In this week's Wellness Wednesday episode, Evan is joined by Kate Burkett. Kate is a fellow Acro Yogi who leads Acro Adventure Retreats all around the world with her partner. Evan and Kate shares their favorite benefits from AcroYoga as well as the role that it's played in their relationships with their partners.

Kate also sheds some light on her work as an Inner Beauty Coach. Kate explains why doing inner work such as meditation, forgiveness, gratitude, and self-love is so important for our health and wellness. Evan and Kate discuss dieting and exercise and why they lack in terms of truly healing a person. When it comes to health, it's important for us to not just focus on the physical aspects of health but to rather look at health as multi-faceted. Which is one of the reasons why this show is called the Elemental Evan Show, because Evan looks at all elements of health, not just one or two.

Hopefully you enjoy this episode as much as Evan did while recording it, and as always do everything with good intentions and connect to your elements.

Speaker:

. Hey, what's going on, everybody.

Speaker:

Welcome back to the elemental Evan show.

Speaker:

Thank you so much for tuning in once again on this wellness Wednesday, for

Speaker:

those of you who do not already know, uh, starting last week, I have started only

Speaker:

producing one episode a week, and this is just because I want to really create

Speaker:

the best possible episodes each week.

Speaker:

And, you know, I know your time is valuable as well as mine.

Speaker:

So I want to make sure that I'm just providing the highest quality information.

Speaker:

Information packed episodes with some really great guests

Speaker:

or even solo episodes as well.

Speaker:

Uh, for you so that you can really absorb this information

Speaker:

and enjoy this show to the max.

Speaker:

And today is going to be no exception.

Speaker:

I have a really awesome guest on today.

Speaker:

Her name is Kate Burkett and she is a fellow acro Yogi.

Speaker:

For those of you who do not know what acro yoga is.

Speaker:

It is essentially partner yoga.

Speaker:

If you want to see more, uh, examples of what this would be, you can go

Speaker:

over to Ashley and my Instagram page called earth and air acro,

Speaker:

and you can see all kinds of crazy.

Speaker:

Hacker yoga movements and practices that we do together.

Speaker:

And get a better idea of what AcroYoga is, but nonetheless, Kate is the

Speaker:

founder of the paradise membership and acro cosmos in paradise, destination

Speaker:

adventure and acro yoga retreats.

Speaker:

I know that's a bit of a mouthful, but essentially she and her partner Hedda

Speaker:

lead these incredible acro yoga retreats, where you go to these beautiful areas.

Speaker:

You stay in a nice place with a.

Speaker:

Uh, I believe it's an in-house cook or the meals are all provided.

Speaker:

And they obviously do acro yoga there, but they also take you on cool adventures,

Speaker:

like hikes, maybe to a waterfall.

Speaker:

Uh, whatever is in that local area.

Speaker:

So obviously a very cool event, something I'm sure Ashley and I will one day.

Speaker:

Uh, go ahead and join.

Speaker:

And on top of that, she is also the founder of Kate in paradise.

Speaker:

Which is an inner beauty expert coaching program that she runs.

Speaker:

So in this episode, we dive into what that means.

Speaker:

What is an inner beauty expert?

Speaker:

Uh, which I was really happy with her response and her practice, because it

Speaker:

definitely aligns with mine as well.

Speaker:

And it's.

Speaker:

Very very valuable in terms of our health and wellness, and might even be

Speaker:

more important than, uh, you know, the physical aspect that we usually focus on.

Speaker:

So, Nonetheless, you're going to really want to hear the

Speaker:

explanation on that as well.

Speaker:

As in the beginning of the episode, we dive deep into ACRA yoga and

Speaker:

what AcroYoga has, you know, done in our lives as well as how it plays a

Speaker:

role in our relationships with our partners, as well as just people

Speaker:

in general and why it is just such an addicting and beautiful thing.

Speaker:

Uh, Or practice to have.

Speaker:

So I'm really excited about this episode.

Speaker:

It was an absolute honor to be put in touch with Kate and be

Speaker:

able to have her on the show.

Speaker:

She provides some incredible knowledge on this episode, and I know you

Speaker:

guys are all going to love her.

Speaker:

And honestly, I hope you just enjoy this episode and get a ton

Speaker:

of value out of this episode.

Speaker:

That is my goal with all of these episodes is to provide all of you with.

Speaker:

Immense amounts of knowledge that allow you to practice them in your lives

Speaker:

and really move forward and be the best version of yourself as possible.

Speaker:

So without further ado, we're going to bring on Kate onto the show, and I hope

Speaker:

you all enjoy this beautiful conversation.

Speaker:

As much as I enjoyed it.

Speaker:

Thank you all very much and enjoy the episode.

Kate Video:

Welcome back to the Elemental Evan Show.

Kate Video:

Today I have a very special guest here with me today.

Kate Video:

We have Kate on our show.

Kate Video:

Welcome to the show.

Kate Video:

Thank you for having me.

Kate Video:

I'm happy to be here.

Kate Video:

Super excited to be here and be talking with you.

Kate Video:

We have a mutual friend who's an incredible guy.

Kate Video:

His name's Jesse, and he was kind enough to put us in touch.

Kate Video:

Um, he knows that we both practice AcroYoga, so obviously we have

Kate Video:

a very common thread there.

Kate Video:

Um, but really happy to have you on the showcase.

Kate Video:

Kate.

Kate Video:

Uh, how's your morning and everything going?

Kate Video:

It's beautiful.

Kate Video:

I'm in Mexico and I went to the beach this morning and I'm just feeling really

Kate Video:

excited to be connecting with you.

Kate Video:

So going in so far, . Nice.

Kate Video:

What part of Mexico are you in?

Kate Video:

I'm in data Cruise right now.

Kate Video:

Okay, very cool.

Kate Video:

I haven't been to, uh, too many parts of Mexico, but I've

Kate Video:

wanted to travel more of it.

Kate Video:

Uh, mainly just Baja California as well as, uh, dfe.

Kate Video:

So, uh, want to go around a little bit more, especially in Xa.

Kate Video:

Yeah, and this area is not very touristy.

Kate Video:

It's very like rugged.

Kate Video:

I'm in the the main city, but this state of Tic Cruz is very full of

Kate Video:

nature and farms and there's no people from like other countries.

Kate Video:

It's like only.

Kate Video:

Latino people travel to this part of Mexico, so I'm getting like

Kate Video:

the authentic Mexican experience.

Kate Video:

That's, that's the best right there though, for sure.

Kate Video:

Uh, honestly, when you can get submerged in a culture like that,

Kate Video:

to me is the best right there.

Kate Video:

So that's really cool.

Kate Video:

Um, which kind of leads me to my RapidFire questions, which are,

Kate Video:

uh, first off, where are you from?

Kate Video:

Um, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, near Seattle.

Kate Video:

and have lived in Hawaii, majority of my adult life.

Kate Video:

So I feel like those are my two homes that I'm from.

Kate Video:

. Beautiful.

Kate Video:

And then yes, I'm, I'm in Mexico right now, . Awesome.

Kate Video:

Uh, I, I was also gonna ask like where you're based out of, but I

Kate Video:

think it's kind of clear all as well.

Kate Video:

So still a little mixture of Kauai, uh, Kauai, as well as the Seattle

Kate Video:

area, and then also Mexico as well.

Kate Video:

Yeah, I'm not really based in Seattle area anymore.

Kate Video:

Um, I go there like once a year to visit my mom, but I'm

Kate Video:

mostly just tropical locations.

Kate Video:

I've just been traveling for the last three years.

