Only By God’s Grace

By Tammy Lacock

“But not as the offense, so also is the free gift: for if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.” (Romans 5:15)

Paul explains here in Romans 5:15 that it was through one man’s sin that every man since has also come into the world with sin. However, he says, through one man, by God’s Grace, we are saved.

The Apostle Paul was the only man in the Bible who was raised up to explain God’s Grace. In fact, he calls the present time, from the time of his epistles to now, the dispensation of grace. In this dispensation, Paul tells us over and over in his epistles, that by God pouring out His Grace, we are saved and finally free of Adam’s sin by believing in one man, and his name is Jesus Christ. By His death, burial, and resurrection, Christ conquered sin and death, and we are saved by just believing.

That’s God’s Grace.

Today, people are still falling for the oldest trick in the book that we too can be like gods. We fall for the belief that we can do everything on our own. Yet, we will always fail and continue to fall, just as Adam did, if we continue to buy into the Devil’s schemes.

The only way we can truly be set free is not by anything we do or don’t do. Christ did the work. When he died on the cross, He died so that our sins and our old lives would die with Him. By just believing in Christ as our Savior we have a new life in Him; we are completely new creatures ready to start over now as bona fide sons and daughters of our Father God in Heaven.

Only by God’s Amazing Grace are we saved.
