:

And she's like, no, I, I.

Speaker A:

Because I'm going through a rough.

Speaker A:

But it doesn't mean I don't got it.

Speaker A:

I'm not poor, I'm not broke, you.

Speaker B:

Know, but you literally had a financial advisor on the show talk about how you overspoke spending.

Speaker B:

You need to right size your life.

Speaker B:

Why does your dog have beauty expenses?

Speaker A:

Still doesn't she spend 8, 500 on clothes every month?

Speaker B:

That's what she said.

Speaker B:

But that seems a little low even for a girl who likes designer 8, 500 on clothes.

Speaker B:

I don't know what clothes you're getting 500 but a month.

Speaker B:

But that's still not enough for what these prices are designer wise like that.

Speaker A:

Well, why should I see why you.

Speaker B:

Have a Tom Ford shirt?

Speaker B:

Because that's 500 alone.

Speaker B:

That's some of your budget.

Speaker B:

But babes, these girls are sham is not spending $8,500 on clothes.

Speaker B:

She is probably spending upwards of like 12 to 15, because that's where the market is.

Speaker B:

Can you count?

Speaker B:

Girl, like, cuz it don't seem like it.

Speaker B:

$8,500 On clothes.

Speaker B:

Rag and Bone has jeans for 500.

Speaker B:

Like, you know, like true religion like has.

Speaker B:

They have affordable stuff.

Speaker B:

But it's just like girl, what people can count.

Speaker A:

But why should buying clothes every month though?

Speaker B:

Cuz she's trying to keep up.

Speaker B:

But again, clothes every month.

Speaker B:

People I. I definitely probably like buy something every.

Speaker B:

That's.

Speaker B:

She just be buying pieces.

Speaker B:

The.

Speaker B:

That buy pieces.

Speaker B:

The hoes that buy pieces.

Speaker B:

They don't got no clothes for real.

Speaker B:

You know, it's like, oh, I bought the set.

Speaker B:

You said allegedly.

Speaker B:

People love to buy a little set and then be like, okay, you wore the set, so what you wearing tomorrow?

Speaker B:

You know, it's like.

Speaker B:

But you don't got your.

Speaker B:

You don't have a capsule wardrobe.

Speaker B:

And that's what it gives.

Speaker B:

That's what it gives in your range.

Speaker B:

I hate a little bulky Range Rover that still costs all this money.

Speaker B:

They driving around Atlanta all the time.

Speaker B:

Them Range Rover was bulky and they look old.

Speaker B:

Not talking about hers, but I'm talking about them generally.

Speaker B:

Unless.

Speaker B:

Unless somebody want to buy me a Range Rover that's new and up to date, I'll accept it.

Speaker A:

And is it her?

Speaker A:

I think, yeah.

Speaker A:

Two grand.

Speaker A:

I don't drive, so I. I don't know how much people spend on their cars.

Speaker A:

I don't know if two grand is an acceptable number or something, but that's.

Speaker B:

A crazy number for a car.

Speaker B:

Note, $2,000 is crazy for a Range Rover.

Speaker B:

I would.

Speaker B:

It better be a.

Speaker B:

A Maybach, a G wagon maybe.

Speaker B:

But for a Range Rover that just is like.

Speaker B:

And is it even like super packed?

Speaker B:

Is it like souped up?

Speaker B:

You know, Know.

Speaker B:

I don't think so.

Speaker B:

Allegedly.

Speaker A:

Allegedly.

Speaker B:

I.

Speaker B:

These are, These are my thoughts.

Speaker A:

These are all alleged.

Speaker B:

It's not like it's a crime or something to.

Speaker B:

To, you know, I don't know.

Speaker A:

You know, we don't know.

Speaker A:

We're just starting out.

Speaker A:

We know what it gets, dude.

Speaker A:

But you know, that's the thing with Kelly.

Speaker A:

I think my final house question is who do you want to come back next season?

Speaker A:

I've.

Speaker A:

I've shared mine.

Speaker A:

You haven't shared yours.

Speaker B:

Portia.

Speaker B:

Love me some Angela.

Speaker B:

I want Angela to come back because Angela is good for television.

Speaker B:

Angela is good for television.

Speaker B:

I do want Drew to come back.

Speaker B:

I her to have a nice little life.

Speaker B:

I want her to have like a comeback arc post divorce.

Speaker B:

Like she's finally divorced and we'll I guess I guess she'll talk about that on the reunion that took forever who else I want to come back maybe K Michelle I kind of want to see her have also have a comeback like first season is always rough but she hasn't we getting the most of her from the reunion versus the season and she has been pretty open with her husband I do like her her dynamic with her husband and he actually doesn't mind being on the show which I also love too I think Kelly for the plot of it all like let's for the plot of it all but I don't want and maybe Phaedra I wouldn't mind Phaedra if I think Phaedra is good as like the glue of like help being like a Brit I didn't make no faces when yours.

Speaker A:

She can be a friend of glue.

Speaker B:

But go ahead a friend of glue yes but I I do think Phaedra could be I do think her coming back for another season as like a returning housewife for the second season would be interesting would love Cynthia as a friend of Cuz I know she don't want to do this show for real she's like I got other things to do I would love to to spread it out I actually don't need Shamia as a friend of even I I don't necessarily need her she's been aggravating to me but she could be a friend of I just I need her to actually Friend of who Actually I don't think friend of who Kelly Friend.

Speaker A:

Of Kelly if Kelly's a household then she can be a friend of Kelly but I'm also hearing that cuz contracts have gone out apparently allegedly crutches have gone out and I think that people are saying that she wasn't asked dude that that Shamia wasn't asked back and that Kelly was offered a friend of.