Kate Video:

I haven't had a home base.

Kate Video:

I just have a suitcase and I just buy one way flights and just go

Kate Video:

wear my heart or my business lead me

Kate Video:

Beautiful.

Kate Video:

No, that's, that's a nice way to, nice way to do it.

Kate Video:

I mean, it's, it's a great way to see the world and, uh, to practice a

Kate Video:

little bit of unattachment, I think.

Kate Video:

Definitely, definitely.

Kate Video:

Very cool.

Kate Video:

And then, uh, two, uh, two more questions here.

Kate Video:

What is your favorite book?

Kate Video:

So, my favorite book is Alice Wonderland.

Kate Video:

It's been my favorite book since I was a very little girl.

Kate Video:

I love that story.

Kate Video:

. It's classic.

Kate Video:

No, that's amazing.

Kate Video:

Uh, very good.

Kate Video:

And then also, what is your favorite quote?

Kate Video:

I think my favorite quote is one that, um, it's like a poem that me and my cousin

Kate Video:

memorized when we were little, and it's, I've laughed until my cheeks are tight.

Kate Video:

I've laughed until my stomach's sore.

Kate Video:

. And if I, if I could stop laughing, I might remember what I'm laughing for.

Kate Video:

. Mm-hmm.

Kate Video:

. Cause I love to laugh and bring joy in the world.

Kate Video:

So that's a good quote to live by . I like that so much, honestly.

Kate Video:

And also, I think it, it, it's cool to see everyone's quotes and

Kate Video:

books because it also like, says a little bit about the person.

Kate Video:

And, uh, even just in the short time, I can tell you have such

Kate Video:

a, like lively and happy energy.

Kate Video:

So it's really cool.

Kate Video:

I'd love to see that.

Kate Video:

Thank you.

Kate Video:

And then, uh, I was also going to ask, uh, are you, uh, is Heda

Kate Video:

is your partner, is that correct?

Kate Video:

Yes.

Kate Video:

And then so is, uh, HEDA is from Mexico, uh, originally correct.

Kate Video:

Yeah, so he's from Veta Cruz.

Kate Video:

He's the reason I'm here.

Kate Video:

That's what I was wondering.

Kate Video:

And he has, yeah, he has a movement, an acro studio, yoga acro, aerial

Kate Video:

silks based here in Veta Cruz.

Kate Video:

So That's amazing.

Kate Video:

He's, yeah, he's coming back to, to host events in his studio

Kate Video:

every so often, and he has regular classes, so it's cool to be.

Kate Video:

So cool.

Kate Video:

Uh, now for the listeners who don't already know this, uh, Kate and

Kate Video:

Heda, you both put on a acro like festival kind of, is that correct?

Kate Video:

Well, we've been doing something a little bit different.

Kate Video:

He hosts a lot of festivals.

Kate Video:

Uh, they're called me Acro is the brand, and they're based, they're in

Kate Video:

Mexico, different areas of Mexico.

Kate Video:

And what we've been doing together is more of like a retreat experience.

Kate Video:

So we've been combining like an adventure.

Kate Video:

With acro as well.

Kate Video:

So there we have a chef that comes and prepares all your food.

Kate Video:

It's all inclusive and it's about a week long generally, and you get to like,

Kate Video:

explore beaches or waterfalls or we take you to beautiful tropical places.

Kate Video:

And then we get to practice acro yoga, handstands, a little bit

Kate Video:

of time massage, um, sort of activities throughout the week.

Kate Video:

That's amazing.

Kate Video:

Is, is that how you and he met, was through acro yoga or

Kate Video:

was it through a different.

Kate Video:

Unrelated path.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

Yes.

Kate Video:

We were actually both taking like an advanced class, um, in Faia del

Kate Video:

Carmen, Mexico, and that's how we met

Kate Video:

Amazing.

Kate Video:

And so definitely as an AcroYoga practitioner myself, I, I wanna really.

Kate Video:

Kind of dive in a bit on this.

Kate Video:

I have done one episode in the past with my partner on, uh, AcroYoga

Kate Video:

and kind of what it means to us.

Kate Video:

But, uh, in terms of AcroYoga, how did you, how did you find

Kate Video:

AcroYoga or for those of you who don't know, uh, like partner yoga?

Kate Video:

Yeah, so I was a yoga teacher.

Kate Video:

and I met this girl who sh, we didn't even know each other that long, but she's

Kate Video:

like, I feel like you would love AcroYoga.

Kate Video:

And I had kind of like seen it, but this was like 10 years ago.

Kate Video:

So it wasn't as like popular.

Kate Video:

It wasn't like on Instagram all the time as much.

Kate Video:

And so I kinda like seen it like once or twice, but didn't really

Kate Video:

know that much about it and didn't know anyone that did it.

Kate Video:

And she brought me to an event.

Kate Video:

where it was just like a jam where people were jamming and doing acro,

Kate Video:

and I just fell in love like instantly.

Kate Video:

Like my body was like, yes, you were born for this.

Kate Video:

Like this is your passion.

Kate Video:

And I've literally just been obsessed and I mean, I've been traveling, so it's not

Kate Video:

like I've been part of like one community.

Kate Video:

I've been having to kind of.

Kate Video:

You know, find different acro yoga communities around the world.

Kate Video:

But it's been incredible.

Kate Video:

I've met so many people through the practice and yeah, it's just

Kate Video:

definitely a huge part of who I am.

Kate Video:

. Yeah, no, that's, that's really incredible for Ashley and I as well.

Kate Video:

Um, it's kind of funny you said that like, yeah, almost, almost

Kate Video:

about 10 years now ago for us was when we first started trying acro.

Kate Video:

There were no classes.

Kate Video:

There were no classes, uh, there was no one really offering it.

Kate Video:

It was, yeah, maybe a couple videos online that you could find, uh, which is what we

Kate Video:

ended up doing and just kind of trying it out for the first time and eventually, you

Kate Video:

know, getting better, slowly on our own.

Kate Video:

And then we did finally find a, a, a teacher.

Kate Video:

And then obviously pre progress pretty fast through there.

Kate Video:

But, uh, finding the aqua community is where it's at, I think.

Kate Video:

You find some really cool people and, uh, they're usually just really warm

Kate Video:

and open and, uh, willing to, you know, accept anybody in and, and you

Kate Video:

know, you can go and just jam and, uh, I think you can really grow in the

Kate Video:

community and also learn some really cool, uh, skills in there as well.

Kate Video:

So, uh, that's awesome.

Kate Video:

How's the community out in Kauai as well as in, uh, Mexico?

Kate Video:

Um, Kauai is kinda, I mean, if you've been to Kauai, people are definitely

Kate Video:

on island time there, so having.

Kate Video:

Set time that you meet and do something . It seems to be like a struggle, , but

Kate Video:

definitely like I always meet people that wanna do acro when I'm there

Kate Video:

and it's a little bit smaller, but I have some friends that that love it.

Kate Video:

So we'll get together and we'll just train together.

Kate Video:

And that's the full thing about acro is you only really need

Kate Video:

one other person to do it.

Kate Video:

I mean, it's awesome to have a group and have people to spot

Kate Video:

you, but you really only need one other person that's excited about.

Kate Video:

So, yeah, I, it's, it's a slowly growing community on Kawaii,

Kate Video:

I would say and then Gotcha.

Kate Video:

Mexico depends where you're at.

Kate Video:

Some places there's a lot of acro, some places not so much.

Kate Video:

Uh, there's a lot of high level acrobats here in Mexico, like a lot of people

Kate Video:

training to perform in the circus.

