Where female agency shapes culture. In this bonus mini episode, Dr. Kelsy Vick introduces Five Seats, the new interview series she's been building behind the scenes during the Trimester Zero Podcast Festival.
Each episode of Five Seats features one woman who made space in a room that wasn't always built for her. KV asks how she got her seat at the table, whether it was given, earned, or built, which rules she follows and which she refuses to, and, to close, the five people she'd seat at her own table. Wellness is still her home base, but this series is where she gets to be the one learning, right alongside you.
Season one topics include using AI to build human connection, investing beyond the stock market, mental resilience when the stakes are highest, training for LA 2028, and using breath in stressful moments.
Wellness Big Sis still drops every Monday. Five Seats has its own feed, releases every Tuesday, and premieres Tuesday, October 6 with three episodes.

Where female agency shapes culture.
2
:This is at the heart of something I've
been building behind the scenes during
3
:this Trimester Zero Podcast Festival, and
I cannot wait to share it with you guys.
4
:Welcome back to Wellness Fixes the Pod.
5
:I'm your host, Dr.
6
:Kelse Vick, a board certified orthopedic
doctor of physical therapy and a
7
:women's health physical therapist
8
:And today is a little bit of a different
episode, a little bonus mini episode
9
:chatting about the new series that
I've been creating and building during
10
:the months of August and September,
ready to launch next week, and
11
:I'm so, so excited about it, and I
wanted to share it with you guys here
12
:So some of my favorite episodes to
do on Wellness Fixes the Pod are
13
:the interview episodes where I am
connecting with different guests,
14
:experts in health and wellness.
15
:And I love learning and talking
to them, and I love hosting and
16
:interviewing, and I always enter
these interviews with nerves and
17
:excitement, but like anxious excitement.
18
:And I always leave feeling like, "Wow,
this is something I'm meant to be doing."
19
:So I took that sort of sentiment
and wanted to apply it to other
20
:areas outside of health and wellness
21
:And the conversation series was really
inspired by my love for interviews
22
:and connecting with people, but
then also my role as a PT Some of my
23
:favorite moments as a PT have nothing
to do with the problem-solving of
24
:someone's body, although that is,
like, one of my favorite things to do.
25
:But some other favorite moments of mine
happen when I'm actually connecting
26
:with the person in front of me
27
:Learning about the person's career,
their training, their journey to
28
:where they are today, what they
actually enjoy, what their passions
29
:are in And I've learned so much from
these conversations that actually
30
:apply to different areas of my life
31
:And I wanted to hopefully be able
to share that excitement for my job
32
:and that part of my job with you
guys in this conversation series
33
:The other reason I wanted to create this
conversation series was because I love
34
:educating about health and wellness and
being able to talk about that, but I
35
:don't necessarily stick to that one lane.
36
:And I know so many of you guys are
also not interested in just one lane.
37
:We have a variety of interests,
us women, and I'm no different.
38
:And a lot of the content that
I actually consume is not even
39
:related to health and wellness.
40
:So I wanted to challenge myself to expand
beyond the health and topics that I know
41
:and love so dearly into other industries
and avenues that I also have interest
42
:in but maybe don't have the expertise
that I have in health and wellness
43
:So the curiosity that I know all
of you guys have, I also have.
44
:And I know it's not just related to
health and wellness, but it's also
45
:related to so many things that are
broader than health and wellness.
46
:And it truly does link back
to our overall wellness.
47
:We can't just fit in one lane.
48
:Our curiosity, our passions
expand beyond that.
49
:And I think following that and
pursuing that is a form of wellness.
50
:So that's what I'm doing with
this new conversation series
51
:Health and wellness is still
definitely my home base.
52
:It's what I'm trained in.
53
:It's what I have the most experience
and expertise in This new series is
54
:where I actually get to host and learn.
55
:I typically have very elementary
knowledge on the subject of the
56
:guests that I'm bringing in.
57
:So it's fun to be able to host
these interviews, but also learn
58
:from these super amazing women
59
:So on Five Seats, which is the
name of my new conversation
60
:series, I am not the expert
61
:I'm just the one asking the questions
and guiding the conversation and
62
:learning along with you Wellness
still definitely sneaks in.
63
:A lot of the conversations, these
women talk about how important their
64
:health and wellness is in different
ways, whether it's mental resilience,
65
:whether it's grit, whether it's how
they structure their lives to be able
66
:to take care of their health, to show up
in the world in the way that they want.
67
:So it's not focused on health and wellness
necessarily, but it definitely is a
68
:subtle underlying theme throughout all
the conversations So here's the show.
69
:It's called Five Seats
70
:If you've been here a while, you know
I love the dinner party idea, like a
71
:casual girl dinner party where we're
just meeting and conversing and chatting
72
:and meeting cool people in the room,
and that's exactly what I wanted Five
73
:Seats to feel like The Mavens are
the most dynamic dinner party guests
74
:And five seats takes that literally
Each episode, I sit down with one woman
75
:who made space in a room that women
aren't always the most comfortable in
76
:We talk about how she
got her seat at the table
77
:And at the end, she'd tell me the
five people she seats at her own
78
:Every episode opens with the same
question: What's one assumption
79
:people make about you and what
you do, and what question do
80
:you wish they'd ask you instead?
81
:From there we get into how she
got to the table, if her seat
82
:was earned, given, or built
83
:Rules she follows and
rules she refuses to.
84
:Her journey and what she is
looking forward to in the future
85
:Then we set the table.
86
:Three seats are the same for every guest.
87
:Someone who inspires them, someone
who could change their mind,
88
:someone they haven't met yet but
think they'd be great friends with.
89
:And the last two seats are guest
dependent, depending on who they are,
90
:their passions, and their industry
91
:This first season we get into
Using AI to build human connection
92
:investing and building generational wealth
beyond the stock market Mental resilience
93
:when the stakes are the highest.
94
:LA 2028 Olympics and looking
at an athlete and her training
95
:behind preparing for the Olympics
96
:Using breath during stressful
moments and big events
97
:And so much more.
98
:Wellness Big Sis isn't going anywhere.
99
:Episodes will still drop weekly on
Mondays Five Seats is its own feed
100
:and releases every Tuesday We premiere
next Tuesday, October 6th, with the
101
:first three episodes of the series
102
:If you ever thought about who
you'd want at your own table I
103
:think this show and conversation
series is going to feel like home
104
:I'll see you guys in the next episode of
Wellness Big Sis the pod, and I hope to
105
:see you guys joining us for five seats
