479 Road Rage 101: Spit or Swallow/Flash Bang Bingo

NATIONAL DAY: Data Privacy Day

BIRTHDAY: Sarah McLachlan, Alan Alda

THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

The Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrated shortly after launch in 1986.

HEADLINE: The protester who injured her hand grabbing the FlashBang during the ICE Protest

Crowd-control devices exist to create distance and restore order during volatile situations, and their purpose is well understood by anyone engaging law enforcement. Grabbing a deployed flash-bang device is reckless and dangerous, and the injury that followed was a direct result of that choice rather than an unforeseen accident.

FEATURE: Hollywood Movie Star Exodus

While many entertainers publicly threatened to leave the United States following political outcomes, very few actually followed through. Publicly documented examples include Ellen DeGeneres relocating to the United Kingdom and Rosie O’Donnell spending extended periods living abroad, illustrating how rare true follow-through has been compared to the volume of public declarations.

COMMENTARY: People shocked when I spit in public during my downtown walk while they let their pets poop and pee

This occurred during my daily walks in downtown San Jose, where public reactions appear selective. A brief act like spitting draws immediate outrage, while dog waste and urine on sidewalks are largely ignored, highlighting how social norms are enforced emotionally rather than consistently.
