Sit around a campfire long enough and you’ll notice all kinds of colors in the flame—yellow, orange, red, even blue. And sometimes our seasons with God can feel a little like that too.

There are moments when the heat feels especially intense. We may not understand why we’re walking through something difficult, and we definitely may not enjoy it. But Scripture reminds us that God can use those places to refine us.

The fire isn’t proof that He has abandoned us. Sometimes it’s where He is doing a deeper work than we can see.

Scripture (NIV):

Isaiah 48:10 — “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”

Reflection Questions:

What kind of season am I walking through right now?

Where might God be refining something in me?

Can I trust Him even while the heat is uncomfortable?
