Shownotes

This episode of the David Spoon Experience focuses on the theme of recognizing and responding to the miraculous works of God in our lives. David Spoon emphasizes the importance of acknowledging God's power, especially in the context of young people's enthusiastic praise for Him, which often contrasts with the legalistic attitudes of some religious leaders. The discussion highlights the tendency of legalistic individuals to focus on rules rather than the joyous expressions of faith and gratitude. David shares personal anecdotes about transformation and the visible impact of God's work in people's lives, urging listeners to reflect on which parts of the spiritual armor are easiest for them to put on. Throughout the episode, the call to hope and partnership with God is a central theme, encouraging listeners to seek divine guidance in their personal and spiritual journeys.

Exploring the intricacies of faith and community, David Spoon’s show provides a rich tapestry of insights on living as a Christian in the modern world. Beginning with a light-hearted yet profound inquiry into the spiritual armor outlined in Ephesians 6, Spoon invites his audience to reflect on which component they find most accessible. His engaging storytelling style, enriched by humorous anecdotes, fosters a sense of camaraderie among listeners as they navigate their personal faith journeys. This segment transitions smoothly into a prayer for those seeking new job opportunities, demonstrating Spoon’s dedication to uplifting his audience and fostering a supportive community.

As the episode progresses, Spoon delves into the contrasting attitudes of the Pharisees, who, despite witnessing Jesus’s miracles, remain trapped in their legalistic views. His pointed commentary sheds light on how such mindsets can obscure the beauty of faith and the joy of worship. Spoon draws compelling parallels between the biblical narrative and contemporary issues, emphasizing the spiritual awakening among younger generations compared to the often rigid perspectives of older believers. He advocates for a more open and accepting approach to faith, urging listeners to celebrate and support diverse expressions of worship rather than critique them. This analysis not only challenges listeners to introspect about their faith practices but also encourages them to foster an inclusive environment within their communities.

The episode concludes with an interactive trivia segment and a heartfelt prayer for a listener’s friend, reinforcing the themes of connection, support, and the transformative power of prayer. Spoon’s enthusiastic and relatable approach ensures that listeners are not only entertained but also inspired to engage more deeply with their faith and the community around them, leaving them with a renewed sense of hope and purpose.

The views expressed on the following program are designed to amplify those of the speaker and are not necessarily those of kaam, DJRD Broadcasting, or its sponsors.

David Spoon:

Hello, everybody.

David Spoon:

When it's cold outside.

Curtis:

I've got my.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up on today's experience.

David Spoon:

It's Dr.

David Spoon:

Dave's devotional Diamonds of the Day, also known as DDDDDDDS, where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.

David Spoon:

Sound effects placed throughout the show which have nothing to do with life.

David Spoon:

But the Bible teaches there's a time to laugh, and I've talked to some of you, and you could use a good laugh.

David Spoon:

The review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.

David Spoon:

We hope before this show is over, life lessons for our faith that we could actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance.

David Spoon:

What humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?

David Spoon:

Well, because God said so.

David Spoon:

And then just a few minutes ago, Don said so.

David Spoon:

So that's good, since he's the owner of the station.

David Spoon:

Also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.

David Spoon:

Living this life.

David Spoon:

Oh.

David Spoon:

Welcome to the David Spoon Experience, local, national and heavenly talk.

David Spoon:

My name is Dr.

David Spoon:

David Spoon.

David Spoon:

I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.

David Spoon:

Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.

David Spoon:

Here is the key to the show.

David Spoon:

We don't know what we're doing.

David Spoon:

We've been telling you that for almost six years.

David Spoon:

I see no reason to think that's gonna change.

David Spoon:

We have no idea what's gonna happen.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

We don't care.

David Spoon:

Because for the next few minutes, I want to talk hope with you.

David Spoon:

So here we go.

David Spoon:

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

David Spoon:

Here's a good one.

David Spoon:

I want you to think about this.

David Spoon:

Consider this.

David Spoon:

You might even have to look it up in the Bible.