Speaker B:

See which makes sense because if you can only show but so much of your life it's like yeah and on top of that you're not really giving us much anything but crying about this ex husband for how many you know it's not we don't know much else like her businesses are okay we don't know too much about the family that I made that the family dynamic that can actually film it's just like I think what she does that I the thing about being a housewife is that you have to let them into your life in totality reality and I understand the stuff with the ex husband and like the Kids being able to film is rough, but at the same time, there's still life to show.

Speaker B:

And I'm sure she might have filmed it and it just didn't make the cut.

Speaker B:

But I just.

Speaker B:

It feels really contrived.

Speaker B:

Like it feels very much like curated for this show.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And I just don't.

Speaker A:

It's not good.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

I'd rather have Cynthia back.

Speaker B:

Cynthia has Lake Bailey.

Speaker B:

Let's take.

Speaker B:

Take us back to Lake Bailey more often, y'.

Speaker B:

All.

Speaker B:

Even Cynthia is still feeding the girls in this time, unlike her, you know.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So those are people I want back.

Speaker B:

Contracts allegedly went out.

Speaker B:

If Sham didn't get it, Love it.

Speaker B:

I think she could use a break.

Speaker B:

And like, she needs to sit with herself more.

Speaker B:

Cuz she just so she quick to apologize and not quick to sit with herself.

Speaker B:

She quick to apologize to the group for what?

Speaker B:

Like, even her own friends be like, I'm tired of this girl apologizing.

Speaker B:

Cuz if you said it, stand on it.

Speaker B:

Don't try and clean up the mean girl.

Speaker B:

Now.

Speaker B:

Not saying you a mean girl, but like if you going to call somebody a and everything, but a child of God, like, stand on it, don't apologize the next day and talking about how you really want to get to a better place.

Speaker B:

Do you?

Speaker B:

Because the next episode you cussing them out and saying their mama was swinging the low and high.

Speaker B:

Like, what are you talking about?

Speaker B:

It's just like.

Speaker B:

But.

Speaker B:

And if you.

Speaker B:

And this is the other piece too.

Speaker B:

If you are into it with Cynthia Bailey child, something's wrong with you.

Speaker B:

That's just personally how I feel like if you are into it with Cynthia, Cynthia don't bother nobody.

Speaker B:

And Cynthia be like asking the right question questions.

Speaker B:

Why shoot Cynthia?

Speaker B:

Why shoot the messenger?

Speaker B:

She not even a housewife.

Speaker B:

Like.

Speaker B:

And you won't come for her and say that she's not a housewife.

Speaker B:

And she doesn't.

Speaker B:

Friend of.

Speaker B:

Don't ever in your life come for an original like that who's still holding this show together.

Speaker B:

Know your place.

Speaker B:

That's how I feel.

Speaker B:

You coming for Cynthia?

Speaker B:

Please.

Speaker B:

The face.

Speaker A:

You know what?

Speaker A:

Well, yeah.

Speaker A:

That is Atlanta and it's drama.

Speaker A:

We'll see what happens at the finale tomorrow and all the things.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

To our main convo.

Speaker A:

We've been really at it to say.

Speaker A:

We've been in it.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So we're gonna talk about Amanda Seals for a bit, right?

Speaker A:

I don't necessarily Amanda Seals, but the conversation that has come up after all this Amanda Seals thing happened.

Speaker A:

So for A little bit of backstory.

Speaker A:

Insecure is going on a 10 year anniversary tour.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker B:

Recession indicator.

Speaker B:

Because I not saying I love Insecure, but.

Speaker B:

Who asked for that?

Speaker B:

No crochet.

Speaker B:

Who asked for that?

Speaker B:

A tour.

Speaker B:

Who asked for it?

Speaker A:

To hear that people talk, see banter with the cast.

Speaker A:

You don't want to go.

Speaker A:

I want to go.

Speaker A:

I want to go to the tour.

Speaker A:

I can't even lie if I was.

Speaker B:

What, what do you want to go for?

Speaker A:

To be in.

Speaker A:

To be with all the Insecure fans.

Speaker A:

I said I'm gonna.

Speaker A:

I want to go.

Speaker A:

If I lived in Atlanta, I would go for that tour.

Speaker B:

But the thing is like you go and sit in the audience and watch Issa, Lawrence, Molly and who.

Speaker B:

Who else?

Speaker B:

Natasha Rothwell.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

What's her name on the show?

Speaker A:

It's just Kelly on the show.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker B:

Kelly.

Speaker A:

That is so interesting.

Speaker A:

We were talking about Kelly Ashes Kelly on the show.

Speaker A:

But yeah, they announced they were going on tour.

Speaker A:

When they announced it and they showed and they were doing the.

Speaker A:

The text thread.

Speaker A:

I knew Amanda was going to be there.

Speaker A:

Like I already knew.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Was going to be a part of the tour.

Speaker A:

They did a video.

Speaker A:

It was all cute and nice.

Speaker A:

And then Amanda Seals did a video.

Speaker A:

I think at first she did a carousel of te year anniversary clips and pictures from the show.

Speaker A:

And then she did a video.

Speaker A:

We did the net.

Speaker A:

The Netflix documentary to end.

Speaker A:

She responded.

Speaker A:

So she did her own version of Tiffany not being invited to the tour.

Speaker A:

And then she also said that and then people were coming for her.

Speaker A:

Like, girl, you dug this lady out.

Speaker A:

You said she did not keep you safe at the on Club.

Speaker A:

Shay Shay.

Speaker A:

Why would you expect that she will invite you to this tour?

Speaker B:

Among other things.

Speaker B:

Things.

Speaker B:

Among other years.

Speaker A:

Among other things.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

You've kind of like her and dogged her.

Speaker A:

I remember one time on Life she was like, don't mention, don't mention her name with mine.

Speaker A:

She like on one Tick Tock Live that she was doing.

Speaker A:

And then she did a video talking about how she did a course at SUNY Purchase.

Speaker A:

One thing Alberta Seals is going to do is let you know that she went to school.

Speaker A:

She will let you know that she's.

Speaker A:

That she's an educated, you know, black woman.

Speaker A:

And so she was like, like, oh, I took a course a Sydney purchased by Dr. Blah blah, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

And she said, art is a blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

And it leads me to.

Speaker A:

Which in my head doesn't connect to the wait.

Speaker A:

Like she was just, she was just trying to say words.

Speaker A:

But she then.

Speaker A:

She then Says something around that we, we, we, we need to look at things from a place of lack or a place of abundance.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

That a piece of lack is Amanda still shouldn't be on the show, blah blah, blah.

Speaker A:

Or a piece of abundance is, is what remedies, what efforts were made to make sure that Amanda Seuss is on the show.

Speaker A:

So that's the background story of where we are at with the whole thing.

Speaker A:

If you've been on the Internet for the past two weeks, the discuss has been going on and on like you be like she's been trending constantly and she just did an interview with Tasha K. So she's constantly in the news.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

However do you want to, do you want to correct her now before I ask the questions?

Speaker A:

Because like I see like you have.

Speaker A:

Let me let you comment on that first before I ask my questions.

Speaker B:

I just think she's special.

Speaker B:

I think she's not in a good way.

Speaker B:

I, I just think that Amanda Seals is all over the place.

Speaker B:

I, all she also is is modeling recession indicators.

Speaker B:

I think she knows, the more she talks about Issa Rae insecure, which is a very, is actually like a cornerstone of black content film tv that she's going to get some trans attraction.

Speaker B:

I think she knows that at this point.

Speaker B:

I also think she knows based off of her ascertaining from like discourse online that people think she's off her rocker.

Speaker B:

I think from the self diagnosed ADHD or autism.

Speaker B:

Which one did she say Autism?

Speaker B:

Yeah, she has autism.

Speaker B:

It's more, it makes more sense for someone to self diagnose themselves with ADHD than with autism.

Speaker B:

That's a big jump babes.

Speaker A:

But this is neurodivergent.

Speaker A:

On Tasha keys in her onto Chicago's platform.

Speaker B:

Neurodivergent makes sense.

Speaker B:

People can say that they're neurodivergent, divergent.

Speaker B:

But to say that you're autistic and you haven't been diagnosed and you're like I looked at the Internet, I read some books.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And then you go to a medical professional and get evaluated.

Speaker B:

Like you're actually not.

Speaker B:

I just, you're not really modeling for black women and femmes like how to approach diagnosis.

Speaker B:

Like you're just, you're not modeling it because if the Internet is where you can get I can go on the Internet and be like I got a bump.

Speaker B:

Do I have mumps?

Speaker B:

Do I have the measles?

Speaker B:

You know, like you can't, you're not a medical professional.

Speaker B:

And the thing is, is like that's the thing.

Speaker B:

Knowledge or Excess of knowledge with the Internet is that people want to do WebMD to life.

Speaker B:

And it's like, girl, you sound ridiculous.

Speaker B:

Like, go, go see that lady.

Speaker B:

Go see a psychiatrist who can actually.

Speaker B:

Because I want it is such thing about getting diagnosed in your adulthood.

Speaker B:

I know many people in my life who've gotten diagnosed with autism in their adulthood.

Speaker B:

Fine, well, dandy nothing.

Speaker B:

There's no shame around it.

Speaker B:

But you actually have to go through the right channels to do that.

Speaker B:

And you're reinforcing the negative.

Speaker B:

Like the negative percept of seeing a doctor in our black community.

Speaker B:

Like, you're just reinforcing that.

Speaker B:

Because I definitely have some aunties and some like some people in my life, cousins or whatever who thinks a certain thing and be well off, you know.

Speaker B:

And all I can say is go see.

Speaker B:

Go see that person.

Speaker B:

Go, go make an appointment.

Speaker B:

I love you.

Speaker B:

Make an appointment.

Speaker B:

That's all you can do.

Speaker B:

But then when they just so convinced I'm getting on my, my little horse about it.

Speaker B:

But I just.

Speaker B:

Amanda Seals has proven to be someone who likes attention, who likes to be at the center of discourse and also likes to be perceived as someone who's like, like provoking good discourse or smart discourse in a way.

Speaker B:

And we're just getting a revolutionary.

Speaker B:

And that's not you babes.

Speaker B:

I think at one point in time, like she was poised to be on a track to like a Mark Lamont Hill almost maybe.

Speaker B:

And that's like a big.

Speaker B:

But when you decide constantly tear your own image by talking too much, by blaming everybody.

Speaker B:

But in a similar with Tamar, like, you know, like how we mentioned earlier in the show, everybody's a problem but you.

Speaker B:

You know, their assessment is always leaning towards a victim mentality.

Speaker B:

It's like there's only so much and then you are provoking someone who is not talking to you.

Speaker B:

Issa is not talking to you.

Speaker B:

She's not talking about you.

Speaker B:

She's not like even hinting at you.

Speaker B:

She be on these yachts in Saint Tropez where her husband that we never see and living life.

Speaker B:

And now she's about to rack up a whole bunch of.

Speaker B:

Of money in.

Speaker B:

In a terrible economy around a show that she created that then probably will stir up more pots of money.

Speaker B:

And you're talking about how you wish you would be there, girl, why you think you're not there.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's clear as day to all of us.

Speaker B:

But you apparently literally.

Speaker A:

But that's a lack mindset.

Speaker A:

She said think from an abundance mindset that why did they not work towards making things.

Speaker A:

Things.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker B:

That's not an abundance mindset.

Speaker A:

I think that.

Speaker B:

That kind of delusional mindset after everything.

Speaker A:

But I think.

Speaker A:

I think.

Speaker A:

I think that kind of brings me to, like, my question around.

Speaker A:

Like, you know, in situations when a relationship is strained, right?

Speaker A:

Or you bought a bridge, right?

Speaker A:

Do you still expect the other person to build the bridge back so you can walk through it if you strain a relationship?

