Marylayo: Looking back, I would now say that
those early COVID months were life changing
2
::
for me.
3
::
Yes, it was because of all the crazy, surreal
4
::
and devastating stuff that was happening
around.
5
::
But it was more than that.
6
::
You see, for quite some time before then, I
7
::
was living in unsettled and fast paced
lifestyle.
8
::
And that was life.
9
::
I just got on with it.
10
::
Then all of a sudden, I had time.
11
::
Time to discover that jogging was not just
12
::
reserved for the elite early birds that were
super health conscious and disciplined.
13
::
I found that I somehow could also stop my day
early and jog before work.
14
::
Time to discover that baking was not just
reserved for the ultra skilled homemakers.
15
::
I found that I, too, with my limited culinary
skills, could not just eat good cakes.
16
::
I could make them too.
17
::
You see, I had time.
18
::
Time to discover me.
19
::
And it was during this season when I would jog
20
::
and listen to music, that I would reflect and
come to realize that over many years I had
21
::
lost parts of me along the way.
22
::
And there was one song that I would listen to
23
::
over and over again, because it seemed to
really get how I was feeling.
24
::
Yes, I was still Mary lyle, but I had evolved
to become a shadow of my former true self, and
25
::
it boiled down to the challenging seasons and
events that life froze our way.
26
::
I say all of this because it's those types of
seasons and events that many of us, not just
27
::
me, encounter.
28
::
And I want to explore them through this
29
::
podcast.
30
::
This is me stepping out of the shadows and
31
::
voicing them out.
32
::
This is me learning and sharing with guests
33
::
who may be much more knowledgeable on topics,
talking about issues that can have an adverse
34
::
effect on our mental and spiritual wellbeing.
35
::
This is me doing what I'm passionate about and
36
::
finding me again.