David Spoon:

It's one of those things you got to consider.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

Which part of the armor?

David Spoon:

In Ephesians, chapter 6, which part of the armor is the easiest for you to put on?

David Spoon:

Let's talk about the armor.

David Spoon:

Which part of the armor is the easiest for you to put on?

David Spoon:

If you don't know what the armor is, you got to go to Ephesians 6.

David Spoon:

, go all the way through to:

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

So we're asking that question.

David Spoon:

We're asking questions about what it is when we're living life as A Christian.

David Spoon:

How do we handle that?

David Spoon:

Well, it's a fair question.

David Spoon:

Sometimes we talk about the negative side of things.

David Spoon:

Hey, let's flip on the other side here.

David Spoon:

Keeping it simple, which part of the armor is easiest for you to put on?

David Spoon:

If you have a response to that question, an opinion, a comment, a thought, or your own question, here it is.

David Spoon:

Don't let it die of loneliness.

David Spoon:

Just reach out and give us a holla.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Talking to Jammin Jacob is like talking to a person that you can.

David Spoon:

Thank you, David.

David Spoon:

Happy Tuesday.

David Spoon:

Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

I'm sure you had a chance to talk to Don and somewhere in that conversation came up Philadelphia Eagles, since that is his home of origin.

David Spoon:

So I know one person who's really happy about the Super Bowl.

David Spoon:

So that's the, that's Don.

David Spoon:

Between David, Jennifer, Jacob and Don, that's one out of four.

David Spoon:

Well, he mentioned that in the Super Bowl.

David Spoon:

I think more people than ever before will be pulling for the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

David Spoon:

I think that's probably true.

David Spoon:

I'm going to say he's probably correct about that.

David Spoon:

All right, anyway, let's get into the different things that we got going on.

David Spoon:

I do want to put a couple of things in your guys hearts and minds.

David Spoon:

We're going to be bringing back the Buddies process.

David Spoon:

You're thinking, what's the Buddies process?

David Spoon:

In February we're going to start doing FEB Buddies.

David Spoon:

So Feb Buddies means that while you're listening to the show, somebody calls in or somebody that I mentioned, something goes on and you hear a person's name, whether from me or from somebody else, however it happens and you commit to praying for that person throughout the month.

David Spoon:

That doesn't mean you have to pray perfectly.

David Spoon:

It doesn't mean you have to pray 16 hours a day for that person.

David Spoon:

But Paul said, I mention you in prayer, it'd be nicer if we could kind of operate more of the biblical aspects of these things.

David Spoon:

But if there's somebody that you come across and it's like ding, ding, ding, that would be your fed buddy.

David Spoon:

You pick it.

David Spoon:

It's between you and the Lord who that's gonna be and you pray for that person throughout the month.

David Spoon:

That's coming up relatively soon.

David Spoon:

The other thing is we're gonna be Praying for Jeanette in a little bit.

David Spoon:

She's going through.

David Spoon:

She got through a lot of migraines and different physical things.

David Spoon:

We're gonna be praying for her a little later on in the show.

David Spoon:

But I want to start off this particular segment praying for people and their jobs.

David Spoon:

Some people are looking for new opportunities and ventures.

David Spoon:

Some people are reaching out.

David Spoon:

They're looking into this new year, thinking this is a great time for this to take place.

David Spoon:

We only want what the Lord wants.

David Spoon:

We don't want.

David Spoon:

You know, if we just get what we want, there's going to be a lot of problems.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

What we want is what the Lord wants.

David Spoon:

We want to do these things in partnership with God.

David Spoon:

So there's many people out there who are looking, are looking to make changes, are looking to step into something new, are looking to transition or go up, go back, whatever the case may be, we need to do this with the Lord.

David Spoon:

So I'm gonna pray over everybody, including Shell and including Noah, our very own Robo producer from days on past, looking for some opportunities.

David Spoon:

Let's pray that the Lord gives favor for these people.

David Spoon:

Can you use your faith with mine and bring it together?

David Spoon:

I know you can do this.

David Spoon:

Do this with me.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now, and I just want to thank you and praise you for the opportunities that you have given each of us throughout this journey.

David Spoon:

In fact, some of those opportunities certainly didn't deserve it.

David Spoon:

You blessed us in those opportunities.

David Spoon:

You blessed us in places to serve, to honor you, to do well, to do right, to do a righteous job with all our heart.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, we have people that are looking for something that's new.

David Spoon:

They're looking for something that's different.

David Spoon:

Maybe a change, maybe a growth, maybe a different direction in there.

David Spoon:

Maybe a more clarity, Lord, for what they need to be putting their hands to.

David Spoon:

Lord, I understand that you understand it because you understand us.

David Spoon:

But I understand that same feeling of going, is it this?

David Spoon:

Is this?

David Spoon:

So, Lord, here's my prayer for all of us.

David Spoon:

Partner with us and don't be the silent partner.

David Spoon:

Be the primary partner and guide us and direct us.

David Spoon:

Your word teaches clear that if we lack wisdom, we can ask you and you will give it without finding fault.

David Spoon:

And we believe you.

David Spoon:

We trust you.

David Spoon:

We ask for your wisdom and your help in making decisions.

David Spoon:

Make it clear where we should step, what we should put our hands to, where you want us to be and what do you want us to do so that we can do the best that we can to live for your glory.

David Spoon:

And to live in that partnership and connection with you.

David Spoon:

Father, I ask you in the name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that you would make known to those that need to know what it is they should be doing, where it is they should be doing it, and how to go about that whole process.

David Spoon:

Be the majority partner in these relationships.

David Spoon:

We throw ourselves before you and ask for the wisdom that comes from the King.

David Spoon:

And we pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

David Spoon:

Amen and Amen.

David Spoon:

Okay, okay.

David Spoon:

It's all right.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Here we go.

David Spoon:

So we are in Matthew for those who do not know.

David Spoon:

And this is going to be.

David Spoon:

I don't want to say it's going to be a little fiery.

David Spoon:

Maybe a little fiery.

David Spoon:

Could be a little fiery, we'll see.

David Spoon:

But for those that do not know, we are in Matthew 21, and we're picking up in verse 15, verse 15.

David Spoon:

And here we go.

David Spoon:

If.

David Spoon:

And here's what it says in verse 15.

David Spoon:

Remember, we just came out of this situation where Jesus was flipping over the tables and he was driving out the animals and he was knocking things over.

David Spoon:

He drove off the animals with a whip.

David Spoon:

We already talked about this.

David Spoon:

Jesus a pacifist.

David Spoon:

Not likely.

David Spoon:

And so here he's cleaning it up.

David Spoon:

He's telling the church to clean it up.

David Spoon:

In verse 14 of Matthew 21, we find out that the blind and the lame came to him and.

David Spoon:

And he healed them there in the temple.

David Spoon:

That's what the temple is for.

David Spoon:

So now he's going to get a response.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

Somebody's going to respond to that?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Verse 15.

David Spoon:

The leading priests and the teachers of the religious law saw these wonderful miracles and even heard the little children in the temple shouting, praise God for the Son of David.

David Spoon:

But they were indignant and asked Jesus, do you hear what these children are saying?

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Jesus replied, haven't you ever read in the Scriptures?

David Spoon:

For they say you have taught children and infants to give you praise.

David Spoon:

Then he returned to Bethany, where he stayed overnight.

David Spoon:

So much in this that we want to get into.

David Spoon:

But let's start with this.

David Spoon:

The leading priests and the teachers of the religious law saw the wonderful miracles that Jesus was performing.

David Spoon:

Before you get weird on it, let's just understand.

David Spoon:

Jesus cleans up the church or cleans up the temple, and he starts healing people who are blind and are lame, and they're coming to God in the temple.

David Spoon:

There's the whole general purpose there.

David Spoon:

And so the leaders, the leading priests and the teachers of the law, they saw what was taking place.

David Spoon:

So I want to make this point.

David Spoon:

It should be noted even from this text that people witnessed the miracles of Jesus whether they were believers or not.