Kate Video:

So you get a lot of that, which is super inspiring.

Kate Video:

Um, and then a lot of people traveling to Mexico, especially in the last few years.

Kate Video:

Because it's been open and that they wanna, you know, do acro.

Kate Video:

So I've met people from all like 20 to 30 different countries

Kate Video:

doing acro here in Mexico.

Kate Video:

That's amazing.

Kate Video:

So, yeah, no, it's, it's really cool.

Kate Video:

And, and that's the other thing too is it's, it's global, right?

Kate Video:

So I mean, you can literally go to any country and pretty much find an

Kate Video:

AcroYoga community, which is really.

Kate Video:

And you don't have to speak, you don't even have to speak their language.

Kate Video:

Like I've traveled to Japan, I've traveled to France, like all these different places

Kate Video:

and, and found communities where people were not speaking English and I wasn't

Kate Video:

speaking their language, and we were able to do acro because it's the language.

Kate Video:

Of actor yoga and there's just moves that are universal that everybody knows.

Kate Video:

Yeah, no, a hundred percent.

Kate Video:

And also it's almost one of those things where after you do it for long

Kate Video:

enough, you don't need to really speak, especially with your partner, where

Kate Video:

it's like you just kind of move a foot in one direction and then Oh yeah.

Kate Video:

Just kind of lean into that side star or whatever, you know?

Kate Video:

Um, yes.

Kate Video:

So really cool.

Kate Video:

And then I also, I wanted to talk a bit about, uh, what has AcroYoga.

Kate Video:

Kind of translated into in terms of your relationship.

Kate Video:

So I know for Ashley and I, we've spoken about, you know, the level of trust that

Kate Video:

it creates and the level of communication that has to be present for you to, you

Kate Video:

know, properly navigate through new moves that are kind of difficult or scary.

Kate Video:

Um, you know, I think there's a lot of parallels there, you know, in terms

Kate Video:

of the relationship between two people as well as in terms of AcroYoga.

Kate Video:

So have you seen any of that with you and.

Kate Video:

Yes.

Kate Video:

I mean, I would say that I've seen it more in just personal development, like

Kate Video:

my life, like self development, learning how to say, like learning how to speak

Kate Video:

up and say, you know what I want, what I don't want, what I'm comfortable

Kate Video:

with, like, Personal boundaries, learning to trust myself and definitely

Kate Video:

learning to trust others, but like know when it's safe to trust others.

Kate Video:

Heda and I both were very like immersed in the acro yoga community,

Kate Video:

like acro yoga world when we met.

Kate Video:

So, um, I think definitely it's given us opportunities to, to

Kate Video:

work on our communication and have it be even more clear.

Kate Video:

But a lot of like what you were saying before, , we didn't really speak a

Kate Video:

lot because we were, we already knew all the moves , you know what I mean?

Kate Video:

So we definitely are always like, you know, pushing ourselves to learn

Kate Video:

new moves, and that's different.

Kate Video:

But it's interesting because we both sort of like, didn't

Kate Video:

have to communicate too much.

Kate Video:

We were just already, like, it was in our bodies, you know?

Kate Video:

But on a, on a personal level, I've seen so many parallels to like my personal

Kate Video:

growth and my communication with just anybody and the ac, my acro yoga journey.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

Yeah, it's, uh, it's definitely, I think, a little different for flyers and bases

Kate Video:

in some ways, because I know that a flyer is obviously at more risk than the base.

Kate Video:

Obviously, the flyer could fall on the base, but I mean, overall, like the flyers

Kate Video:

up in the air, you know, and so there's, uh, there's more of a risk factor, uh,

Kate Video:

which maybe plays a little bit of a role.

Kate Video:

But I think in general it's, you know, one of those things.

Kate Video:

, you are trying something that's new and can be scary.

Kate Video:

And it's really interesting to see how, like you said, like, is that a person that

Kate Video:

you even feel comfortable enough to trust?

Kate Video:

Like maybe you, you know, they, they say they've got you in all this,

Kate Video:

but like mentally you might not, or you know, energetically you might

Kate Video:

not feel that this person's got you.

Kate Video:

And so it's, it's really interesting in kind of like terms of like how

Kate Video:

you read people as well as, uh, definitely with communication.

Kate Video:

Hands down communication has been, uh, a really big one.

Kate Video:

You know, in terms of, you know, like if, if Ashley doesn't feel comfortable

Kate Video:

and being like, Hey, like bring me down.

Kate Video:

Let's retry this.

Kate Video:

You know what I mean?

Kate Video:

And learning how to like, respond to that and like accept

Kate Video:

it and move forward and grow.

Kate Video:

It's just been, uh, it's, it's a really interesting practice that

Kate Video:

I think when I talk about it, and no one has done AcroYoga before,

Kate Video:

they're kinda like, oh, okay.

Kate Video:

That's pretty cool, you know?

Kate Video:

But then they try and they're like, oh my god.

Kate Video:

Yeah, like a hundred.

Kate Video:

Yeah, and you really have to listen to your body, like you were saying.

Kate Video:

Like you might get a sense that somebody isn't safe and just listening to your

Kate Video:

body or like, yeah, when like head and you're trying a new move, he'll

Kate Video:

be like, I know you can do it, but I'm like, I don't feel comfortable.

Kate Video:

Like I need a spotter.

Kate Video:

I need lines, like I need something.

Kate Video:

To try this, you know, and just, but I'm, listen, I have to listen to my

Kate Video:

body cuz sometimes I'm like, yeah, I can do it, or I should trust this person.

Kate Video:

You get excited in the moment, but it really invites you to like slow down and

Kate Video:

really listen to like, cuz your body's gonna tell you, you know, your body is

Kate Video:

really gonna send you clear signals.

Kate Video:

So it's an amazing embodiment practice, but also communication with other, like,

Kate Video:

I love the collaborative, uh, aspects.

Kate Video:

Like I practice yoga for probably like 15 years before I even tried.

Kate Video:

acro yoga, and I love yoga, but it's like a self-study practice and AcroYoga

Kate Video:

opens up like this whole new opportunity to like, to get to know yourself

Kate Video:

better and trust yourself, but also like with another person and create,

Kate Video:

co-create together, which is so, so fun.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

It's, uh, there's, there's a level of play in AcroYoga that you kind of

Kate Video:

don't really get in a lot of other.

Kate Video:

Forms of movement, I guess I would say.

Kate Video:

Uh, for sure there's some sports that can, you know, obviously they're a form

Kate Video:

of play and especially if it's, you know, you're just having fun, you're not really

Kate Video:

being like super competitive with it.

Kate Video:

Like you, you could have a similar um, outcome.

Kate Video:

But in terms of AcroYoga, it is definitely one of those things

Kate Video:

where you can just kind of.

Kate Video:

Whether it's with a friend or with a partner, whatever it may be, you know,

Kate Video:

you have this opportunity to really connect on a playful level, which

Kate Video:

might sound kind of weird to people these days, but it is super necessary.

Kate Video:

Like when you go to an acro jam or an acro class us, usually you

Kate Video:

should lead that class feeling like elevated and lighthearted and

Kate Video:

like you just had a really good time literally playing with people.

Kate Video:

And I know, um, I was hearing, uh, I can't remember who it

Kate Video:

was that said this, but they.

Kate Video:

, pretty much every single mammal in the world actually has some form of play, like

Kate Video:

with their children or whatever it may be.

Kate Video:

So like there's always some form of play you can look at, like, um, baby.

Kate Video:

Wolves, you know, and they're always like messing around with each other.

Kate Video:

And humans are one of the mammals that are actually losing the amount

Kate Video:

of play that they have as time goes on, like we are playing less and less.

Kate Video:

Uh, so it's really interesting and there's a lot of developmental things

Kate Video:

that occur, uh, socially, mentally, uh, you know, that occur through play.

Kate Video:

Yeah, definitely.

Kate Video:

And we get so serious as we get older and we forget how to play, you know?

Kate Video:

Yes.

Kate Video:

So, yeah, acro gives you that invitation to just like have fun,

Kate Video:

like you might fall down, like you might fall on somebody, just laugh

Kate Video:

about it and just enjoy yourself.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

No, it's, it's, it's been a really beautiful practice and so I'm really

Kate Video:

excited to have someone also to ha uh, you know, come on the show and,

Kate Video:

and speak a little bit towards that.

Kate Video:

, also aside from AcroYoga, you're an inner beauty coach.

Kate Video:

Is that correct?

Kate Video:

Hey, what's going on everybody.

Kate Video:

I hope you're all enjoying this episode.

Kate Video:

I just wanted to take a quick second and talk a little bit about

Kate Video:

one of our affiliates Organify.

Kate Video:

So if you listen to the show pretty often, then you already know that the food we're

Kate Video:

eating is less nutrient dense than it was one to two to three to 400 years ago.

Kate Video:

And so on and so forth.

Kate Video:

Now, a major reason for this is because of monocropping, which really depletes

Kate Video:

our soils of necessary vitamins and minerals that our body needs

Kate Video:

to function properly on the daily.

Kate Video:

If you are eating a diet that is rich in whole foods, this means that

Kate Video:

you were still probably not getting the necessary levels of vitamins and

Kate Video:

minerals that your body requires.

Kate Video:

However, if you are out there hunting foraging and farming, then that

Kate Video:

might be a different story for you.

Kate Video:

But most of us are not able to do that in our day-to-day lives, which

Kate Video:

leads me to Organify and why I try to get at least one, if not more of

Kate Video:

their juice powders into my daily mix.

Kate Video:

Now, one of the main reasons that I'm a really big fan of

Kate Video:

Organifi is because all of their ingredients are whole food sourced.

Kate Video:

So they all come from these really powerful adaptogenic, herbs and

Kate Video:

mushrooms, such as Rishi cordyceps Sharga Maringa spirulina, chlorella, tumeric.

Kate Video:

You name it, they have it in there.

Kate Video:

They're crafted specifically for different times of the day.

Kate Video:

So you have the green juice for the morning time, which is going

Kate Video:

to be beneficial for the cortisol release and your adrenal glands.

Kate Video:

And it's going to help detoxify your body.

Kate Video:

Whereas the red blend is going to be a midday.

Kate Video:

Pick me up with some cordyceps and Rishi in there.

Kate Video:

And then you have the chocolate gold formula, which is one of my favorites.

Kate Video:

It's like a cup of hot cocoa.

Kate Video:

At the end of the day, but it's loaded with some really great

Kate Video:

stuff, such as magnesium tumeric as well as obviously cacau.

Kate Video:

And it is going to help you ease into bedtime.

Kate Video:

On top of all of that Organifi is also 100% USD organic.

Kate Video:

And they even go one step further to third-party test all of their products

Kate Video:

for glyphosate, which is really huge.

Kate Video:

And to me just shows that they truly care about not only you, the customer, but also

Kate Video:

just the products that they're providing and making sure that they are not.

Kate Video:

Purchasing items that are allowing these terrible things

Kate Video:

to be sprayed on our foods.

Kate Video:

And last but not least they do not use sugar as the sweetener

Kate Video:

in any of their products.

Kate Video:

They use things like Stevia and monk fruit to get away from using sugar

Kate Video:

and keep your insulin from spiking.

Kate Video:

Like it would, if you were drinking an extremely sugary drink, but fear not.

Kate Video:

These are still absolutely delicious.

Kate Video:

And trust me, this is coming from someone who has tried a lot of green juices.

Kate Video:

So I know what I'm talking about here, and I promise you, these things

Kate Video:

are delicious and you're going.

Kate Video:

To love them.

Kate Video:

So if you want to get your hands on some of these products, then

Kate Video:

go ahead and check out Organifi.

Kate Video:

They're linked in the show notes, or you can go to organifi.com.

Kate Video:

However, the easiest route would be right in the show notes here on this episode.

Kate Video:

Plus on that link, you will see that there is a 20% discount code.

Kate Video:

Kate Video:

Kate Video:

Kate Video:

Everyone.

Kate Video:

I hope you enjoy the rest of this episode.

Kate Video:

Yes, yes.

Kate Video:

So I've been coaching for also about 10 years.

Kate Video:

I've, I launched my business and I found acro yoga in the same year.

Kate Video:

Beautiful.

Kate Video:

I love how that works.

Kate Video:

. Yeah.

Kate Video:

So it was like not intentional and, um, I started actually like teaching

Kate Video:

acro as well around the same time as I started coaching, but I really

Kate Video:

focused on inner beauty, like all the aspects of inner beauty.

Kate Video:

So like your health, your gut health, your microbiome.

Kate Video:

, your, your inner monologue, your inner thoughts, your, um, everything

Kate Video:

that sort of has to, is going on inside that we're not maybe like the

Kate Video:

subconscious, the, the nervous system, how it's like working behind the scenes.

Kate Video:

All these things that are kind of happening on the inside of the body, but

Kate Video:

they affect our outward experience and they also affect our health and our vital.

Kate Video:

So I focused, I said inner beauty expert cause I'm very multi-passionate

Kate Video:

and I knew I wasn't gonna be able to stick with one topic, but I knew that

Kate Video:

all of them were gonna have a common thread of this sort of the inner

Kate Video:

experience and whatever that may mean, physical, spiritual, emotional, mental.

Kate Video:

, you know, all, all the aspects.

Kate Video:

Oh, a hundred percent.

Kate Video:

I, I'd love to hear you say that because, uh, here on, on the Elemental

Kate Video:

Oven Show, it's, it's about taking all elements of health, right?

Kate Video:

And not just focusing on, uh, one specific thing, which usually boils

Kate Video:

down to like food and exercise.

Kate Video:

Uh, there's a whole other realm of health, and I love that you

Kate Video:

said, , you know, the inner, the inner experience that you're having.

Kate Video:

Because one of the things that I notice a lot is back when I was actually taking

Kate Video:

clients on one-on-one was, uh, their.

Kate Video:

External environment tend, or, or vice versa, their external environment or their

Kate Video:

internal environment, uh, tended to really kind of reflect each other, you know?

Kate Video:

And so if you saw their external environment was chaos and their

Kate Video:

house was a mess, and they're just like all over the place, like

Kate Video:

internally, they were also having a lot of really bad things going on.

Kate Video:

And it was like if they just took care of one or the other.

Kate Video:

So, Take some time to clean, take some time for yourself, for, you

Kate Video:

know, to get away from all the chaos and just take some time to read a

Kate Video:

book and relax, you know, collect your thoughts and uh, or vice versa.

Kate Video:

Like take some time to clean the inner, uh, side of you, right?

Kate Video:

Like, whether that's through meditation or through food or whatever it

Kate Video:

may be like tended to have a, uh, direct correlation to each other.

Kate Video:

Yeah, definitely.

Kate Video:

And I feel.

Kate Video:

The freedom that I've experienced through like having location freedom,

Kate Video:

like also is internal because I don't have a lot of stuff to take care of.

