Shownotes

Life would be a lot easier if every question had a simple answer. Instead, some of the most important truths seem to live in the tension between two things that both have to be held together. That's exactly what we find in today's passage.

Right in the middle of this letter is an ancient poem made up of four "if" statements. It speaks of dying and living, enduring and reigning, denying and being denied, faithlessness and faithfulness. At first glance, it almost feels like it's contradicting itself.

That tension echoes through this week’s reading of 2 Timothy verses 8-15. We're invited to remember what matters most, to endure hardship without losing hope, to resist getting pulled into endless arguments, and to handle truth with humility and care. There's a lot packed into these few verses, so let's jump in and see where the conversation takes us.
