Speaker:

Welcome to the mesmerizing marketing podcast, where we take a deep dive

Speaker:

into the latest marketing trends, tools, and tips, and provide you with

Speaker:

the top resources you need to thrive and make your marketing mesmerizing.

Speaker:

And now here's your host dimple.

Speaker:

Dang.

Speaker:

Hello everyone today.

Speaker:

I'm so excited.

Speaker:

I'm gonna be sharing with you what the latest and greatest Instagram updates are.

Speaker:

And there have been a lot of interesting changes lately with Instagram when it

Speaker:

pertains to video and also stories.

Speaker:

And I think, you might be excited about some of these things, but also

Speaker:

it's really important to know how you need to adjust your marketing strategy.

Speaker:

Specifically content marketing strategy in terms of creating video content.

Speaker:

Because if you're not aware of this, you're gonna be a little bit

Speaker:

confused when you go and upload a video you have not done so for a bit.

Speaker:

So Instagram is leaning more towards content in the format of reels and

Speaker:

making sure that videos are actually that size and they have gotten

Speaker:

rid of IGT actually a while ago.

Speaker:

But, you know, before you can post videos, And they would show up as videos.

Speaker:

But now what Instagram is doing is it's basically wanting to offer a

Speaker:

more immersive and entertaining way to watch video content on Instagram.

Speaker:

So that they're going to be basically saying if you post any

Speaker:

video content, that's less than 15 minutes when you share it.

Speaker:

It's now going to be shared as.

Speaker:

So when you're filming your Instagram content for videos, you

Speaker:

wanna make sure that you film it so that you're able to adjust it to

Speaker:

be the right dimensions for reels.

Speaker:

Because if you don't, then it's going to look like part of it is cut off.

Speaker:

So if you're filming, I would suggest placing the camera

Speaker:

a little bit further away

Speaker:

so you can use the video editing platform to edit video so that

Speaker:

it is a Real's format size.

Speaker:

And you also want to make sure that you are changing the strategy in

Speaker:

terms of how you produce content.

Speaker:

Now, before I even go there, I know a lot of you're probably are wondering,

Speaker:

well, what about the content that already have out there from the past

Speaker:

that I've posted as videos.

Speaker:

Well, those are not gonna change.

Speaker:

Those are gonna stay the same.

Speaker:

They will stay as videos, but anything that you have been posting the past

Speaker:

couple of weeks and you're gonna post now.

Speaker:

Even if you think you're posting it as a video, if it's 15 minutes or

Speaker:

less, it's automatically going to turn that into a reals format content.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And that is just what Instagram is looking to do.

Speaker:

And some of the other things that they have added to have some more features are.

Speaker:

Some new remix features and options.

Speaker:

So there's now remix for photos and photos always, for a while have

Speaker:

been very important on Instagram.

Speaker:

But now what you're gonna be able to do is you're gonna be

Speaker:

able to remix public photos.

Speaker:

So this gives you a lot of, opportunity to be very unique in your content

Speaker:

creation, and then to really be inspired to create content based

Speaker:

off of other people's content as.

Speaker:

The other thing that is also happening is expanded remix layouts.

Speaker:

That means that basically you can choose between either green screen.

Speaker:

Horizontal or vertical split screen, or even a picture and picture reaction view.

Speaker:

And that's cool because if there's a video or real, I should say that

Speaker:

you found that was very interesting.

Speaker:

And you wanna add your own commentary on it.

Speaker:

You wanna add your own emotions?

Speaker:

Well, now you can pick one of these layouts and you can create content

Speaker:

that is remixed with other people's existing video reels content.

Speaker:

Then the other thing is that you can also add your clip.

Speaker:

So instead of having your remix appear at the same time as the original reel, you

Speaker:

can add your clip after the original, so that it plays in that particular sequence.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So let's, get into a little bit more details on how you can alter your

Speaker:

Instagram video marketing strategy so that you know what you need to do.

Speaker:

the aspect ratio that you need to consider.

Speaker:

Is the nine to 16 aspect ratio.

Speaker:

Now that's, what's gonna be compatible with real, so that's

Speaker:

what you should be using.

Speaker:

Then also you wanna make sure that you are coming up with your strategy

Speaker:

and when you think of video marketing for Instagram, really wanna think

Speaker:

of it in terms of like reels.

Speaker:

So you wanna think about, well, if you film something and you film.

Speaker:

Horizontally then when you're uploading it to Instagram, you're gonna see an icon,

Speaker:

a button at the top that has like two arrows that point in opposite directions.

Speaker:

So when you click that, it's going to take the video.

Speaker:

That's.

Speaker:

Film horizontally, and it's going to expand it to be the nine to 16 ratio.

Speaker:

And that's really important to do, because if you don't do that, then

Speaker:

when you upload your reel, you're just gonna end up with a video.

Speaker:

That's gonna be in the center and then there's gonna be all of this

Speaker:

empty black space, which is okay.

Speaker:

If you wanna write content on the black space, but if not, then

Speaker:

you really wanna maximize the entire space to like put full.

Speaker:

With full length video content.

Speaker:

one of the other newer features that Instagram now has added to the mix

Speaker:

is something called dual camera.

Speaker:

And dual camera is great because you could basically film content.

Speaker:

And you can film yourself, providing the commentary.

Speaker:

So if you're out somewhere, you're giving someone a tour of something.

Speaker:

Well, on the same screen, they can see you speaking and they can see the

Speaker:

background that you're also showing.

Speaker:

So maybe you wanna show off your new office space, maybe

Speaker:

you just decorated your home.

Speaker:

Maybe you're on vacation somewhere, and you wanna show off the view and

Speaker:

you wanna explain where you're at.

Speaker:

Those are all great ways to use the dual camera feature.

Speaker:

So I highly suggest checking that out as.

Speaker:

Then the other thing that you wanna take advantage of using is

Speaker:

that there's now Real's templates.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

There's Real's templates within Instagram.

Speaker:

so if you don't wanna figure out how to be doing complex editing on your

Speaker:

own and how many seconds each frame should be, and each photo should be.

Speaker:

Using a pre-made reels template is gonna make it really, really easy.

Speaker:

Now you're probably wondering, well, dimple, where do I

Speaker:

find these reels templates?

Speaker:

So basically you can tap the used template button on reels in your Instagram feed.

Speaker:

When you see a reel that you like, and it says, okay, you.

Speaker:

Use the template, or you can select templates from the reals creation screen.

Speaker:

So when you find one that you wanna use, what you're gonna do is you're

Speaker:

going to add your own media to the different timed spots on the template.

Speaker:

So let's say for example, one time slot might be.

Speaker:

1.2 seconds.

Speaker:

The other might be 1.0 seconds.

Speaker:

The other might be five seconds.

Speaker:

And what you wanna do is you wanna upload your content based on which content

Speaker:

you want to appear for the longer time slot versus the shorter time slot.

Speaker:

And then you also have.

Speaker:

A really cool feature, which I was like, oh, this is cool.

Speaker:

Is that you can have, now you can have interactive stickers on your reels.

Speaker:

So you can literally ask people for a vote.

Speaker:

You can ask them to comment.

Speaker:

Hey, what's your favorite, beach to go to in the us, here's mine.

Speaker:

And you can, you know, show a reel of yours, but you can

Speaker:

actually get people involved.

Speaker:

You can even.

Speaker:

A quiz.

Speaker:

You can put emojis, you can put all kinds of things.

Speaker:

You can put a pole.

Speaker:

And I would really recommend trying that out because that is going to give people

Speaker:

more of the feel that it's even a post.

Speaker:

And it's not necessarily real, but it's gonna get people more engaged.

Speaker:

And then when you take that real and you re-share it in your Instagram

Speaker:

stories, It's more likely to get more engagement and the more engagement it

Speaker:

gets, it's probably going to be seen.

Speaker:

It's probably gonna be shown to more people as well.

Speaker:

So to see your analytics for reels, I would recommend checking out the

Speaker:

reels insights in the Instagram app.

Speaker:

And in addition to seeing the likes and comments, you can also view.

Speaker:

The shares that you've had, like, how many shares did you get?

Speaker:

How many people saved your reel?

Speaker:

And you can also see the total number of plays and how many

Speaker:

accounts that you've reached.

Speaker:

And that's really gonna help you track, you know, how many people are

Speaker:

watching your content and which content has done better than other content.

Speaker:

So if you are creating a lot of content, it's a good idea

Speaker:

to go and analyze the data.

Speaker:

And figure out what's working best and what's not.

Speaker:

And then create more content based on what's working best.

Speaker:

And it's really important to look at your data and to know what's happening.

Speaker:

So the other thing that's exciting is I know that you guys do a lot

Speaker:

of announcements in your Instagram stories, but as we know in the

Speaker:

past Instagram stories, keep getting cut off after 15 seconds.

Speaker:

So you have to upload everything in little chunks, right?

Speaker:

You have to upload them into.

Speaker:

Different segments because 15 seconds is the limit, but now you're able to have

Speaker:

up to 60 seconds in your stories as well.

Speaker:

So you can see the trend here.

Speaker:

You guys like Instagram is going towards a little bit more longer form content, and

Speaker:

that's your opportunity to create content.

Speaker:

That's also more educational.

Speaker:

That has to do with your niche.

Speaker:

If you're a lawyer, you can create content around a particular question

Speaker:

that you get a lot from clients, maybe a tip that is, you know, important for

Speaker:

your clients to know, Or maybe a new law that's gone into effect in your city.

Speaker:

It can be any of those things, but also it's important to use as many of the new

Speaker:

features when Instagram launches them.

Speaker:

Because when you do that, it's going to show your content to more

Speaker:

people and they always wanna promote the new features that they have.

Speaker:

And sometimes what they will do is if you have a crater account to select

Speaker:

craters are gonna roll out features initially so that they can test them

Speaker:

and they can see how they actually function and how creators use them.