Kate Video:

You know, I just have a suitcase and like you, what you said at the beginning

Kate Video:

of the show, like at like detachment, like I'm not attached to one spot.

Kate Video:

I'm not like stuck in some like stagnant routine or bad habit.

Kate Video:

Like I can switch things up all the time.

Kate Video:

I've, I've done it kind of externally and internally kind of

Kate Video:

simultaneously, but they support each other, which is super cool.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

No.

Kate Video:

And also, uh, I love that you just said that right now about

Kate Video:

how you just have the suitcase.

Kate Video:

Right.

Kate Video:

And I actually just got back from traveling as well, uh, with my fiance.

Kate Video:

We went to Portugal, um, Morocco in France, and a day in Switzerland,

Kate Video:

just like hopped over there.

Kate Video:

But you know, when we travel, we travel really light.

Kate Video:

We don't like to take a massive suitcase cuz we tend to do crazy stuff

Kate Video:

and be on the go a lot of the time.

Kate Video:

So we usually just take like really small suitcases and, you know,

Kate Video:

for, um, myself personally, I don't have a ton of clothes at my house.

Kate Video:

I mean, I have.

Kate Video:

More than I would have while I'm traveling.

Kate Video:

Um, and then definitely for Ashley, she has more clothes than

Kate Video:

she has when she's traveling.

Kate Video:

But it's so funny cuz when we're traveling, you never think twice

Kate Video:

about what you're gonna wear, right?

Kate Video:

Like you just have your suitcase and whatever's in there is

Kate Video:

like, that's what you got.

Kate Video:

That's what you got to work with.

Kate Video:

So just, you know, like this whole idea of like having more options

Kate Video:

as being better, a lot of the times just cloud your judgment and

Kate Video:

makes it more difficult, right?

Kate Video:

Like I think having more options sometimes is such a facade, you know?

Kate Video:

Really at the end of the day, it just, clothes, you're gonna look

Kate Video:

fine with whatever you're wearing.

Kate Video:

, no one's gonna judge you.

Kate Video:

Like if you wore the same pants like yesterday, you know?

Kate Video:

And so, um, it's really interesting.

Kate Video:

I, I love that part of travel because it really does show you

Kate Video:

like you can live with so much less.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

It's very liberating to just, yeah.

Kate Video:

And you only get to, like, what I did is like, I just kept my favorite clothes.

Kate Video:

Mm-hmm.

Kate Video:

, I was like, this is awesome.

Kate Video:

Like, there's always the clothes in the back of the closet that you

Kate Video:

hardly ever wear, but you should keep it for whatever reason you have.

Kate Video:

Mm-hmm.

Kate Video:

But it's like to just wear what your favorite stuff and just

Kate Video:

bring your favorite things.

Kate Video:

And also like every like month, I'll go through my stuff and if I haven't

Kate Video:

used something in like a month or two, I just get, I just give it to

Kate Video:

somebody or get rid of it because I'm.

Kate Video:

. If I'm not using it, why am I carrying it around?

Kate Video:

You know?

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

Mm-hmm.

Kate Video:

, no.

Kate Video:

Yeah, it's very firm.

Kate Video:

I love that.

Kate Video:

Um, sorry, I didn't mean to deviate away from the inner

Kate Video:

beauty coaching as well either.

Kate Video:

Um, I, I just like that came to me and I was like, I have to go on that.

Kate Video:

But, uh, in terms of the inner coaching or inner beauty coaching, um, what does

Kate Video:

typically that look like in terms of like, what clients do you work with?

Kate Video:

What are a lot of the maybe like issues that they're dealing with and, and kind

Kate Video:

of like what does the process look like?

Kate Video:

Yeah, I mean, I do a lot of group programs, so I have a lot of courses, um,

Kate Video:

whether they're, you know, pre-recorded or they're live that we touch on topics

Kate Video:

like meditation, c, body confidence.

Kate Video:

I used to do a little bit more, more nutrition, but I have like one course

Kate Video:

that talks with a little bit about nutrition and mindset owning your value.

Kate Video:

Um, I'm doing a course right now called, Quantum oceans, and it's like I do

Kate Video:

guided meditations that bring you into your parasympathetic and help people

Kate Video:

reprogram their subconscious mind.

Kate Video:

So I work a lot with like yoga nira practices and things that bring you

Kate Video:

into like a deep relaxation state because I feel like our culture is

Kate Video:

very like external and it's very like go, go, go, go, go push, you

Kate Video:

know, hustle, like this sort of vibe.

Kate Video:

I think we're starting to shift, but I feel like bringing your body, your nervous

Kate Video:

system into balance, Helps you kind of access your subconscious, and this allows

Kate Video:

you to start to change your perception of yourself and change your inner dialogue

Kate Video:

and change your perception of your body.

Kate Video:

And when you bring your body into balance, you're parasympathetic like

Kate Video:

naturally works to start healing you.

Kate Video:

So it happens like.

Kate Video:

physiological benefits are amazing, but also you get the benefits of like

Kate Video:

be having more energy, being more productive, like feeling better about

Kate Video:

yourself, like following through on goals, like these types of things as well.

Kate Video:

So I work like very much it.

Kate Video:

We go deep inside to like dissect what's happening and I do work with clients

Kate Video:

one-on-one sometimes, but I like to do the group environment and bring people

Kate Video:

together and create a sense of community and support for people that are.

Kate Video:

maybe going through this journey, this self-development journey, or they, maybe

Kate Video:

they wanna start a business or they wanna, you know, manifest something specific

Kate Video:

in their life and they're feeling very isolated and alone, like, you know,

Kate Video:

they're kind of in this mainstream life and they don't feel like they have a

Kate Video:

support system in place of other people that are doing this inner work as well.

Kate Video:

So I love to create those, those communities, um, so

Kate Video:

that people feel supported.

Kate Video:

and like, yeah, they have other people on this journey with them.

Kate Video:

They're not alone.

Kate Video:

. Oh yeah.

Kate Video:

No, I, a hundred percent.

Kate Video:

I agree with that.

Kate Video:

I also think, uh, coming from someone who's done one-on-one coaching, uh,

Kate Video:

I'm actually moving more into the realm of doing like group coaching because

Kate Video:

I feel that I'm actually able to give.

Kate Video:

More of my best self to the group as opposed to individually.

Kate Video:

Like of course, individually you're gonna have my full attention.

Kate Video:

But for me to have so many, like the amount of clients that I could have in

Kate Video:

one group where I could really give my all and like time it, well, you know,

Kate Video:

it's all on the same path and course it's much, I think, you know, coming from

Kate Video:

this, from a coach perspective, I used to think that one-on-one was where it's at.

Kate Video:

And for sure, like if you're willing to pay the high ticket price, it might be

Kate Video:

right because that person can, will limit the amount of people they'll take on.

Kate Video:

But as a coach, I'm able to give really my best to a group setting and show up.

Kate Video:

Uh, you know, everyone's on the same page.

Kate Video:

I don't have to always be scouring over you.

Kate Video:

Oh wait, what week are you on?

Kate Video:

And all this.

Kate Video:

So, um, I love that you said that.

Kate Video:

Yeah, I think, I think, you know, people.

Kate Video:

Tend to think like, oh, what I, I would rather have the one-on-one experience.

Kate Video:

But actually I, I think the group setting is really great.

Kate Video:

And like you said, the, uh, the collective society of the group,

Kate Video:

being able to all chime in and, and there's a lot of knowledge in a group.

Kate Video:

You know, there's people who have been there and they can, uh, provide

Kate Video:

you with some knowledge that you might not have had, you know?

Kate Video:

. Yeah.

Kate Video:

Other people can bring their wisdom as well, I believe.

Kate Video:

Like we're all co-creating.

Kate Video:

And also like the shy people that like don't speak up or maybe would

Kate Video:

never even enroll in group coaching can show up and kind of hide in the

Kate Video:

background and hear other people's questions and learn from that.

Kate Video:

So it kind of creates a space for like all personalities and like the extroverted

Kate Video:

personalities get to like interact with the other people in the group.

Kate Video:

And so it's like let, and it's, and as a coach I feel the same.

Kate Video:

I feel like I'm more energized by a.

Kate Video:

, uh, training then like a one-on-one.

Kate Video:

for whatever reason, like, I don't know why, but , I like it more.

Kate Video:

It's more fun for me.

Kate Video:

. Oh, a hundred percent.

Kate Video:

Uh, like, absolutely agree.

Kate Video:

I mean, I have certain clients that I really just would get energized off of

Kate Video:

with their one-on-one calls, but overall group setting for me is, is where it's at.

Kate Video:

But, um, I also wanted to mention once again, kind of on the topic

Kate Video:

of like, uh, of, of food and stuff.

Kate Video:

And, and I like that you said, you know, I, one of my.

Kate Video:

Focuses is on food and, and exercise and stuff.

Kate Video:

Definitely.

Kate Video:

But I also focus on the internal self as well, because people, they don't,

Kate Video:

in, in a way, I think our society kind of doesn't want to hear that part yet.

Kate Video:

They're like, oh, well, you know, but what about like my

Kate Video:

dieting and, and this and that?

Kate Video:

And it's like, man, there is a lot going on in here.

Kate Video:

And if you can fix that and get that right and do some really simple, like lifestyle

Kate Video:

change, that is gonna have a profound effect on how you show up, how you feel.

Kate Video:

Uh, like you said, with the parasympathetic nervous system.

Kate Video:

You are correct.

Kate Video:

We live a massive portion of our lives in a sympathetic state, and it

Kate Video:

might be low level, but regardless, you are in sympathetic state.

Kate Video:

Your adrenals are cranking out like, uh, you know, cortisol and freaking just going

Kate Video:

to town, and they're getting drained.

Kate Video:

Uh, your mind isn't right.

Kate Video:

It's constantly thinking You.

Kate Video:

, all these thoughts that are typically just reoccurring and then you go

Kate Video:

to bed thinking these thoughts and you have trouble going to bed

Kate Video:

cuz you can't like quiet the mind.

Kate Video:

So, um, getting into the parasympathetic state, taking some deep breaths,

Kate Video:

quieting the mind and just being present I think can have some of the.

Kate Video:

Most profound effects even over, you know, changing in diet, which

Kate Video:

is really saying a lot because for a person eating the standard American

Kate Video:

diet, switching over to like some whole Foods, that's pretty massive.

Kate Video:

But I still think that, um, getting the internal environment right

Kate Video:

is probably even more impactful.

Kate Video:

Yeah, and what I was finding is I started out my, um, coaching practice,

Kate Video:

like being like a health coach.

Kate Video:

And what I was finding was like, you can give people all the information,

Kate Video:

but if they're all scattered and they're like full of self-loathing and they're

Kate Video:

full of like, all this, like all these negative emotions about themselves

Kate Video:

and they're frazzled because they're in that adrenal like loop all the

Kate Video:

time with all these stress hormones.

Kate Video:

They're not gonna follow through and and eat the healthy food.

Kate Video:

And so there was that piece, like I just was really struggling to get

Kate Video:

my clients the results they wanted.

Kate Video:

And then the other piece was like, I truly believe when you slow down

Kate Video:

and you start listening to your.

Kate Video:

You can intuitively, I don't believe in one diet.

Kate Video:

I don't think you need to be on the schedule and be

Kate Video:

on a, or even be on a diet.

Kate Video:

Like I don't have any dietary restrictions in my life like I'm eating.

Kate Video:

If you afford to follow me around, you're like, dang, this

Kate Video:

girl's eating really healthy.

Kate Video:

But I let myself eat whatever I want because I trust my body to guide me.

Kate Video:

But that took a.

Kate Video:

Of me connecting with myself, healing my nervous system, healing my, my

Kate Video:

negative self-talk brain that's telling me that I'm, you know, ugly

Kate Video:

or fat or a loser or I never follow through, or whatever those stories are.

Kate Video:

I had to fix that actually first before I could be as consistent as I

Kate Video:

wanted to be with a healthy lifestyle.

Kate Video:

And so I was realizing like I need to go backwards and.

Kate Video:

Like the root problem before I can really inspire people to eat healthy.

Kate Video:

Cause there's tons of information out there like we, and if you just

Kate Video:

think about it logically, like, okay, what comes from nature?

Kate Video:

Like this is gonna be more healthy for you.

Kate Video:

But people are so addicted to that sugar and it's getting them through

Kate Video:

those, those drops when they're stress hormones drop and they're.

Kate Video:

Exhausted.

Kate Video:

It's like getting them through those moments and so they, they have this

Kate Video:

crazy vicious cycle going on inside.

Kate Video:

Their chemical imbalance in their body is crazy.

Kate Video:

And so like addressing that first and creating like this fertile soil that

Kate Video:

then you can start to plant some healthy habits into just seemed, I was getting

Kate Video:

like better results with my clients and they were happier and they were like

Kate Video:

feeling better about themselves and making better choices just naturally

Kate Video:

because they were going and working like with that soil, that deep-rooted.

Kate Video:

What was going on underneath everything first?

Kate Video:

. Yeah.

Kate Video:

Cause the food is kinda like a surface thing, you know?

Kate Video:

It's like at the top, like, so it was interesting, my own personal story

Kate Video:

with, with, you know, eating, be coming to eat, eat more healthy or whatever.

Kate Video:

And then also just like seeing that story play out with so many of my clients really

Kate Video:

led me to sort of shift the focus of how I work with the people in my programs.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

No, it's, uh, I'm, I'm so happy to hear you say that.

Kate Video:

And also, um, I know you mentioned something about, uh, gut health earlier,

Kate Video:

and one of the main things is, Regardless of what food you're eating, if your

Kate Video:

digestion is not working properly, then it's, you know, I mean, of course, like,

Kate Video:

I'm not saying that eating a hotdog is the same thing as eating like a banana, right?

Kate Video:

Like, it's, it's different.

Kate Video:

But nonetheless, if your digestion is not working properly and you're

Kate Video:

not able to properly absorb the, you know, vitamins and minerals coming

Kate Video:

from that food, you know, it's, it's really not gonna be as beneficial.

Kate Video:

And on top of that, You have people who, like we said, are in such a

Kate Video:

sympathetic state, which is not the state you're supposed to be

Kate Video:

in when you're digesting food.

Kate Video:

And you know, we have people who are eating in the car, eating while walking.

Kate Video:

Um, you know, they're, they're arguing on the phone while they're eating

Kate Video:

something, which is terrible, right?

Kate Video:

Like, I mean, for most people, if you've ever been in an argument with someone,

Kate Video:

like the last thing you want to do is sit down to a massive plate of food, like

Kate Video:

you're in a fight or flight response.

Kate Video:

Your body is literally not ready to eat right.

Kate Video:

And so, um, like you said, getting into the parasympathetic state, that

Kate Video:

alone is gonna help you to digest your food so much better if you just slow

Kate Video:

down, slow down your chewing, slow down, uh, you know, actually sit down,

Kate Video:

maybe, maybe say a prayer, give thanks.

