In today’s episode, Jeff begins a series of shows exploring people who have created businesses based on their skills. In this show, Jeff interviews Sherri Dumbrell. 

Sherri and Jeff discuss:

1. Originally from Utah, Sherri found her way to England where she met her husband, an Aussie. They moved to Australia, where they raised their family for the last 30 years.
2. As a young stay-at-home mom, Sherri tried to find ways to stretch their budget. About 20 years ago she found the Spending Plan system.
3. Through the use of the Spending Plan system, her and her husband were able to get out of debt and build wealth.
4. Five years ago, Sherri decided to become a Certified Spending Planner and start her own business, helping others to get their finances under control.
5. The Spending Plan system simplifies personal finances into 6 categories;Weekly Expenses - Food, Fuel, Fun, and Incidentals
   Monthly Bills
   Large Purchases (Appliances, Cars, etc.)
   Maintenance
   Replacement
   Once in a Lifetime Expenses
   
6. Sherri works with her clients to help them restructure their finances, focus on their lifestyle, and provide them with accountability.

Jeff spent the early part of his career working for others. Jeff had started 5 businesses that failed before he had his first success. Since that time he has learned the principles of a successful business and has been able to build and grow multiple seven-figure businesses. Jeff lives in the Austin area and is actively working in his community and supporting the growth of small businesses. He is a board member of the Incubator.Edu program at Vista Ridge High School and is on the board of directors of the Leander Educational Excellence Foundation