Speaker A:

What.

Speaker A:

What is a fair expectation around future collaboration?

Speaker A:

If it's like you are working together, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

You know what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

Is there.

Speaker A:

Is there a world where.

Speaker A:

Because people are talking about.

Speaker A:

I think someone did a video and said.

Speaker A:

Which is so interesting.

Speaker A:

The person did a video and said something around.

Speaker A:

Is Amanda not getting.

Speaker A:

Not getting an invite is violent?

Speaker B:

Someone said that it's violence.

Speaker A:

Okay, I'm paraphrasing.

Speaker A:

But someone said something like that essentially.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker A:

And then the person made a video, like, two days ago that Amada said Skills blocked him.

Speaker B:

They blocked.

Speaker B:

She blocked him because he said he was advocating for her.

Speaker A:

No, he's.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I'll say it was a slippery slope after the video, after the episode.

Speaker A:

But, yeah, I think that.

Speaker A:

Is there an expectation that people should have that?

Speaker A:

Okay, fine.

Speaker A:

We have, you know, we have fallen out.

Speaker A:

I've called you everything but a child of God.

Speaker A:

But you know what?

Speaker A:

We're still gonna work together.

Speaker A:

You know what?

Speaker A:

We're still gonna do things together, right?

Speaker A:

It's there, like, a fair expectation that we should have that as well?

Speaker B:

Absolutely not.

Speaker B:

If we aren't even in good relationship, why should we work together?

Speaker B:

Because you.

Speaker B:

How you think that relationship's going to pan out?

Speaker B:

Like, if we don't have a good foundation already and we're not even on speaking terms, why you think I want to get on a stage with you, girl?

Speaker B:

Like, that's like, she's an example of.

Speaker B:

And but the thing is, is, like, that she's not the first person to say anything like this.

Speaker B:

I feel like people in regular life, they be like, yeah, girl, we not speaking, but why you invite me to your birthday party at Cheesecake Factory?

Speaker B:

Girl on come.

Speaker B:

Because I want only the people that love and care for me to share this brown bread with.

Speaker B:

Like, what are you talking about?

Speaker B:

Like, I think that's the thing for me is that you have to be accountable for the decisions that you make in relationship to relationships.

Speaker B:

And that's just it.

Speaker B:

You have to sit in that.

Speaker B:

You do.

Speaker B:

You do.

Speaker B:

There's people I see all the time.

Speaker B:

And I'd be like, yeah, we not really on the best of terms.

Speaker B:

I don't hate them, I don't despise them, I don't wish them bad.

Speaker B:

But what's the point of us speaking, engaging, trying to do any sort of collaboration together just because it quote, unquote.

Speaker B:

Unquote makes not even make sense.

Speaker B:

Like I don't even know if that's the word because it don't make sense.

Speaker B:

But if it's just like there's possibility there to get money together.

Speaker B:

Like why does Issa, for example, why does Issa need to include you on something that.

Speaker B:

And you.

Speaker B:

But it really just is like all boils down to you wanted.

Speaker B:

You still want access to whatever this relationship enabled, but you're not in good relationship with them anymore.

Speaker B:

So why should you have access to whatever resources is benefits that you will get from it?

Speaker B:

And I feel the same exact way around a Cheesecake Factory invite to somebody's birthday party.

Speaker B:

Why should you benefit from this big ass menu and a possible red velvet cheesecake and a bevy at my party when you can take yourself there any time of day and do that yourself?

Speaker A:

Folks are saying that it's kind of like giving an Viv the.

Speaker A:

The first and Viv.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And how when they did the.

Speaker A:

I'm talking about Fresh Prince or folks who don't have context.

Speaker B:

Mm.

Speaker A:

When they did the.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker A:

I think it was two, three years ago.

Speaker A:

They, they had a Fresh Prince reunion on like HB or something and Will Smith and the old.

Speaker A:

And Viv had like a moment where, I don't know, apologies were made, where repair was done basically kind of thinking, okay, maybe should that have been something that happened where Amanda and Issa could have found some sort of repair in that instance.

Speaker A:

Do you think that is the same thing?

Speaker B:

I think so.

Speaker B:

The thing about repair is, is like people have to be forthcoming about the mistakes on both ends.

Speaker B:

Like with the whole on Viv and Will situation will also apologize to her and recognize that like yeah, I was a shit kid at the time and I didn't necessarily understand where you were coming from and I wasn't.

Speaker B:

I was branching into my own adulthood.

Speaker B:

But repair has to come when both people can be accountable.

Speaker B:

And Amanda is not in a place of accountability.

Speaker B:

She's in a place of victimhood, for example.

Speaker B:

And when you're.

Speaker B:

And you know that's, that's.

Speaker B:

I don't know if that's her right.

Speaker B:

But when you're in a place like that, there's no repair that can happen because you just want someone to take accountability for what you feel they should versus what you.

Speaker B:

Relationships are relationships.

Speaker B:

There's two people in it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Like, there's something to react to.

Speaker B:

There's someone that said something.

Speaker B:

There's some.

Speaker B:

You can't act as if it's just something.

Speaker B:

Someone did something to you.

Speaker B:

And I think that's the thing for me that I always sit with, around like being accountable in relationships, and I was having this conversation yesterday actually, is that you have to be willing to be accountable and be open to the possibility that you did something wrong.

Speaker B:

And that doesn't mean you're a terrible person or you're not deserving of love, care, forgiveness, but it means that you have to recognize it.

Speaker B:

Like repair.

Speaker B:

That's the only way to repair.

Speaker B:

What do you think?

Speaker B:

Because that feels clear to me.

Speaker B:

But common sense ain't so common, you.

Speaker A:

Know, Like I. I think it's the idea of.

Speaker A:

I feel like in personal relationships, you know, I think that we can always take a step back and be like, if I don't want to be in space with you, I don't want to be in community with you, I don't really care for you anymore anymore.

