Shownotes

In this brief episode I talk about how you can use private podcasts to create intimacy and connection with your audience.

If you are thinking about adding a private podcast into your business, focus on what value you are adding to your audience's experience, and less on what you get out of it. How do you want them to experience you and your brand?

Speaker:

Okay, so this is gonna be a really

quick episode number one, because.

2

:

My message is really succinct and I just,

there's something that I need to share

3

:

about private podcasts and your business.

4

:

And then number two, because this is my

third time trying to record it, because,

5

:

you know, sometimes shit happens.

6

:

And so the lesson here is that

sometimes shit happens, and

7

:

especially when it comes to recording.

8

:

I did a whole interview the other day.

9

:

None of it recorded.

10

:

Um.

11

:

Things happen, like these are things

that are pretty expected, especially

12

:

when you're dealing with technology.

13

:

I just, now, when I, the first time I

recorded, tried to record this episode,

14

:

my microphone was on mute, didn't

realize until I was finished totally

15

:

the second time I tried to record it.

16

:

Um, my microphone wasn't plugged

up all the way to the computer.

17

:

Um, so there you go.

18

:

There's that.

19

:

Uh, so anyhow, there's just a little

message of it happens to all of us.

20

:

Just keep going.

21

:

We are in the thick of private

podcast week over and Angie land.

22

:

And if you haven't signed up yet,

go to Podcast.base.com to sign up.

23

:

There's still time.

24

:

You still can get the private stream

and you still have time to listen.

25

:

You can still participate in this

discussion in the group and the,

26

:

we're having a live demo, um, of

actual Hello Audio Lindsay from Hello.

27

:

Hello.

28

:

Audio is going to come

and demo that for us.

29

:

I'm gonna do some Q&A and

a and some coaching live.

30

:

And then I'm going to show you

some behind-the-scenes inside.

31

:

Look, first inside, look at my

new course about private podcasts.

32

:

So go do that if you have it.

33

:

here's the thing that I want to tell you.

34

:

So I.

35

:

In these discussions and in these

questions and, and we've been talking

36

:

about like what our goals are and what

we wanna accomplish and how we wanna use

37

:

private podcasts, those kinds of things.

38

:

I've been really inspired by

everyone's innovation and creativity.

39

:

It really inspired me to start a podcast.

40

:

I'm like, I should start a podcast

that's literally about marketing and how

41

:

people are using marketing creatively in

their business because I think it's so.

42

:

Interesting.

43

:

And I love to see the different

things that people are doing.

44

:

And so the it, it's been really inspiring

and I had a client once who was a launch

45

:

strategist and she told me that, and what

she told me really stuck with me because

46

:

she told me that how she would approach

this with her clients, she would approach.

47

:

What do we do for the launch?

48

:

That question, like, do we do a workshop?

49

:

Do we do a master class?

50

:

Do we do a webinar?

51

:

Do we do a challenge?

52

:

Like what's that launch event gonna

be, that sales event gonna be?

53

:

And her response, and what she

would always say to people is,

54

:

it's not like, let's not just think

about what that is going to be.

55

:

Like, it's not about what the sales

event is going to be, it's about how

56

:

you want people to experience you.

57

:

And for me, I just, that really

stuck with me because it's such a

58

:

powerful way to reframe thinking

about how we create in our business.

59

:

And I think that that really

drives the innovation versus.

60

:

Coming to someone like me and saying,

okay, what have you seen work?

61

:

What?

62

:

What should I do?

63

:

What am I, You know?

64

:

And I think that there's a

time and a place for that.

65

:

Yeah, there's a time and a place.

66

:

Okay, this is how I wanna use it.

67

:

How can I use your information and

expertise to help me create this?

68

:

But I think when we go back to how

do I want someone to experience

69

:

me, how do I want them to feel?

70

:

What do I want this to

accomplish in my business?

71

:

I think it's such a powerful

way to reframe and think

72

:

about how we want to use this.

73

:

I'll give an example.

74

:

One of my clients, um, she's also

in private podcast week, and one of

75

:

the things that she was saying she

wants to use her private podcast for

76

:

is in conjunction with her events.

77

:

Actually two, actually two people,

and I never thought about using

78

:

it this way before because I

have an event and it was like.

79

:

I could use the private podcast too

because there are some things that

80

:

people need to kinda get their, wrap

their minds around before they get

81

:

to the event that's gonna help them

to have more success at the event.

82

:

And she was like, I wanna use

a private podcast for that.

83

:

And I was like, that

is a really cool idea.

84

:

And it's tied to their total

experience of your event, right?

85

:

And I was like, Ooh, that's so cool.

86

:

Plus, after the event, you could have a

private podcast stream, or you could have,

87

:

you could add something to that same.

88

:

Podcast stream after the event.

89

:

So like there's a lead up, there's the

event, and then there's some things that

90

:

they could do after the event or you can

stay in touch or maybe there's like call

91

:

to actions that get them to take the next

step, whatever that is in your experience.

92

:

Right.

93

:

So I thought that was a really

cool idea and something I'm

94

:

gonna still and be incorporating.

95

:

So.

96

:

You could do the same, but I want you

to think about how you want people

97

:

to experience you, and I want you to

keep in mind that audio can be such an

98

:

intimate experience where you get to.

99

:

Form relationships and build

intimacy with your audience.

100

:

Not just nurture them for the sale, but

like how can you truly connect with them?

101

:

And I think when you think

about it in that way, logically,

102

:

what can come next for them?

103

:

How are they experiencing me?

104

:

Are they coming into my Facebook group

and then, you know, I'm giving them

105

:

a private podcast to get to know me.

106

:

Okay, cool.

107

:

Are they coming into, are

they coming to my event?

108

:

And what would, what would enhance that

experience of them experiencing my brand?

109

:

Do they buy my program?

110

:

And then, you know, I, I don't know.

111

:

There's so many different things and

so many ways you could think about it.

112

:

So I wanna encourage your innovation.

113

:

I wanna encourage you to think about

your private podcast as an experience

114

:

and what you want people to experience,

how you wanna build intimacy and

115

:

connection with your audience.

116

:

I think that's a really powerful way.

117

:

And so that's really

what I wanted to share.

118

:

And.

127