David Spoon:

They knew it was happening.

David Spoon:

Even if they didn't accept Jesus as Messiah, they could not deny that something extraordinary was taking place.

David Spoon:

When I became a Christian and the Lord delivered me in the initial phases, my family was kind of like, whatever, right?

David Spoon:

Just a phase he's going through.

David Spoon:

Then when the Lord delivered me from drugs and I stopped doing drugs and I was on fire for the Lord, they actually said to me, you are a completely different person now, unfortunately, because at that time they could not accept Jesus as the Messiah or made the decision not to.

David Spoon:

They wished I was the old drug dealing Dave.

David Spoon:

That's too bad, because the Lord made me born again.

David Spoon:

And so what I'm trying to say is they even could notice.

David Spoon:

They knew something happened, but that doesn't mean they said yes to Jesus.

David Spoon:

They just knew that something happened.

David Spoon:

They even testified to it.

David Spoon:

You're completely different.

David Spoon:

My point in telling you that is people see the miraculous power of God.

David Spoon:

They see when you have those incredible bursts and moments of compassion and wisdom and insight and truth, and they know it's past you, they know something's going on.

David Spoon:

That doesn't mean they say yes to Jesus, but they know it.

David Spoon:

And so what we want to focus in on is how the Pharisees, and remember, these are very legalistic people.

David Spoon:

This is not all the rabbis of today.

David Spoon:

That's absurd.

David Spoon:

These people just had so much power.

David Spoon:

These are much more the politicians than they are the rabbis of today.

David Spoon:

And so the idea behind this is these people who are watching Jesus, they're getting legalistic.

David Spoon:

And what happens when you get legalistic?

David Spoon:

Can I drop this in your.

David Spoon:

I just got to drop this in your lap.

David Spoon:

What happens?

David Spoon:

Legalistic people focus on the wrong things.

David Spoon:

I want you to hear what I said.

David Spoon:

Legalistic people focus on the wrong things.

David Spoon:

They heard the children in the temple shouting, praise God for the Son of David.

David Spoon:

Now, I don't want you to think little children and have this in your mind.

David Spoon:

These are five, six and seven year olds.

David Spoon:

That's actually not correct.

David Spoon:

Anybody who was 20 years or younger was considered a little child.

David Spoon:

This is much more likely 13, 14, 15, 18, that type of person.

David Spoon:

And they're shouting.

David Spoon:

Technically they could have even been in their early 20s, but that's a whole separate thing.

David Spoon:

So the idea here is they're shouting and they're giving praise.

David Spoon:

So here what they're doing.

David Spoon:

What are they doing?

David Spoon:

Are they focusing on the miracles.

David Spoon:

Are they focusing on the change?

David Spoon:

Are they focusing on the awesome things that God is doing?

David Spoon:

No, they are focusing on their legalism.

David Spoon:

So if you have a legalistic Larry or a legalistic Lynette, it is simple understanding.

David Spoon:

They focus on the things that are true to them, but not to God.

David Spoon:

As Don said, they operate out of their truth, not God's truth.

David Spoon:

So the Pharisees were indignant because these young people were shouting and praising God for all the miracles that were taking place.

David Spoon:

These young people were joyful.

David Spoon:

They were excited to see the power of God manifesting.

David Spoon:

I don't think it should surprise any of us that high schools and colleges are having their own set of revival while the people who are at post 40 are having their own set of chosen frozen attitudes, while these younger people are hungrier and hungrier for God.

David Spoon:

I'll drop one in your lap that just came out the other day.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

The percentage of young men and women that want to have sex before they're married has dropped substantially in the last five years.

David Spoon:

There's nothing you can say.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because God is doing something.

David Spoon:

And all of this promotion for sex and sex sells and it's all about sex is starting to wither on the vine.

David Spoon:

That's the truth.

David Spoon:

It's statistically true.

David Spoon:

And believe me, nobody in Wall street wants that to happen.

David Spoon:

That's not going to help them, but it will help the nation have a righteous heart before God.

David Spoon:

So instead of.

David Spoon:

What was that title on the news thing?

David Spoon:

Instead of Girls Gone Wild, it's now Girls Gone Bible.

David Spoon:

And it's changing why?

David Spoon:

Because God is changing it.

David Spoon:

Because revival comes from God.

David Spoon:

That's why.

David Spoon:

So I want you to catch that.

David Spoon:

But now here's the thing I want to jump on because, you know, I have to.

David Spoon:

The Pharisees were focusing on the enthusiasm and the praise and the happy and the awesome awesome that these young people were experiencing.

David Spoon:

And listen to this.

David Spoon:

They were upset.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

Because the young people were praising God.

David Spoon:

I want you to think about that.

David Spoon:

I want you to stop for a second.

David Spoon:

I want you to stop.

David Spoon:

Don't stop.

David Spoon:

Don't try and compartmentalize everything.

David Spoon:

Stop.

David Spoon:

Stop.

David Spoon:

They were mad because the younger people were praising God.

David Spoon:

Now how bizarre is that?

David Spoon:

Okay, so let me get this straight.

David Spoon:

You guys are upset because the younger people are saying, praise God.

David Spoon:

Praise God for the Son of David.

David Spoon:

Praise God for the miracles.

David Spoon:

Praise God for the Messiah.

David Spoon:

You are mad that they're happy about God.

David Spoon:

Now take that same truth and stick it into denominations and you'll Catch it right away.

David Spoon:

If the Lord is doing something in one group that's different than another group.

David Spoon:

So praise the Lord.

David Spoon:

May God's name be honored.

David Spoon:

Well, it's not something I like.

David Spoon:

Tough.

David Spoon:

What if it's something God likes?

David Spoon:

Do you want to find yourself fighting against God?

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

But he's only doing it with that group.

David Spoon:

So what?

David Spoon:

At least he's doing something.

David Spoon:

I mean that should be the attitude of everybody.

David Spoon:

And they were getting mad because these people are praising God.

David Spoon:

So they're actually accusing Jesus of doing something wrong.

David Spoon:

Wait, because the people are acknowledging God?

David Spoon:

Uh oh, does that.

David Spoon:

It can't just be me.

David Spoon:

That seems stupid, right?

David Spoon:

I use that word a lot because I am one.

David Spoon:

But come on, that just doesn't seem right.

David Spoon:

You're mad because God is doing something.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Two words.

David Spoon:

Therapy.

David Spoon:

That's the two words.

David Spoon:

Here's your first trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you can get this.

David Spoon:

This should be straightforward.

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

This is what it is.

David Spoon:

Watch therefore for you do not know what hour is coming.

David Spoon:

What is that blank?

David Spoon:

That is the question.

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

Of course.

David Spoon:

Now remember, Matthew:

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

I had a brief talk with Don.

David Spoon:

I'm just telling you now as we're going to coordinate a meeting with Deb in the next week or so.

David Spoon:

The giving is still way, way down.

David Spoon:

Way down.

David Spoon:

Probably the longest drought we've been through.

David Spoon:

Praise the Lord.

David Spoon:

That means a river is coming.

David Spoon:

That means that the thunder is going to go off and the lightning and the rains are going to come pouring down.

David Spoon:

I'm just looking for people to be a part of those rains if you get what I'm saying.

David Spoon:

Do me a favor, check out the website.

David Spoon:

There is some cool things.

David Spoon:

By the way, updated the interview between Noah and I.

David Spoon:

It's pretty cool.

David Spoon:

I just want to make sure everybody knows that that you're praying for us.

David Spoon:

If you can give, great.

David Spoon:

If you can't, don't worry.

David Spoon:

Do not give past anything the Lord's ever told you to do.

David Spoon:

Not do anything distant from the Lord.

David Spoon:

Do not do anything that the Lord doesn't give you affirmation or direction from or obedience to from his Word.

David Spoon:

It's very clear.

David Spoon:

But we will ask you, if you can't give to us, you can pray for us.