Kate Video:

Um, you have some gratitude for the food.

Kate Video:

You know, there's so many like little things that sound maybe

Kate Video:

insignificant, but they're so impactful.

Kate Video:

And, um, yeah, like you said, Tapping within first.

Kate Video:

Right.

Kate Video:

It's, it's getting down to that deep-rooted stuff and, um, you know,

Kate Video:

a lot of times that can be like a relationship with food and once you

Kate Video:

heal that up, that's gonna make the massive shift because Yeah, like you

Kate Video:

said, there's people literally like addicted to sugar and, you know,

Kate Video:

they're eating in, in a way that they've been eating like this for so long.

Kate Video:

Uh, maybe it's fast food all the time, or whatever it may be.

Kate Video:

They just feel like that's the new, the, the normal, right?

Kate Video:

And then it's not until you take a couple weeks away from that and eat

Kate Video:

some, you know, some healthy foods and sit down and relax and activate

Kate Video:

the parasympathetic nervous system, all that, that you actually realize,

Kate Video:

oh my God, like I feel way better.

Kate Video:

Yeah, definitely.

Kate Video:

And you've made me think of a couple things that I wanna share.

Kate Video:

One is it only takes 21 days to change your taste, bud.

Kate Video:

So if you think about that, like if you can abstain from those like

Kate Video:

super addictive foods for 21 days, that's all it takes is three weeks.

Kate Video:

You can have a completely different pate you're gonna crave, your body's

Kate Video:

literally gonna be craving different foods and your microbiome, I think all of it

Kate Video:

within two or three weeks is all shifted.

Kate Video:

So it doesn't take a long time.

Kate Video:

You, I mean, you have to make a.

Kate Video:

Change.

Kate Video:

But another thing that you kind of to share what you were talking

Kate Video:

about with, it's so much about, it's so important to slow down.

Kate Video:

It was a really interesting study that I read about where they were putting

Kate Video:

people on the Mediterranean diet because we're all told like, oh, the

Kate Video:

Mediterranean diet is like super healthy and it's gonna make you lose weight.

Kate Video:

And these.

Kate Video:

, the people in the study wanted to lose weight, but they were eating the

Kate Video:

Mediterranean diet and they weren't seeing these like massive results

Kate Video:

that they thought they were gonna see.

Kate Video:

And so they were like, they're like looking deeper, like what is it

Kate Video:

about the Mediterranean culture?

Kate Video:

Like what goes along with the food?

Kate Video:

And then they were noticing that a lot of these Mediterranean cultures,

Kate Video:

the people sit down for like an hour and like talk with their

Kate Video:

family and like enjoy their food.

Kate Video:

So they said, You can eat whatever you want.

Kate Video:

We don't care if it's Mediterranean or whatever, like you don't have to

Kate Video:

follow a diet, but you have to sit down for an hour each time you eat.

Kate Video:

And they were actually seeing greater results with those people

Kate Video:

than the people that were eating just the Mediterranean diet.

Kate Video:

So to show like.

Kate Video:

lifestyle can be as impactful or maybe more impactful than actually

Kate Video:

the food that you're consuming because those people actually were

Kate Video:

like, yeah, we're slowing down.

Kate Video:

Maybe they weren't eating as much cuz they were eating more slowly

Kate Video:

or whatever their, their nervous system was digesting the food better.

Kate Video:

So I thought that was such a really interesting study about this topic.

Kate Video:

. Yeah.

Kate Video:

No, li lifestyle is, is everything, right?

Kate Video:

I mean, even if you look at the blue Zones, they don't just look at their

Kate Video:

diet, they look at what they do.

Kate Video:

Right.

Kate Video:

And there's like, I, I think there was like nine different aspects that

Kate Video:

they, they specifically look at, uh, that really help them kind of

Kate Video:

determine like the lifespan or whatever.

Kate Video:

But yeah, like of course diet is gonna play a role, but the way you are living

Kate Video:

your life is so much more impactful.

Kate Video:

And I think that.

Kate Video:

Kind of pours over into, um, you know, like the media you're

Kate Video:

consuming, um, you know, what are you scrolling through on Instagram

Kate Video:

or Facebook or whatever it may be.

Kate Video:

Like, is it, you know, is it beneficial stuff that's growing

Kate Video:

you and, and, you know, helping you to expand as a, as a person?

Kate Video:

Or is it stuff that's, you know, just low level, low vibration, um, you know, stuff.

Kate Video:

And, and I think that plays such a large role as well as, uh, the

Kate Video:

conversations that we're having.

Kate Video:

I, I've.

Kate Video:

, I've got a really good group of friends around me, which I'm grateful for, uh,

Kate Video:

because when I talk with them, I notice our conversations are very uplifting, very

Kate Video:

empowering, very like, Hey, you got this.

Kate Video:

If you need help, let me know, like blah, blah, blah.

Kate Video:

Like really checking in and seeing and like caring about you as a person.

Kate Video:

Whereas like maybe, um, you talk to an old friend from back in the day, or even

Kate Video:

a family member, it could be that as well.

Kate Video:

And just the conversations can be so like, Just gossipy and putting

Kate Video:

people down, and it's just like, whoa.

Kate Video:

Like, wait, wait, wait.

Kate Video:

Why are we even talking about that?

Kate Video:

Why, why does that even make it into our conversation?

Kate Video:

Like, why are we wasting time on that?

Kate Video:

Right?

Kate Video:

Like, that's their life.

Kate Video:

And so I, I find that it's very, uh, you know, as, as I'm getting

Kate Video:

older and just kind of like going through life, I'm really noticing

Kate Video:

that, you know, it's, it's.

Kate Video:

Health is, is literally all around us.

Kate Video:

It is the lifestyle, it is the food you're eating and it, and it is literally

Kate Video:

not just what you're consuming in your mouth, but also like what you're

Kate Video:

consuming through your ears and your eyes.

Kate Video:

You know?

Kate Video:

Uh, that plays a massive role as well.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

Cause I think about a lot of times, like people think like, oh, I'm gonna wind down

Kate Video:

like, at the end of the day, and they're watching some like TV show or some movie.

Kate Video:

But like most of the TV shows and movies nowadays are.

Kate Video:

So stressful.

Kate Video:

And they want you to wa they're addictive.

Kate Video:

They have a lot of violence, they have a lot of conflict.

Kate Video:

So like your, your emotions are like super stressed while you're winding

Kate Video:

down and like getting ready for sleep.

Kate Video:

And it's just like creating, like spiking your stress hormones or like,

Kate Video:

a lot of like media, um, is fear-based.

Kate Video:

So it's like trying to make you afraid of something also

Kate Video:

affecting your nervous system.

Kate Video:

So you're.

Kate Video:

A lot of the things that we're encouraged to consume media-wise are really adding

Kate Video:

to that spike in stress hormones in the body and bringing you into the

Kate Video:

sympathetic, like you said, maybe it's not like the highest version of the

Kate Video:

sympathetic nervous system, but it's there low level like all the time, and

Kate Video:

so you never give yourself like a break to like relax and enjoy your life.

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

Um.

Kate Video:

Definitely when, uh, Ashley and I started first dating, uh, some of

Kate Video:

the big major shifts that I went through, uh, was for one, um, like the.

Kate Video:

Amount of food and qual and, and uh, speed in which I would eat

Kate Video:

food cuz I was in sports a lot and I just would wolf down food.