Speaker A:

You can kick rocks, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker A:

I think that it gets a little tricky when it's like a legacy situation.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

This is a show that, you know, that is iconic.

Speaker A:

Like you said, Insecure is a huge show in black culture, for black millennials especially.

Speaker A:

This is a huge part of who we are.

Speaker A:

We were on the, on Twitter having those discourses, you know, after every episode.

Speaker A:

And so I think that because of the.

Speaker A:

That the people are like, okay, maybe it's a little bad that, you know, she's been excluded.

Speaker A:

However, there's an argument though, that the crux of Insecure was Issa, Molly and Lawrence.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So if Lawrence wasn't there, would I be like, where's Lawrence?

Speaker A:

If Molly wasn't there?

Speaker B:

But where's Molly?

Speaker A:

Where's Molly?

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So I think that it is.

Speaker A:

I get it.

Speaker A:

But I also don't see the Tiffany character as a legacy character.

Speaker B:

Character.

Speaker A:

Cuz Tiffany.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

Barely had scenes.

Speaker A:

And I know that she had her.

Speaker A:

She had actually had our things that was.

Speaker A:

Was going on.

Speaker A:

Tiffany felt like a.

Speaker A:

She felt more like a recurring character than she was even like a. I don't know what her title was on the show, but it did not, it did not give that if you take away all the Tiffany sins, the story will still go on.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker B:

I don't know how high she was on the call sheet, you know.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Like, if we, if I'm being honest, I think Natasha Rothwell is more of a corner cornerstone character than her because of her iconic moments.

Speaker B:

And her, her, her comedic relief was used as.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

A bridge and a lot of times for.

Speaker B:

Between Molly and Issa and, you know, like, yeah, they had, they were the four, you know, friends.

Speaker B:

Da, da.

Speaker B:

But similarly to like her actual character on the show, she wasn't really that concerned with and she wasn't in the plot because she had her other friends, she had her other going on.

Speaker B:

She was married, she had a kid and da, da, da.

Speaker B:

And she did have the whole mental health storyline, but that was like, that's the core storyline that you can say about Amanda Seale's character in the series as a whole.

Speaker B:

Otherwise is Molly, Lawrence and Issa.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And, you know, Tiffany have any iconic lines.

Speaker A:

You know, Kelly had growth.

Speaker A:

She had the Lee Daniel's gay joke.

Speaker A:

She had.

Speaker A:

Oh, you're broke.

Speaker A:

Broke.

Speaker A:

Like, you know.

Speaker B:

Yeah, she was tased at Coachella.

Speaker B:

We remember all these.

Speaker A:

Exactly, exactly.

Speaker A:

She was like, oh, my, my girl is thriving.

Speaker A:

You know, when you read when she saw Lawrence again, I was like, yeah, she's thriving.

Speaker B:

And so, like, growth is, is still.

Speaker B:

It's, it's part of our culture today.

Speaker B:

And those are her.

Speaker B:

Because a lot of that stuff, I believe, is like improvised too.

Speaker A:

Yeah, she ad libbed all those things.

Speaker A:

And so it's like, yeah, I'm like, I get it that maybe because it's a legacy show, but how, how, how intrinsic are you in that legacy?

Speaker A:

I think that's the question, you know what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

That is where we need to like, interrogate and have an honest conversation about who are you?

Speaker A:

And also because your beef with this person was by proxy, you didn't really have beef with her.

Speaker A:

You have, you have beef with how she handled the situation involving someone else.

Speaker B:

Literally and for her party.

Speaker B:

But it's like at the end of the day, this was your boss and you just said fuck you to your boss.

Speaker B:

Like, what?

Speaker B:

Why do you expect to be invited?

Speaker B:

That's the thing.

Speaker B:

Thing.

Speaker B:

You.

Speaker B:

This is her.

Speaker B:

It.

Speaker B:

It is.

Speaker B:

You're not irreplaceable.

Speaker B:

And I think that's what Issa's trying to like, subtly hint to.

Speaker B:

You're not irreplaceable.

Speaker B:

And if you were to be on the tour, you're a loose cannon.

Speaker B:

Like you.

Speaker B:

They don't know what they are going to get from you.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And it's Been proven not even just in this space, but when you was in Flow Tree, you know, like when.

Speaker A:

You was like the real on the.

Speaker B:

Real, she cannot play well with others and she can't take it.

Speaker A:

There are many instances of you, you know, and I think that the idea is you were speaking out against, you know, you were speaking, you know, for Palestine and all these things.

Speaker A:

Like, those are always your go to reasons why you feel like everybody's, you know, blacklisting you.

Speaker A:

But there are other people who, you know, you know what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

Like, you are just, you have to admit that you're just not the most likable person and that's, that's okay.

Speaker A:

But standing that truth, standing because of.

Speaker B:

Yourself and your choices you made, you.

Speaker A:

Know what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

And you, oh, you've divested from celebrity.

Speaker A:

If you're.

Speaker A:

That's another thing that people that say that.

Speaker A:

People, artists that say that.

Speaker A:

And, and it's a valid, it's a valid thing to do.

Speaker A:

It is valid to divest from celebrity, right?

Speaker A:

But if your politics says you're divesting from celebrity, don't expect celebrity rewards, don't expect celebrity access, don't expect celebrity things.

Speaker A:

And I think that's my issue with folks who say they are divesting for celebrity.

Speaker A:

Because you say one thing and you move in a way that doesn't show or doesn't give divesting because why are you crying that you're not coming to a tour or an example of someone.

Speaker A:

There's an artist, there's an artist who has a book club.

Speaker A:

I don't know if she said the words divested from celebrity yet, but she has moved in a way ways that, that has said that she is not down for the Hollywood entertainment industry.

Speaker B:

You talking about.

Speaker A:

I don't.

Speaker B:

And like, and, and no shade.

Speaker B:

Like let's get into it though, because I love no name.

Speaker B:

But then another recession indicator.

Speaker B:

And I love this album.

Speaker B:

But why are we getting a telephone anniversary tour when you don't like the tour generally?

Speaker B:

For real.

Speaker B:

For real.

Speaker B:

Like why are we getting a telephone anniversary tour?

Speaker B:

She just dropped a single with drum and the single is not like thought.

Speaker B:

It is there is thought provoking things, but it gives.

Speaker B:

I'm trying to be on mainstream radio again.

Speaker B:

Recession indicators.

Speaker B:

Like if that's in no shade, we all are going through it.

Speaker B:

But you can't divest from celebrityism and then be like, yeah, so I got this tour.

Speaker B:

Y', all, y' all want to come see me.

Speaker B:

Like, I love telephone.

Speaker B:

I would Love to go on the tour, but also you, you know, name like love you dearly.

Speaker B:

But it seems like you made it clear that like that's not the trajectory that you want to go in anymore.

Speaker B:

So why are making a U turn money.

Speaker A:

Me thinking, you see, this is why this is my thing.

Speaker A:

Sometimes it is just your ego or your personality or who you are and not your politics.

Speaker A:

Sometimes.

Speaker B:

Sometimes a lot of times that's just me.

Speaker A:

And so you wanting so badly to be in these spaces doesn't make sense to me.

Speaker A:

And I think that's what all these people do.

Speaker A:

And I think that we have to have, we need to have an honest conversation.

Speaker A:

If you're gonna, if this, if these are your values, leave out your values and, and stand in your values.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And I think that it feels like it's a performance at some point now, you know, I'm just gonna be unkept and be in nature and you know, let my hair fly free, you know, and be like a woke Dr. Umar or something.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I have two questions before we go to K lessons.

Speaker A:

First of all, have you ever been the one who didn't get an invite?

Speaker A:

How did I make you feel at the time?

Speaker B:

Absolutely.

Speaker B:

I think, you know, I'm, I'm very well aware of how I'm perceived and intention does not always go through.

Speaker B:

Like I, I think for myself it's hard for me to fake it with people and I shouldn't.

Speaker B:

And I think I'm also very transparent.

Speaker B:

I'm never rude.

Speaker B:

But you know, I think ways that people can perceive me can often make them uncomfortable of how they can't see themselves at times.

Speaker B:

And that's not, not on me.

Speaker B:

Like I know what's mine.

Speaker B:

I know it's other people's.

Speaker B:

So I definitely have like not been extended an invite.

Speaker B:

And also did I feel bad about it?

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

It just was information for me of where I was at with that person.

Speaker B:

And when I tell you, Harry, and I say this to everyone.

Speaker B:

The people that do not invite me, the people that maybe don't speak to me when they see me, I'm okay.

Speaker B:

And trust.

Speaker B:

I have so many other better things to do and my time is booked, busy.

Speaker B:

I want to talk my.

Speaker B:

But I'm not that because I, I, I just, that's not who I am.

Speaker B:

But I have things to do.

Speaker B:

I, I know that I'm important to the people that I'm important to.

Speaker B:

And that's more than enough for me.

Speaker B:

I have loved ones who call me who I have people who you know deeply love me.

Speaker B:

I have community.

Speaker B:

I show up for my community.

Speaker B:

As long as they love me and I'm in right relationship with them, that's all that I give a fuck about.

Speaker B:

Not someone who didn't invite me because they are.

Speaker B:

They can't be in right relationship with me because they can't be forthcoming and honest.

Speaker B:

That's not my problem and I'm not going to lay down and when I was younger of course like it made me feel bad but that's like yeah what people do.

Speaker B:

I've learned this over my life like especially as someone who you know, have a single mom, dad's still living.

Speaker B:

That was for him, not for the audience and you can include that in the social media clip.

Speaker B:

I don't give a actually them I realized that what people do is a reflection of them.

Speaker B:

It's never a reflection of you.

Speaker B:

So I try not to internalize that at all.

Speaker B:

And it used to like I, I'm a Libra.

Speaker B:

I be caring about what people think people pleasing all this stuff but on the road to decolonizing my people pleasing mind I've been learning not to give a and if and also babes wherever I wherever I am is the hottest place to be.

Speaker A:

Let them always suck your shit.

Speaker B:

That's how I feel.

Speaker B:

That's how I feel you.

Speaker B:

Wherever I am is where is the hottest place to be and where I should rightfully be.

Speaker B:

So I'm never disturbed, perturbed.

Speaker B:

I would love to know the reason why someone may not invite me so I know how to operate around them but I never give a. I actually don't.

Speaker B:

I might give a internally for a hot second be like oh I didn't get invited to this.

Speaker B:

Well babes, I can take myself out to this nice dinner that you went to by myself I don't need a group birthday dinner to go to such and such I don't not trying to flex but I'll swipe that credit card quick, have a glass of wine, split it with my home girl.

Speaker B:

That's we do all the time like just because we want to I don't need to do that with somebody's special birthday party invite for example.

Speaker B:

So how do you feel about it?

Speaker A:

Have you been someone who, who didn't extend an invite to someone so it's like oh you know I don't with.

Speaker B:

I've made it clear I, I feel like I'm the type of person I am.

Speaker B:

I, I pretty much make it known why we're not in right relationship I, I do My due diligence to have a conversation if it's not need be, unless someone did some foul to me.

Speaker B:

It's like, you should know, I don't need to have a conversation with you.

Speaker B:

But generally, people know why they may not be invited.

Speaker B:

And it's not always negative.

Speaker B:

Like, especially if, like, my home.

Speaker B:

I'm good for hosting a pregame at my house.

Speaker B:

And I've had people be like, oh, can I invite such and such.

Speaker B:

And I'd be like, no.

Speaker B:

And it's not like a personal thing.

Speaker B:

It's just like, it's my home.

Speaker B:

This is where I live.

Speaker B:

This is where I create peace for myself.

Speaker B:

This is where my dog is my child, and.

Speaker B:

And she is for everybody.

Speaker B:

So she's gonna give you love, and that's an extension of me, and I don't need to extend that to everybody all willy nilly.

Speaker B:

And that's not a diss or a bad thing.

Speaker B:

It's just like, I would love to get to know you outside of my home.

Speaker B:

You know, for example, what about you?

Speaker B:

How do you feel about it?

Speaker A:

Yeah, I've been the one who.

Speaker A:

I mean, if we're not in great relationship, I'm not gonna invite you anywhere.

Speaker A:

Like, but I know sometimes I fall into the space of.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna.

Speaker A:

If I assume.

Speaker A:

If I was gonna be is array.

Speaker A:

I assume.

Speaker A:

And I'm not even gonna.

Speaker A:

I'm not even gonna lie.

Speaker A:

I probably would have invited Amanda Seals, because I probably would have.

Speaker A:

Not because I would have wanted to, but because I'd be like, okay, fine.

Speaker A:

Because I'm always thinking.

Speaker A:

I'm always thinking about what is the public perception, which is not always good.

Speaker A:

And I'm.

Speaker A:

I'm trying to unlearn that.

Speaker A:

But, like, I'll probably be like, where the pros and cons of.

Speaker A:

Okay, let's invite her.

Speaker A:

If we don't invite her, she's gonna go on a rant.

Speaker A:

She's gonna try and sabotage.

Speaker A:

Okay, let her.

Speaker A:

Let me have her closer so I cannot lot so I can control that situation.

Speaker A:

But like you said, that's a ticking time bomb.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker B:

That's some touristy.

Speaker B:

Very diplomatic of you.

Speaker B:

Yeah, so you're very diplomatic.

Speaker A:

I'm trying to unlearn that.

Speaker A:

Unlearning.

Speaker A:

And there are people that, you know, you know, I.

Speaker A:

Invite me, please.

Speaker A:

I. I don't want to be in community with necessarily that I'm still in community with.

Speaker A:

Not because I want to, but because I want peace to reign.

Speaker A:

I want.

Speaker A:

You know, and so I'm trying to figure out how to, you know, work that out in.

Speaker A:

In a way that is more authentic to who I am.

Speaker A:

I don't give a.

Speaker A:

Because people are going to go.

Speaker A:

And I think that.

Speaker A:

I think the learning that people are going to say what they want and do what they want, regardless of, is something that I have to, like, sit with a little bit more.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And it makes you be like, me, too.

Speaker B:

Like, okay, you gonna do what you want.

Speaker B:

Me too.

Speaker B:

Like, yeah.

Speaker B:

And you can't be mad at someone making a decision for themselves, especially, like.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

But that's the thing.

Speaker B:

And I understand with.

Speaker B:

With my Tauruses, Martorians or whatever it's called, y' all want what y' all want to do.

Speaker B:

But then people turn around and be like, you know, babes, I'm fully entitled to doing what I want to do with my space, with my being with the people around me that I love and care about, who have chosen me and I've chosen them.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

You don't have no right to claim over my space in me.

Speaker B:

And that's just.

Speaker B:

And that's something people have.

Speaker B:

That's a human experience.

Speaker B:

People have to sit with that.

Speaker B:

And if you haven't sat with yourselves and sat with that, there's something to interrogate there.

Speaker B:

And that's no shade.

Speaker B:

But it's about growth, growth, growth.

Speaker A:

It's all back to.

Speaker A:

It's all back to the show.

Speaker A:

Well, this was such great conversation.

Speaker A:

I am so happy we're able to do this and that we're back and giving the people what they need.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Before we go, we're going to end with Kin Lessons.

Speaker A:

We really need to have a thing.

Speaker A:

We're going to have a thing.

Speaker B:

Lessons.

Speaker B:

Kin Lessons.

Speaker B:

We're going to come up with some sort of jingle for our segments.

Speaker A:

But yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I think.

Speaker A:

I think what I'm curious about is in a situation where there's tension, how can we work through our issues and be in community with each.

Speaker A:

With each other?

Speaker B:

This is why I said I can give.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna give it to the host.

Speaker B:

And I kind of already did.

Speaker B:

I work through our issues.

Speaker B:

I think, similar to the topics that we talked about earlier, you must be in the space for repair and be willing to receive accountability, receive feedback and criticism in order to work through your issues and community.

Speaker B:

And also, it's okay to just coexist with someone and not have bad blood and just be like, you know, there's plenty of, you know, as the gays, as we are the gays.

Speaker B:

Black Pride is coming up.

Speaker B:

I hope to see you there, Harry?

Speaker B:

I think you will.

Speaker B:

I have some like, housing information that probably would be helpful to aid your, your mission there.

Speaker B:

But I go to dozens of parties with possible exes, ex friends, you know, and I.

Speaker B:

First of all, I don't have beef with nobody.

Speaker B:

And if you have no beef with me, you beefing by yourself.

Speaker B:

There's only one person on this earth I might have tangible beef with.

Speaker B:

Two, I'mma say two at most, that actually have like done me dirty, impacted me, harmed me.

Speaker B:

D. I'm not beefing with you.

Speaker B:

Never.

Speaker B:

Over what?

Speaker B:

Over what?

Speaker B:

A failed relationship.

Speaker B:

I just rather not speak.

Speaker B:

Failed friendship.

Speaker B:

I just rather not speak and keep it pushing.

Speaker B:

I don't wish you bad.

Speaker B:

I don't pray that you trip and fall and bust your ass in front of everybody at the party.

Speaker B:

But I can coexist with you.

Speaker B:

Just stay over there.

Speaker B:

I'll stay over here.

Speaker B:

And I think for me it's like, we don't all have to be in right relationship.