Speaker:

And then they roll it out to everybody.

Speaker:

But as far as the Instagram, Video format.

Speaker:

That is actually in fact right now.

Speaker:

And if maybe you're still able to see your videos looking the way they used to,

Speaker:

when you upload them, then that change is gonna be coming to you shortly as well.

Speaker:

So definitely start thinking about creating content in a nine to 16 format

Speaker:

and start thinking about, you know, even when you're recording content, how is

Speaker:

it gonna look in the frame if it was a real, and if you do wanna make one video.

Speaker:

And repurpose it for YouTube and for reels and for TikTok and for other

Speaker:

platforms, then yes, you can still record horizontally, but make sure

Speaker:

that you're not so close up, that if it was cropped into a nine to 16

Speaker:

format, that it's gonna be chopped off.

Speaker:

So you wanna like maybe move back a little.

Speaker:

Then you can always zoom in the video later, but that's gonna help you

Speaker:

repurpose that video for multiple purposes and segments, because it's

Speaker:

really hard to create so much content for every single different platform.

Speaker:

But if you create content one time and you do it strategically and you

Speaker:

do it with a strategic game plan.

Speaker:

Then you can take that one piece of content and you can

Speaker:

repurpose it across the board.

Speaker:

And that's really, really going to streamline your process when it

Speaker:

comes to creating content, because let's face it creating content.

Speaker:

It is a lot of work.

Speaker:

It is a lot of work.

Speaker:

It is time consuming and it takes a certain level of planning.

Speaker:

But if you plan it out, And you batch your content.

Speaker:

It's gonna make everything so much easier.

Speaker:

Now I shared this tip already in some of my other Instagram podcast episodes,

Speaker:

but I'm gonna share it again because a lot of people still don't know about

Speaker:

this, but if you are still trying to come up with content ideas for your

Speaker:

business, in terms of what kind of content you can create, what you can

Speaker:

do is you can go to this website.

Speaker:

So you just go to Google you type in answer the public.com.

Speaker:

And then you're gonna put in a key word.

Speaker:

So for example, if you are a, let's say yoga instructor, you can type in

Speaker:

the word yoga and you can hit enter.

Speaker:

And what's gonna happen is it's gonna give you a wheel of questions, questions, like

Speaker:

how, why, what, and it's gonna show you the questions in different, like color

Speaker:

codes, like of shades of green, the darker green are the ones that are more popular.

Speaker:

And then what you can also do is you can take these questions.

Speaker:

There's a button to export all the questions to like an Excel document.

Speaker:

That's what I would suggest that you.

Speaker:

Then, if you have another monitor or you have maybe a phone, you wanna take

Speaker:

a picture of the circular wheel as well.

Speaker:

You can even download it and save it to your desktop.

Speaker:

And you wanna compare that with all of your uploaded questions, because

Speaker:

you're not gonna use all the questions that are given to create content,

Speaker:

but out of that list, maybe you're gonna pick five to 10 that you really.

Speaker:

You're gonna keep those on the document and you're gonna delete everything else.

Speaker:

And then on that document, what you're gonna do is you're

Speaker:

gonna say topic platform.

Speaker:

So the platform's gonna be, what platform are you planning

Speaker:

on creating this content for?

Speaker:

I mean, it can be multiple things.

Speaker:

It can be for your podcast.

Speaker:

It could be for a blog post.

Speaker:

It could be for YouTube content.

Speaker:

It can be for reals, it can be for TikTok.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

But you're gonna determine where you want that content to

Speaker:

go, and then you can make a.

Speaker:

Section that's a status.

Speaker:

And that means has it been filmed?

Speaker:

Is it in the editing process?

Speaker:

When is it gonna be posted?

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And if you do one or two searches a day on answer the public, because

Speaker:

you can do those for free without having to pay for a membership.

Speaker:

Otherwise, if you try to do more, I think than one or two, it's gonna say

Speaker:

sign up for a paid account, but you can do one or two searches for a day and

Speaker:

you do that for like seven to 10 days.

Speaker:

You're literally gonna have.

Speaker:

Your entire content marketing strategy for the next 90 days.

Speaker:

And that's gonna help you so much because you can just open up your spreadsheet.

Speaker:

You can know what kind of content you're gonna film, and it's actually

Speaker:

content that's useful, cuz those are the questions that people are already

Speaker:

looking for the answers to on Google.

Speaker:

And when you create content.

Speaker:

Now, you know, this content that's being created on TikTok, even

Speaker:

it's being indexed by Google.

Speaker:

So More and more so short form video content is gonna start coming up on Google

Speaker:

too, when people are doing searches.

Speaker:

So it's really going to be to your benefit to make sure that when you're

Speaker:

creating content, you're also creating it with a SEO strategy in mind.

Speaker:

That means search engine optimization.

Speaker:

Now, if you need help, Coming up with a marketing strategy for you,

Speaker:
