Shownotes

Matt Geib begins the second season of his podcast with special guest, Tyler Frick.

[00:02:30] Matt introduces Tyler Frick, from Alabama, pastor, author, teacher and a part of the King’s Company venture, a school for believers desiring to learn more about the Scriptures and develop their spiritual gifts and their relationship with God.

[00:04:22] Tyler begins by telling his story with grandparents who were committedly involved in the church while his mother worked as a medium, providing him with conflicting views of the spiritual realm and ultimately a serious drug addiction.

[00:05:40] Tyler notes that as he reached rock bottom, he called out to God and was rescued, pointing to a definitive turning point in a single day where God began to transform him and his life.

[00:09:00] After developing a career in the oil industry, Tyler felt called to ministry in 2018 and stepped away from that job to work with the King’s Company venture.

[00:12:10] “How did these people who all believe in the same Jesus get so caught up in themselves that we can’t do life together?” – Tyler Frick

[00:15:00] Matt observes that the King’s Company school seems to clearly aim at bringing people into an authentic relationship with God.

[00:17:05] “The #1 vehicle that God wants to use for us to experience His power and His love is that of community” – Tyler Frick

[00:19:00] Tyler tells a story of a woman from New York who joined the school to become a Kingdom Life Coach, who was delivered from spiritual issues within two coaching calls she was so impacted by the power of God.

[00:23:05] Tyler highlights that the value of the King’s Company is not just in its teaching, but in its fostering of an environment of accountability for people involved to be held under the necessary scrutiny and mutual development of community that is necessary for believers.

[00:26:00] Matt poses the question to Tyler about creating this “online community”. Tyler acknowledges that there is some skepticism around community being based online rather than in person, but he emphasizes that the same kinds of conversations, time spent with one another, guidance, and accountability can take place via modern day technology that happen within in-person communities.

[00:29:10] Tyler highlights the value of the ongoing, cyclical nature of the King’s Company model wherein those who learn and are discipled through the mentorship of the school are encouraged to grow into mentoring roles themselves, citing supply and demand for Biblical discipleship.

[00:33:50] Tyler explains the point of the King’s Company logo – a king and queen chess piece being fused together, representing the marriage of Jesus and His bride, the Church, moving strategically like chess pieces across the world.

[00:37:15] Tyler shares about his book, “Mind Traffic”, based on 2 Timothy 1:6-7. In it, Tyler says that he aims to help people understand the mental, spiritual, emotional, and even physical implications of the transformational power of God.

[00:41:20] Tyler discusses the way we understand “healing” and how it is a wholistic healing that must take place – not only physical but a healing of the heart that allows us to take hold of our own minds.

[00:45:15] Tyler points out that life is a series of choices and consequences, driven by the heart in both its conscious and intuitive sides; one driven by logic and decision-making, one driven by instinct and intuition.

[00:50:45] Matt quotes Tyler’s Mind Traffic book: “all the intellect in the world is only as strong as the revelation that quickens it.” He asks Tyler how relevant he feels this is in the current state of the world, and Tyler discusses the necessity of the spiritual revelation in driving the transformation of culture and the world.

[00:55:00] Tyler describes the current state of the nation as “heated up” in the same way that a blacksmith heats metal in order to make it malleable so that he might form it into something more valuable and precious, Tyler believes that God is heating the nation to do the same.

[00:59:35] Matt asks about the multi-generational nature of God per Scripture and how we build the church’s unit with that mentality. Tyler answers by saying that each generation must be cognizant of their differences and be willing to ask questions about what they do right and what they do wrong. He points out that generations must stop criticizing each other with such zeal and tearing one another down, but rather learn from one another.

[01:03:00] Tyler explains how to get in touch with the King’s Company by going to the King’s Company Facebook page and sending a message.