David Spoon:

And if you like the show, I need you to do that.

David Spoon:

That's all there is.

David Spoon:

2 Corinthians 8, 3.

David Spoon:

I testify according to their ability and beyond their ability.

David Spoon:

They gave of their own accord.

David Spoon:

Make sure when you give, you do it of your own accord and you do it unto the Lord.

David Spoon:

That is what is important.

David Spoon:

Doing it right before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Get that?

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Check out the website and see if you can give there.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org Prayer request hemosinqueries.org Praise report.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

He must.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

Can you believe that?

David Spoon:

Do I look abominable to you?

David Spoon:

Why can't they call me the Adorable Snowman or.

David Spoon:

Or the Agreeable Snowman for Christmas, crying out loud.

David Spoon:

I'm a nice guy.

David Spoon:

Adorable Snowman.

David Spoon:

That's pretty funny.

David Spoon:

Come on.

David Spoon:

That's pretty funny.

David Spoon:

That's funny.

David Spoon:

All right, Your trivia question, by the way.

David Spoon:

What is your trivia question?

David Spoon:

Your trivia question.

David Spoon:

Oh, yeah, I remember.

David Spoon:

Watch.

David Spoon:

Therefore, for you do not know what hour your blank is coming.

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

Somebody is on the line to answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Curtis:

Happy Tuesday, David.

Curtis:

This is Curtis, my brother.

David Spoon:

Hey, Curtis.

David Spoon:

How are you, bro?

Curtis:

Man, I'm great, my friend.

Curtis:

How are you doing?

David Spoon:

I'm doing wonderful.

David Spoon:

I'm doing really good.

David Spoon:

I'm kind of glad we don't have to do the drip, drip, drip thing anymore for the pipes.

David Spoon:

So I'm a little happy about that.

David Spoon:

I must confess.

David Spoon:

It's like, that was enough.

Curtis:

It's funny how much those little drips will make your water bill go up too.

Curtis:

You gotta love that.

David Spoon:

Exactly.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

Like, what happened?

David Spoon:

Oh, yeah.

David Spoon:

But that's better than pipes bursting, so there's no question.

David Spoon:

I actually have a relative who lives in Michigan, and they didn't do the drip, drip, drip when it went to 18 degrees and the pipes burst.

David Spoon:

So they were not Too happy about that.

David Spoon:

They were telling me, oh, man.

David Spoon:

I'm like, keep it dripping, Keep it dripping.

David Spoon:

Anyway, let me set you up, and then you can go from there.

David Spoon:

You ready?

Curtis:

Yes, sir.

David Spoon:

All right, watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your coming.

David Spoon:

What is that?

Curtis:

Your Lord.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

Amundo, sir.

David Spoon:

It could be, Lord.

David Spoon:

It could be Master.

David Spoon:

Any of those derivatives from the word Lord.

David Spoon:

That is correct.

David Spoon:

And Jesus is like, look, you don't know what hour your Lord is coming.

David Spoon:

And that is true collectively.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

Everybody says, oh, I know what time.

David Spoon:

No, you don't.

David Spoon:

And it's also true individually.

David Spoon:

So it's like, keep that in mind, Right?

Curtis:

Absolutely.

David Spoon:

How you doing, brother?

David Spoon:

Anything we can pray for you about?

Curtis:

Do I have time for a quick prayer request?

David Spoon:

Yes, absolutely.

David Spoon:

Absolutely, brother, Absolutely.

Curtis:

I would like to send up some prayers for my sweet friend Robin.

Curtis:

She.

Curtis:

We talked before about her.

Curtis:

She's still struggling with the tapering.

Curtis:

And then, as if things weren't bad enough, a couple of weeks ago, she lost her job.

Curtis:

So.

Curtis:

Because she worked from home, so she's a.

Curtis:

She's really in a.

Curtis:

In a dark place right now.

Curtis:

I've been trying my best to keep her spirits lifted and keep positivity in her life.

Curtis:

And I keep telling her, you know, Jesus is gonna make something beautiful out of you.

Curtis:

He takes broken things and creates beautiful things.

Curtis:

Just hang in there, you know?

Curtis:

And so that's what I've been telling her.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

And her name is Robin.

David Spoon:

Was it Robin?

Curtis:

Yes.

Curtis:

Yes, David.

David Spoon:

All right, let's pray for her right now.

David Spoon:

Let's do it.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now.

David Spoon:

I just want to thank you for our brother.

David Spoon:

He's a blessing, and we ask you to bless him and let him know we appreciate him, and we lift up Robin to you.

David Spoon:

And, Lord, she needs help, and she's not sure where it's coming from, and she's trying to figure it out.

David Spoon:

And if, Lord, if you will, just open her eyes and just touch her heart, give her a great situation that everything turns around, and let her know that that situation turned around because of your grace and because your mercy.

David Spoon:

And let her, in that process, call upon you, rejoice in you, and draw close to you.

David Spoon:

Challenge her, Lord.

David Spoon:

I know maybe she hasn't seen many of your works.

David Spoon:

That's cool.

David Spoon:

Show her one big one, Lord.

David Spoon:

Show her something amazing.

David Spoon:

Bless her in just a phenomenal way and let that turn into a praise and a testimony and lift up her spirits, because she's down and she has nowhere else to go but you are the hope for each and every one of us when we get there.

David Spoon:

So let that be communicated to Curtis and let him be a blessing.

David Spoon:

And then let that be communicated to us as an audience.

David Spoon:

We lift that up to you, Lord, because you are that good.

David Spoon:

We trust you for it.

David Spoon:

In Jesus name, amen and amen.

Curtis:

Amen.

Curtis:

Thank you so much, David.

David Spoon:

You're welcome, my brother.

David Spoon:

The Lord bless you.

David Spoon:

Okay.

Curtis:

You too, David.

Curtis:

Have a blessed day, you and Jacob, my brother, it's always a pleasure.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

God bless.

Curtis:

Okay, bye.

Curtis:

Bye.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

So cool.

David Spoon:

All right, so that's cool.

David Spoon:

Maybe you'll be pick up Robin.

David Spoon:

Maybe that'll be a February birthday.

David Spoon:

Maybe it'll be Curtis.

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

That's what I'm talking about.

David Spoon:

Trying to get everybody to think along those lines.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we will break here.

What is the David Spoon Experience?

David Spoon:

Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God.

David Spoon:

For you and I, God provided his own burnt offering, his own Lamb of sacrifice.

David Spoon:

Because our presentations are not that hot.

David Spoon:

And this is where you get the understanding that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

David Spoon:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

David Spoon:

How many?

David Spoon:

All.

David Spoon:

And the wages of sin is death.

David Spoon:

That's the result.

David Spoon:

But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

David Spoon:

And God showed his love for us while we were still sinners.

David Spoon:

That Christ died for us.

David Spoon:

That's the love.

David Spoon:

He was the sacrificial lamb.

David Spoon:

And if you have never made that decision, I invite you right now to make that decision, to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord.

David Spoon:

If you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

David Spoon:

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

David Spoon:

This is where you get John 3:16, which people will say is the Gospel in a scripture which is not far off.

David Spoon:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

David Spoon:

That gift is available for you.

David Spoon:

And if you have never exercised that acceptance of that gift, I encourage you to do so by saying this prayer.

David Spoon:

And don't go anywhere, because I got another one for all of us.

David Spoon:

Heavenly Father, I surrender my life.

David Spoon:

Lord Jesus Christ, I give you my heart.

David Spoon:

Pour out your Holy Spirit, for I believe you rose from the dead.

David Spoon:

And I confess with my mouth you died for my sins.

David Spoon:

According to the scriptures.

David Spoon:

You were buried, and three days later you rose again.

David Spoon:

You ascended to the Father and are coming back soon.

David Spoon:

And I thank you for this new life you've given me.

David Spoon:

I praise you and pray this in your name.

David Spoon:

Amen.

David Spoon:

If you prayed that prayer for the first time, you are now a Christian.