Speaker B:

Be able to speak, be able to like fine tune your relationship in order to move through community, but have some values that don't lead to further messiness.

Speaker B:

Don't talk about me.

Speaker B:

I won't talk about you.

Speaker B:

What does this grandma say?

Speaker B:

You know what she said?

Speaker B:

You know, talk about me.

Speaker B:

She says a lot on, on control and shout out to sister's grandma.

Speaker B:

I think she's still with us.

Speaker B:

It's all just scissor.

Speaker B:

It's like, you don't talk bad about me.

Speaker B:

I'm.

Speaker B:

I talk about you.

Speaker B:

I'mma find a quote.

Speaker B:

But that don't mean I have to treat you mean.

Speaker B:

That's what she said.

Speaker B:

Don't mean I have to treat you, mean I don't have to treat you mean.

Speaker B:

But I just, that's the thing in situations of tension, move through it so that community can just be.

Speaker B:

You don't need to rock community.

Speaker B:

You don't need to rock the table that everybody's sitting at because you beefing with such and such.

Speaker B:

Over what?

Speaker B:

If it's really beef, take it outside.

Speaker B:

Handle that street.

Speaker B:

Handle that street justice.

Speaker B:

No joking.

Speaker B:

But I never.

Speaker B:

There's no, there's no beef that's like that great for me.

Speaker B:

Unless it's like harmful.

Speaker B:

Like, let's just move through and, and if we can't move through, then like, choose wisely where you want to be, who you want to be in relationship with, all of that.

Speaker B:

That's just what I say.

Speaker B:

There's no beef.

Speaker B:

That's great enough to have me perturbed and, and make mad.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Unless by two people that I'm.

Speaker B:

I might.

Speaker B:

I named one on the podcast already, my dad, but not anyone.

Speaker B:

Sperm donor.

Speaker B:

Let me not even give him that credit.

Speaker B:

There's not.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's not worth it to me.

Speaker B:

Life is too short to be thinking about somebody else as I'm getting a little two step at.

Speaker B:

A function.

Speaker B:

I don't care.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I think.

Speaker B:

What about you, Harry?

Speaker A:

Yeah, I think the same thing.

Speaker A:

I feel like I like what you said about people have to be willing to want to repair.

Speaker A:

You got to be willing to want to fix the issue.

Speaker A:

And if you don't want to fix the issue, then there's no point.

Speaker A:

You know what I'm saying?

Speaker A:

And I think that to be in community doesn't mean that we have to be besties.

Speaker A:

It doesn't mean we have to be.

Speaker A:

You know, it means that we just have mutual respect and love for each other and we want the best for each other, but we don't have to be all up on each other.

Speaker A:

And I think that if there's tension, we can actually have a conversation about it.

Speaker A:

We're grown.

Speaker A:

We're not children anymore.

Speaker A:

We can have a convo about.

Speaker A:

This is the reason why I'm feeling this type of way.

Speaker A:

This is like the boundaries that I'm going to enforce moving forward.

Speaker A:

And this is how I want to move with you, you know, in this space.

Speaker A:

And I think that.

Speaker A:

I think that's a way that I will approach it.

Speaker A:

But I think that people like to say things half the time, but not actually move in the way that they speak.

Speaker A:

In the way that they speak, exactly.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And also, like if I.

Speaker A:

Movement spaces, for example.

Speaker A:

Example.

Speaker A:

You know, I think that we are very quick to.

Speaker A:

No, I'm gonna.

Speaker A:

I think women's places are very quick to throw people away in a way that sometimes it doesn't make any sense at all.

Speaker A:

You know, we center our feelings instead of reality.

Speaker A:

Sometimes I'm like that your feelings are gonna be wrong.

Speaker A:

Our.

Speaker A:

Our.

Speaker A:

Our feelings are not always accurate.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker B:

They're not facts.

Speaker B:

You know what?

Speaker A:

Feelings are not facts.

Speaker A:

And I think that that happens a lot.

Speaker A:

I've been a victim of that before for people moving with their feelings, you know, but someday we will get into that conversation.

Speaker B:

But is that the title of the episode, Feelings are not Facts.

Speaker A:

Okay, that's cute.

Speaker A:

I'll add that to the list, but yeah.

Speaker A:

How you feeling?

Speaker A:

This is a great episode.

Speaker B:

I feel good, to be honest, Y'.

Speaker A:

All.

Speaker B:

Like, it's been rough scheduling because me and Harry's schedules have been like, tag teaming.

Speaker B:

Like, it's really hard.

Speaker B:

But I think we, we do the show because it fills us up.

Speaker B:

And I feel like the reception that we've gotten from the show has been so amazing and it's just.

Speaker B:

It's been great.

Speaker B:

And I just, I feel good about after every episode and I'm like, I come in maybe a little hungover or I come in a little tired or it's been a long week because we.

Speaker B:

We typically film at the end of the week and just because we got jobs and we're working people and have other commitments and loved ones pulling on us and all the things.

Speaker B:

But it's worth it to.

Speaker B:

Because it means so much to us and the reception we've gotten has been so positive and we're gonna always look for our chosen kin.

Speaker B:

So I feel good.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And it always just feels like a nice touch point between you and I.

Speaker B:

And I always.

Speaker B:

I love that all the time.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And I also feel like this show is testing and building the kinship that we're trying to have.

Speaker A:

And so when we say we are chosen kin, it's like we're now living it out in.

Speaker A:

In practice and these values that we're talking about from being in community and walking through tension and walking through supporting people in each other, you know, which is what being community, being community together is.

Speaker A:

We are living that out as we do this.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And so literally, the movement always pops out in everything that we do.

Speaker A:

It's crazy.

Speaker B:

It's crazy.

Speaker B:

That's the place we come from, honestly, our lineage.

Speaker A:

Crazy.

Speaker A:

It's crazy.

Speaker B:

You know?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Thanks, y'.