Kate Video:

And then also the sugar content.

Kate Video:

Those were two major things that really shift in the very beginning.

Kate Video:

And then the other one was, uh, the tv.

Kate Video:

They, uh, Ashley just didn't naturally watch as much tv.

Kate Video:

Um, where, whereas in my household, my mom would be washing the dishes with the news

Kate Video:

on and it would just be in the background.

Kate Video:

Like, not even, no one's really totally tuning into it, but it was really.

Kate Video:

Almost like an uncomfortable feeling to be at home and not have like noise, you know?

Kate Video:

And so, uh, once I started getting more used to that and more comfortable with

Kate Video:

just kind of like maybe being with my thoughts or whatever it may be, uh, it was

Kate Video:

really interesting to then go back home and, you know, see my mom just with like

Kate Video:

the TV on constantly and it's like, Hey, like, I'll turn that off and talk to you.

Kate Video:

And then she's just like, whoa, whoa.

Kate Video:

What are you doing?

Kate Video:

You know, , which she's cool talking to me, but like when she's doing her stuff,

Kate Video:

like she's got her groove going on.

Kate Video:

And so, um, it's just, it's super interesting.

Kate Video:

Uh, I think that's also like with the taste buds deal, you know, it's like

Kate Video:

you said, 21 days for the taste buds to change, which is absolutely true.

Kate Video:

Um, I crave sugar way less.

Kate Video:

Not to say I don't still eat it, of course it still sneaks in and I

Kate Video:

have my little moments, you know.

Kate Video:

Um, but I have dramatically reduced my sugar consumption, like, Yeah, I mean

Kate Video:

more than more than half for sure.

Kate Video:

Uh, and then in terms of, yeah, with the media as well, it's, it's

Kate Video:

something that like, you just kind of develop that habit over time and

Kate Video:

you get comfortable not having to be attached to whatever that was, you know?

Kate Video:

Yeah.

Kate Video:

And with a lot of these things, it's just like there's gonna,

Kate Video:

we're habitual creatures.

Kate Video:

Like humans.

Kate Video:

We are our nerve, our body, our like nervous system is designed to just like,

Kate Video:

let's repeat what we did yesterday.

Kate Video:

Cause it kinda like kept us alive.

Kate Video:

It's like our survival.

Kate Video:

So we're very habitual.

Kate Video:

We, we like those patterns and we, we become sort of addicted to patterns,

Kate Video:

whether it's external or internal or whatever, whether it's your thoughts,

Kate Video:

what you're watching, like how you're, what you're doing throughout the day.

Kate Video:

And so when you wanna change that, there's always gonna be a period of like,

Kate Video:

discomfort and you just, it's like, you're just like uncomfortable in your body.

Kate Video:

Like, I'm gonna crawl outta your skin because you're so.

Kate Video:

Like addicted to like some little habit, like whether it's having the

Kate Video:

TV on or whether it's like having that like the sweet thing at a certain

Kate Video:

point of the day or whatever it is.

Kate Video:

And so like.

Kate Video:

Just for, I feel like if you wanna create like, massive transformation

Kate Video:

in your life, like the key is you have to fall in love with a discomfort.

Kate Video:

Be like, okay, discomfort means like, something better

Kate Video:

is happening on the other side.

Kate Video:

Like, I'm gonna get stronger.

Kate Video:

I'm gonna get, you know, whatever.

Kate Video:

My life is gonna become more of what I actually want it to be, but

Kate Video:

it's gonna be, there's gonna be that uncomfortable period, you know?

Kate Video:

Mm-hmm.

Kate Video:

, whether it's food or habits or exercise, like you can relate it to almost anything.

Kate Video:

There's gonna be.

Kate Video:

Really uncomfortable moments when you're growing, and so I've just been trying

Kate Video:

to like fall in love, like get myself out of my comfort zone as much as I can.

Kate Video:

Just fall in love with that discomfort because there's so much magic.

Kate Video:

Like, on the other side of that, or even through it, like in, in, in,

Kate Video:

in those discomfort moments, you like notice things and connect with

Kate Video:

people in different ways and realize things that maybe you would've totally

Kate Video:

missed if you hadn't let yourself go.

Kate Video:

So , a hundred percent.

Kate Video:

It's, it's the journey.

Kate Video:

It's the journey to get to where you're wanting to go and, you know,

Kate Video:

you think that what you want is really the goal, but it's all the,

Kate Video:

the learning that happens in between that really is what's so, so valuable.

Kate Video:

I, I love that you said that.

Kate Video:

Um, Yeah, Kate, these are excellent topics and I am so

Kate Video:

happy to talk with you on these.

Kate Video:

It's like solidified my, uh, my belief in lifestyle and lifestyle

Kate Video:

change and doing the inner work to really see it on the outside.

Kate Video:

Um, I think that's, Extremely impactful, especially the, uh, the

Kate Video:

Mediterranean diet example you gave.

Kate Video:

That was, that was awesome.

Kate Video:

Um, but this is going to, uh, start coming to the end of our podcast episode,

Kate Video:

which is always, uh, sad for me because I have incredible conversations like this.

Kate Video:

I love it.

Kate Video:

Um, but.

Kate Video:

In this moment, if you wouldn't mind just sharing some last minute thoughts

Kate Video:

you might have or even, uh, places where people can connect with you at.

Kate Video:

Of course, I will put these in the show notes for all of you listeners

Kate Video:

out there, so you can easily find Kate.

Kate Video:

But, uh, please take the, take this moment to share anything you have to share.

Kate Video:

Well, thank you so much for having me.

Kate Video:

Yes.

Kate Video:

This has been really, really fun.

Kate Video:

I feel like we have, we're so common, we have common threads and themes through

Kate Video:

our life, which is I love meeting like-minded people and I feel like

Kate Video:

really what I believe and what I see with what, what you're sharing as well

Kate Video:

here, like all the content you're sharing is everything's connected, you know?

Kate Video:

So we like try, like we wanna isolate, like, I'm gonna work on this area

Kate Video:

or this area, but they're all.

Kate Video:

So just, you know, doing a little bit of shifts and changes in one area, it's

Kate Video:

gonna ripple effect into another area.

Kate Video:

And that's really fun.

Kate Video:

I think it's really fun when you think about it and when you can really embody

Kate Video:

that and you can get out of this like, Making everything its own lane and just

Kate Video:

realize like I'm a multifaceted person with a, I'm into a lot of different

Kate Video:

things and I have a lot of different passions and there's a lot of different

Kate Video:

ways I can grow and become better.

Kate Video:

And even if I'm not doing like what I want in this area, I am

Kate Video:

doing some stuff in this area.

Kate Video:

So I get to feel good about that cause it's gonna ripple effect into.

Kate Video:

My whole life.

Kate Video:

I make my life more enjoyable and more fun and feel, allow me to feel more

Kate Video:

free in the end, cuz that's really my goal, is to feel more free in every way.

Kate Video:

So if people wanna follow along, um, I'm on Instagram, it's

Kate Video:

Kate Video:

Kate Video:

Kate Video:

terms of the work to be done.

Kate Video:

people about it, um, I can tell you, you, you know what you're doing

Kate Video:

and, um, you're on the right path.

Kate Video:

I think personally, you know, anytime someone asks, you know,

Kate Video:

like, how do you live your life?

Kate Video:

As opposed to, you know, the basics, like, oh, like what are you eating and all.

Kate Video:

Uh, that to me says a lot.

Kate Video:

So, um, thank you very much for sharing all of your wisdom on here, Kate.

Kate Video:
