Speaker B:So what have you been up to, Liz?
Speaker A:I have no idea.
Speaker A:I really don't know where time is going.
Speaker A:I think it's probably because of this episode.
Speaker A:I think I've been trapped in a time to time.
Speaker A:Maybe I'm in the nest, but I'm in a dimension time place that exists outside of the normal realm.
Speaker A:But that is likely because I am in a.
Speaker A:An existence of.
Speaker A:Of a place that has yet to be because we're both preparing to go somewhere else.
Speaker A:So when you're preparing to do something else, you're kind of living in the future, aren't you?
Speaker B:That's true.

Speaker B:I went to the opening day of the state fair of Texas and I had a corn dog and mustard beer and cotton candy bacon and saw big pigs and they were cute.

Speaker B:It was like a way that pay.
Speaker B:Apparently that pig weighs like a thousand pounds.

Speaker B:And Dave was like.
Speaker B:And Dave's like, are those his balls?
Speaker B:I'm like, I think so.
Speaker B:And he's like, no wonder he's smiling because they were very large.

Speaker B:And then yeah, I just ran.
Speaker B:Just, you know, fun stuff like running errands and had some wine with friends and getting ready for my troubles.

Speaker B:So we're going to talk about this episode first, Liz.

Speaker A:This season he did into the mystic, which was episode 11.
Speaker A:And he did Baby, which was, you know, one of you.
Speaker A:Probably one of the top rated episodes of Supernatural.
Speaker A:Multiple.
Speaker A:Anyhow.
Speaker A:Not that this one.
Speaker A:This one definitely has its moments.
Speaker A:And so let's jump into it and talk about how many jump scares Diana got, so.
Speaker B:Damn it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I'm so mad.
Speaker A:So we started off by.
Speaker A:We're zooming in on this house in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where this woman's talking on her phone while she's doing.
Speaker A:While she's doing chores.
Speaker A:Scraping wallpaper.
Speaker A:Sorry, not doing chores.
Speaker B:Yeah, house projects.
Speaker B:And she's bitching about how this house is more of a fixer upper than she planned.
Speaker B:As she peels this wallpaper.
Speaker B:And we see that there' something like red.
Speaker B:Like red paint or something on the wall behind the wallpaper.
Speaker B:But she doesn't notice because she gets off the phone and she hears a scream and has to.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:How does she.
Speaker A:She never notices this.
Speaker A:Nobody notices the.
Speaker A:I would notice this immediately, but immediately.
Speaker B:Bright red on a white wall under the wallpaper.
Speaker A:But no, that completely.
Speaker A:She ignores that.
Speaker A:But she.
Speaker A:Because she does hear the kid screaming.
Speaker A:So she's running to her scared child.
Speaker B:Whose name is Cat, upstairs in bed, and she says that she.
Speaker B:There's something bad in the house.
Speaker B:That's terrifying.
Speaker B:Then she said she heard footsteps.
Speaker B:And they both agree that it's cold in the room.
Speaker B:But apparently the furnace is broken.
Speaker B:That's getting repaired tomorrow, so that could be.
Speaker A:Why is it so cold in my room?
Speaker A:Like it's a Michigan.
Speaker B:Well, that too.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And then.
Speaker B:But she wants a glass of water, so Mom's gonna go get her some water.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker B:And as soon as mom leaves the room, the lights turn off and the door slams shut.
Speaker B:And this is where Diana is fucking freaked.
Speaker A:And the girl does.
Speaker A:Don't do this.
Speaker A:She goes and hides under the bed.
Speaker A:And also.
Speaker A:You couldn't fit under my bed.
Speaker A:I have too much crap under there.
Speaker A:But she goes and she hides under there.
Speaker A:And she can hear footsteps coming.
Speaker A:And then the door opens and something grabs her ankle from under the bed.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:That's never great.
Speaker A:And this.
Speaker A:This.
Speaker A:This.
Speaker A:Whatever.
Speaker A:This is it.
Speaker A:Dick.
Speaker A:That is just a dick move.
Speaker A:Just like.
Speaker A:I can't just, like, take your hand.
Speaker A:I am going to take you by your foot.
Speaker B:It's very upsetting.
Speaker A:It is.
Speaker B:I was like, doing.
Speaker B:Definitely doing like this where, like, we're not watching, but, like, I put my arm in front of my face so that I can tell if I want to look, I can look.
Speaker B:But I can also cover my eyes very easily because I am a wuss, as we have established before.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker B:Sam and Dean are at a diner.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:And so we learned that there will be.
Speaker A:There's no news on Amara or Cass, so we're not going to have an episode.
Speaker A:Episode about them.
Speaker A:We're gonna have a Monster of the Week episode, is what I feel like this is telling us.
Speaker B:Correct.
Speaker A:So that means we hunt.
Speaker A:We hunt.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:So they.
Speaker B:Sam has found the story of a woman saying that her daughter was attacked by a paranormal entity of some kind.
Speaker B:And now the kid's in a coma with a handprint on her from the attacker on her ankle.
Speaker B:So Sam's like, this seems like an easy win.
Speaker B:Let's go do this.
Speaker B:And Dean's likes.
Speaker B:Dean's like, never.
Speaker B:There's never an easy win in our world, man.
Speaker A:Yeah, he is a little grumpy.
Speaker A:And so we go from there to our woman from earlier, who is explaining that her wife still isn't there and wants to know why the FBI cares when even the Internet thinks she's crazy.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Naoki is having a rough time with this, but as soon as Sam and Dean start asking questions about, like, the being cold or lights off, she's like, oh, yeah, that all definitely happened.
Speaker B:There was the footsteps.
Speaker B:The room was real cold, and the lights turned off, by the way.
Speaker B:You want to search the house?
Speaker B:Here's where my hide a key is.
Speaker A:Sure.
Speaker A:Strangers in suits that seem like your federal agents.
Speaker A:Go look through my house.
Speaker A:Even without a warrant, it's fine.
Speaker A:Just go do that.
Speaker A:So they go to go look through her house, and baby pulls up, and there's a neighbor watching the house, and.
Speaker B:She wants to know what she can do to help.
Speaker B:And they.
Speaker B:And they're like, well, we're.
Speaker B:We're with the FBI.
Speaker B:And she's like, oh, that's weird.
Speaker B:Why does the FBI keep coming back to that house?
Speaker B:They were here a handful of years.
Speaker A:Ago, and they were two of the rudest FBI agents she ever met.
Speaker A:And then Sam wants to know if they were elder statesmen, which I'm just.
Speaker A:What the.
Speaker A:Sam.
Speaker A:This is not a good way to describe them, and probably not the first things I would go to when I was describing Bobby and Rufus.
Speaker B:No, Absolutely not.
Speaker B: th Bobby Singer sleeping in a: Speaker A:And he gets woken up by somebody.
Speaker B:Rufus pulls up also, because he is.
Speaker B:Bobby is meeting Rufus to help on this case.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And Because Bobby has been like.
Speaker B:He's annoyed about it, though, because he's been too busy trying to figure out how to avert the apocalypse that's on the horizon.
Speaker B:But Rufus says that he thought of Win would be nice for both of them.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker A:And that's where we start.
Speaker A:You be.
Speaker A:Kind of be getting these parallels.
Speaker A:And they.
Speaker A:And they're also kind of shady about which apocalypse it is.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And it takes you a while to figure out.
Speaker A:It takes even me.
Speaker A:Like, wait, which apocalypse are they talking about?
Speaker A:Like, which.
Speaker A:What's Bobby like?
Speaker A:Is it Dick Roman?
Speaker A:Is he gonna die?
Speaker A:Like, what's.
Speaker A:What's about to happen?
Speaker B:So that's all the.
Speaker B:Like at the end that we find out.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So it.
Speaker A:That keeps you guessing.
Speaker A:And so that's happening, but also something else is happening.
Speaker A:Rufus can't work because it's.
Speaker B:Because it's Shabbat.
Speaker B:So he.
Speaker B:But Bobby's like, you drove here?
Speaker B:And Rufus is like, no, no, no.
Speaker B:You've got to do all the work.
Speaker B:Sorry.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:And this is where the neighbor interrupts them as they're walking up to this house to ask what they're doing.
Speaker B:And Rufus.
Speaker B:Bobby's like, official business.
Speaker B:She's like, what kind?
Speaker B:And he's like, rufus, like, officially none of your business, ma'.
Speaker A:Am.
Speaker A:Damn.
Speaker A:There was a dam in there.
Speaker A:It's officially none of her damn business.
Speaker A:So yay.
Speaker A:And spe.
Speaker A:Damn business.
Speaker A: as nice once, and that was in: Speaker A:It was the worst year of his life.
Speaker A:And so I thought we may want to talk about some other moments in maybe Rufus's life or Bobby's life.
Speaker A:So we're gonna play a game.
Speaker A:I'm calling Bobby or Rufus or Brufus.
Speaker B:Rufus.
Speaker A:I don't.
Speaker A:I didn't know what to call them as a couple, so I just said Brufus.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:So these questions will have an answer of either Bobby or.

Speaker A:Or both.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:So this one became a hunter after his wife was possessed by a demon.
Speaker B:Bobby.
Speaker A:Correct.
Speaker A:Rufus helped him exercise a demon.
Speaker A:However, we do not know officially if that.
Speaker A:That could.
Speaker A:That could be both.
Speaker A:All right, number two.
Speaker A:Needed.
Speaker A:One once needed help disposing an okami.
Speaker B:I'm gonna go.
Speaker B:I think that was Rufus.
Speaker A:That was Rufus.
Speaker A:He found it in Billings, Montana.

Speaker A:Which one got infected by the con worm?
Speaker B:Bobby.
Speaker A:Correct.

Speaker A:Well, technically, Bobby killed him while he was infected by the conworm, but.

Speaker A:That's true.
Speaker A:Rufus was buried.
Speaker A:Bobby can't go back to Earth because they burned his bones.

Speaker A:And we start kind of doing these things.
Speaker A:Are we gonna go back and forth from the past to the present?
Speaker A:So they knock on the door, and we cut to the present.
Speaker A:And Sam and D going to the door with the EMF readers.
Speaker B:But this is so cool.
Speaker B:I love these transitions.
Speaker B:They do.
Speaker A:They're very good.
Speaker B:It's gonna be very challenging for us to talk about, so I think we kind of just lean into.
Speaker B:We'll say where the scene is, and we'll just talk about which person we're talking about that time.
Speaker B:And that's okay.
Speaker B:Instead of back forth.
Speaker B:Back forth.
Speaker A:We'll see how it goes.
Speaker B:Yeah, we'll see.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker B:But I.
Speaker B:But I love how they get to the door.
Speaker B:Rufus and Bobby get to the door.
Speaker B:And as they get to the door, we see the door open and Sam and Dean walk in.
Speaker B:I just love it.
Speaker B:Anyways, so it's the first transition of this type in this episode.
Speaker B:So their EMF readers are going off everywhere as they walk all over the house.
Speaker B:They meet up and are like, yeah, this is.
Speaker B:This.
Speaker B:This.
Speaker B:This EMF reader is crazy.
Speaker B:And he's.
Speaker B:Dean's like, I've got some of Bobby's journals in the trunk.
Speaker B:Let's go get those and see if it says anything since they were clearly here before.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Sam has gone in the room with the wallpaper.
Speaker B:Didn't notice either.
Speaker B:Just.
Speaker A:Just didn't see that.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:But yay.
Speaker A:We know.
Speaker A:We know someone's digging into trunk.
Speaker A:So she gets a moment.
Speaker A:Even if we don't get to see her.
Speaker A:Then in our past, a woman is telling Rufus and Bobby, who we've learned is Mrs. Henderson.
Speaker A:And Mrs. Henderson is telling Ru Bobby what's been Going on.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And her son called to her for help after he heard footsteps.
Speaker B:She ran to the room.
Speaker B:And she finds her kid on the floor unconscious.
Speaker B:And the room was cold.
Speaker B:Lights were off.
Speaker B:And the kid had a mark on his ankle, like a handprint.
Speaker A:And then we're like, oh, that's just like that girl from earlier.
Speaker A:And then Rufus wants to know if there's any affordable motels in the area, which makes Bobby look at him aghast.
Speaker A:Oh, no.
Speaker A:So then we're gonna go to the modern.
Speaker A:The modern motel where Sam has found the same room that Bobby and Rufus stayed in.
Speaker A:And he wants to stay in it for luck.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker A:Or just for us to save on scenery budget.
Speaker A:I'm not sure.
Speaker B:Yeah, probably both.
Speaker B:But Bobby and Rufus we see in the motel room where they're.
Speaker B:They're giving each other a hard time.
Speaker B:Rufus really wants to know why Bobby's sleeping in his car.
Speaker B:And Bobby's just, like, trying to blow him off, but he's got the real to report about deaths that have occurred at this house.
Speaker B:So then we see Sam and Dean having this conversation.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:And we learned that one of the deaths was because a dude choked on a chicken bone.
Speaker A:And another one was because a man shot his wife, which was less funny.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:Dean has the journal notes, and it says possible.
Speaker B:It's like a possible ghost hunt with jackass is basically what Bobby wrote and nothing else.
Speaker A:So no helpful information there.
Speaker A:Although that was hilarious.
Speaker A:Way to go, Bobby.
Speaker A:So Dean thinks, okay, this is going to be easy.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:We just need to find the graves.
Speaker A:Like Mavis said.
Speaker A:There's two of them.
Speaker A:They probably just burned one.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So let's go find the other one.
Speaker A:Easy peasy.
Speaker A:And then we just get to go home.
Speaker A:And Sam's like, that seems too easy.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:Yeah, that doesn't seem great.
Speaker B:And Bobby and Rufus are just talking as they leave the motel.
Speaker B:And Rufus is like, no, this is not a ghost.
Speaker B:This is a Baku.
Speaker A:Well, what was funny about this one is Dean opens up the door and it's just like.
Speaker A:Do you think Bobby and Rufus wasted time arguing about crap like this?
Speaker A:And then it cuts to Bobby and Rufus arguing about crap like that.
Speaker A:And Rufus thinks that it's a Baku because he hunted once.
Speaker A:Once in Alaska.
Speaker A:And so they're betting a bottle of Johnny on whether or not it's a Baku or a ghost.
Speaker A:And they've got some digging to do.
Speaker A:And our boys are going back to their favorite pastime.
Speaker B:Digging up.
Speaker B:Digging graves.
Speaker A:Digging up bones.
Speaker B:And as we hear Dean's commenting that there's got to be an easier way to dig up graves.
Speaker B:We see Bobby with a backhoe digging up a grave.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:Much easier way to dig up a grave indeed.
Speaker A:While Rufus supervises.
Speaker A:But the sun has gone down and Bobby hands Rufus a shovel to do.
Speaker B:Fit to finish the job.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:And finally Rufus asks again why Bobby has been sleeping and was sleeping in the car.
Speaker B:And Bobby finally gives up that he's been up for days looking for ways to stop the apocalypse because he's worried about his boys.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker A:And Rufus kind of questions him on calling them his boys.
Speaker A:And then starts talking about the sacrifice for the greater good.
Speaker A:And that that's the oldest rule of hunting is you can't save everyone.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So they hit a casket.
Speaker B:And then we cut to Sam and Dean opening a.
Speaker B:A casket.
Speaker B:And it's full of ashes.
Speaker A:Just an ashtray.
Speaker A:So not a ghost.
Speaker A:Baku, what is it?
Speaker A:We don't know.
Speaker B:So we see Naoki has returned to her creepy ass house and by herself for some reason.
Speaker B:And as she's walking through the house, the lights turn off and we hear footsteps.
Speaker B:And she trips and something grabs her foot and pulls her away.
Speaker A:Dick.
Speaker A:Rude.
Speaker B:So rude.
Speaker A:I'm also just really, you know, anti.
Speaker A:As we talked about last week, the Achilles tendon thing, it's really.
Speaker B:It's a.
Speaker A:It's a pet peeve of mine.
Speaker A:So now in the hospital, Naoki's in a coma and it's serious.
Speaker A:And it took me that long to make the girlfriend in a coma joke.
Speaker A:So you should be very proud.
Speaker B:I am proud of you for that one.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:All right, Doc.
Speaker B:Sam has found Dr. Richards.
Speaker B:She's retired, but she was there when this went down with the Henderson family a few years ago.
Speaker B:And she remembers that there was two FBI agents visiting then, so she wants to come see if she can be of help.
Speaker A:And we learned that the woman's first name is Mary.
Speaker A:So it is Mary Henderson.
Speaker A:Very close to Harry Henderson.
Speaker A:And so unfortunately, there's no scratching in this.
Speaker A:But I do.
Speaker A:I did kind of wonder.
Speaker A:So the Hendersons went back to the house again.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And so they were at a coma.
Speaker A:So everyone's just dropping.
Speaker A:Dropping into comas.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because while.
Speaker B:Yeah, Mary went into the coma too.
Speaker B:And so.
Speaker B:So Mary and Will, her son, are both in a coma.
Speaker B:And that back in the day.
Speaker B:And then.
Speaker B:And then current we've got Cat and Naoki both in a coma.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:But apparently they all.
Speaker B:All of them have had a weird mark on their ankle.
Speaker B:But it was not a normal coma.
Speaker B:Because all of their vitals were failing slowly.
Speaker B:Ish.
Speaker B:Yeah, rapidly, I guess they say.
Speaker B:But like, I guess rapidly are they.
Speaker A:Because they're not dead rapidly.
Speaker B:You'd be dead.
Speaker B:I feel like this is slowly.
Speaker A:I feel like they're slowly.
Speaker B:I agree.
Speaker A:I was like, slowly, quickly dying.
Speaker A:I guess it's just time is relative.
Speaker A:Like, how fast is slow?
Speaker A:Like, if you told them they were going to have six weeks to live and then like, they're dying in a day.
Speaker A:That is quite fast.
Speaker B:But yes.
Speaker A:Anyhow, so.
Speaker A:So then they're like.
Speaker A:The boys are like, oh, yeah, I wonder if the Hendersons are still around.
Speaker B:Well, and apparently, like, just after they were in the coma, this doctor tells them, by the way, the next day after all this, they just woke up and everything was fine.
Speaker B:So hopefully that'll happen again.
Speaker B:And Sam and Dean go to talk to the Hendersons, and they pull up and Mary Henderson is out front.
Speaker B:And she's a little squirrely.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But she's kind of like, I would be freaked out too.
Speaker A:And she's like, oh, there's men in black hair.
Speaker B:And she said, oh, God.
Speaker B:Is it happening again?
Speaker B:Because she's concerned about her son's safety, who we do not see here.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:Because we still don't.
Speaker A:We only know it was a handful of years ago, so we don't know how old that kid is now.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker B:And she pours some tea for them and says she woke up.
Speaker B:And the agents told her just to never touch the wallpaper in the sitting room.
Speaker B:But it didn't matter because, yeah, she wasn't gonna go back to that house.
Speaker B:But Sam's like, hey, there's two people that are in danger right now.
Speaker B:Do you remember anything from that time?
Speaker B:And she said, well, when I was in the coma, I had like, these nightmares, but it was.
Speaker B:It was.
Speaker B:I was in the house, but it wasn't the same.
Speaker B:It was dark and faded.
Speaker B:But I saw things.
Speaker B:I saw my husband was de.
Speaker B:I couldn't leave the house.
Speaker B:I could see some kind of, like, spirit things there, but that was it.
Speaker B:So that we sold that house.
Speaker B:And when the market crashed and we lost everything and our credit's.
Speaker B:But it's better than being in that house.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:They walked on their mortgage instead of dealing with that house, which, I mean, in.
Speaker A: In: Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:Just have been like, I guess, like, we just live here now forever and try and sell this to, like.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:I mean, there were a lot of problems back then.
Speaker A:Like, Nests.
Speaker A:We didn't even think about the nest being part of the problem.
Speaker B:Yeah, the nest wasn't.

Speaker B:Finally notices that there's red paint behind the wallpaper.
Speaker B:And then all of a sudden the wallpaper just like peels off very easily.
Speaker B:And I mean, poor Naoki was like working really hard.
Speaker A:She was like, yeah, she's like.
Speaker A:It was like she was doing that.
Speaker B:For hours, scraping the shit out of it.
Speaker B:And he's just like.
Speaker B:And so there's some kind of a sigil.
Speaker B:And Dean vaguely recognizes it, but we see that basically the scraper broke part of the sigil.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker A:And then we get a research montage.
Speaker B:We do.
Speaker B:It's so cute.
Speaker A:So cute.
Speaker A:So cute.
Speaker B:Well, Nightlife by Willie Nelson plays We've got Bobby and Rufus flipping through old books.
Speaker B:Sam and Dean flipping through Internet and books and journals.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's kind of a cool little thing.
Speaker A:So it is.
Speaker A:And Bobby finally gets the answer.
Speaker B:Soul eater.
Speaker A:Duh.
Speaker A:It eats souls.
Speaker B:It moves into a house.
Speaker B:It makes a nest that is outside of time and space.
Speaker A:And yeah, get out of my house.
Speaker A:Yeah, it doesn't sound great.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:But the soul eater can like get enough strength to like basically like the yank souls into the nest and then they.
Speaker A:With their head and it keeps them vulnerable while their meat suits just wither and die.
Speaker A:And then they move on to another house.
Speaker A:But he takes the souls with him to feed him in the leaner times.
Speaker A:And Bobby says like cud, which is a very disgusting euphemism.
Speaker B:It is.
Speaker B:And Sam.
Speaker B:And Sam has managed to find the same exact thing in modern times that they have.
Speaker B:So now we've got that parallel.
Speaker B:They've found the same potential monster.
Speaker B:And Bobby's like, fun fact.
Speaker B:Laura says they can't be killed, but they can be trapped.
Speaker B:And he also thinks he faced one once before.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker A:Yeah, in Tennessee in fact.
Speaker A:And Bobby tells a story as it was in Bobby's journal.
Speaker A:But then Rufus makes Bobby tell him the story, how it really happened.
Speaker A:And that's also quite funny.
Speaker A:So in like, Bobby's journal is like, I was guns blazing.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And like in real life, Bobby's like, yeah, I.
Speaker A:My pants.
Speaker B:Yeah, I filled my drawers.
Speaker B:And he's like, he could feel the badness.
Speaker B:He was trying to help his Hunter friend who then found unconscious there.
Speaker B:Poor Harvey.
Speaker B:And he didn't.
Speaker B:He heard footsteps, but he had.
Speaker B:But he had this old sigil that's supposed to trap monsters that just hadn't really worked in other cases.
Speaker B:So he did the sigil, and then the house went back to normal real bad.
Speaker B:Then they went back to normal.
Speaker A:I also just was like, this thing.
Speaker A:I had it.
Speaker A:It never worked before.
Speaker A:And I was like, shits and giggles.
Speaker A:Like, I'm gonna try it again.
Speaker B:O. I know.
Speaker B:I was like, that's a weird plan.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then, like, Rufus, like, goes to.
Speaker A:Why we love and hate Rufus because he's so dark.
Speaker A:Because, like, when you ask, like, you know what happened to Harv?
Speaker A:And, like, poor Harvey never woke up.
Speaker A:And Rufus just, like, oldest rule I know.
Speaker B:I'm like, harsh, man.
Speaker B:Jeez.
Speaker A:Oh, that man.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:So then we go from there to the present past, where they realized that.
Speaker B:That sigil was to trap the.
Speaker B:The Soul Eater.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:And, like, oh, Naoki broke it.
Speaker B:But they're also like, well, if they put the trap back in place, what happens to Naoki and Cat if they're trapped in the nest?
Speaker B:And then in that case, what happened to Mary and her son way back when or whatever.
Speaker B:A handful of years ago.
Speaker B:And so Sam h. Wants to go do more research, and he really starts wishing that Bobby and Rufus have been there to see what they're doing now with the Men of Letters.
Speaker B:Because they would have been the grumpy old Men of Letters.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker B:It's cute.
Speaker A:It is.
Speaker A:It's very.
Speaker A:So cute.
Speaker A:So cute.
Speaker A:But then Sam goes into this Men of Letters archive, which is now online and searchable.
Speaker A:Who is doing this?
Speaker A:Where is this being hosted?
Speaker A:Is it just on Sam's laptop?
Speaker A:I have so many questions.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Because they, like, broke up before the Internet.
Speaker A:Yeah, no, they.
Speaker B:A long time.
Speaker A:Somebody made this.
Speaker A:I mean, Charlie made the.
Speaker A:Ah.
Speaker A:But anyhow, so.
Speaker A:But it.
Speaker A:Thankfully, the Men of Letters did have an answer, because they found that you can make a more complicated sigil out of blood by cutting your hand.
Speaker A:And then somebody paints it inside the nest, and somebody paints it on the outside.
Speaker B:And then.
Speaker B:But that means somebody has to go in.
Speaker B:Somebody has to let themselves be taken into the nest.
Speaker B:And so Sam says they should rock, paper, scissors for it.
Speaker A:And Dean's, like, bit on cloud nine after finally winning one.
Speaker A:So he's all cocky and he's ready to go.
Speaker A:But sadly, his luck is over and he is lost once again.
Speaker B:Again.
Speaker B:So they have a plan.
Speaker B:They've got a jar of Blood.
Speaker B:And they go to the house.
Speaker A:So did the jar of blood come from his hand?
Speaker B:It's very confusing.
Speaker B:It's a lot of blood.
Speaker A:That's a lot of blood to come out of somebody's hand.
Speaker B:Like, I've got some.
Speaker B:This is like.
Speaker B:This is where I start getting annoyed with this episode a little bit.
Speaker B:But I like it.
Speaker B:Don't get me wrong.
Speaker B:But you're just like.
Speaker B:I don't know.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we get the past.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:We're not using blood.
Speaker A:We're just using paint.

Speaker B:Rufus is using red paint to paint the sigil on the wall.
Speaker B:And he is taking eternity to do this.
Speaker A:They're all taking like, why are you so slow?

Speaker A:So it's gonna get Harry in there.

Speaker A:And Bobby is walking around with a shotgun and he's gonna go upstairs.

Speaker B:You don't need to go upstairs.
Speaker B:Stay with Rufus.
Speaker B:This is stupid.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:So he's doing that.
Speaker A:Dean's walking around with the flashlight.
Speaker A:Bobby then switches to a flashlight.
Speaker A:Dean, now we notice also has a shotgun in one hand.
Speaker A:And then we get their.
Speaker A:Their ways that they.
Speaker A:They.
Speaker A:They talk to.
Speaker B:So cute.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:The soul.
Speaker A:The soul eater.
Speaker A:Everybody is going to stop.
Speaker A:Turn this off.
Speaker A:We say that one more time.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:So Dean says, come at me, you son of a.
Speaker B:And Bobby says, stay away from me, you son of a.
Speaker A:And then they both get yanked by their feet.
Speaker A:The soul eater is such an.
Speaker B:Such a jerk.
Speaker B:So we.
Speaker B:Dean wakes up in the nast.
Speaker B:But what that means is it just looks like the house, but dark.
Speaker B:Like.
Speaker B:Like empty.
Speaker B:And outside the windows is like black.
Speaker B:Black.
Speaker B:It's real creepy.
Speaker A:It is.
Speaker A:It's a very creepy place.
Speaker A:And he sees a dead Sam on the floor.
Speaker A:But it's an illusion.
Speaker B:Yeah, because he blinks and it's gone.
Speaker B:And then Bobby's waking up in his version of the nest stands.
Speaker B:And he's calling, you know, and then he sees what he's looking.
Speaker B:You know, called out to Rufus, but realized where he's at.
Speaker B:And then sees a dead salmon Dean on the floor.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:Oh, and then Bobby finds little Will Henderson, who hasn't seen mom, but he has seen the sad people that.
Speaker B:Yeah, that noise.
Speaker A:Little boys talking about the sad people.
Speaker B:Yeah, they're so.
Speaker B:They're super creepy dead people just standing very, very still.
Speaker B:And all their mouths are black.
Speaker B:And I don't know why.
Speaker A:And it's worse that they can't see that they're There.
Speaker A:Somehow that makes it worse.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Bobby can't see them, but he's surrounded by them.
Speaker B:It's so bad, it gives me the hibi g babies.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we go on the Earth side where Rufus has found Bobby.
Speaker A:And then just leaves him and says, oldest rule.
Speaker A:Sorry.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And runs back down to finish painting the sigil.
Speaker A:So slow.
Speaker A:You had one line to finish.
Speaker A:Why did you go look at Bobby?
Speaker A:Like you could have finished that sigil in the time that you went to go look at Bobby.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker A:One line.
Speaker B:One line.
Speaker B:So Sam, though, drags Dean's body into the kitchen where he's doing his sigil very, very, very slowly.
Speaker B:The sigil, not the dragging.
Speaker B:He drags you just fine.
Speaker B:The sigil is taking for every.
Speaker B:So, like, one line.
Speaker B:What the hell, bro?
Speaker A:Gotta get these angles exactly right.
Speaker B:And Dean's doing his sigil super fast inside the nest.
Speaker B:It's crazy.
Speaker B:And Cat asks him what he's doing.
Speaker B:She thinks it's pretty, so.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:But she's not supposed to talk to strangers.
Speaker B:Dean introduces himself and asks if she's seen her mom there.
Speaker B:And she's like, I can't see her.
Speaker B:It's too crowded.
Speaker A:No, thank you, ma'.
Speaker B:Am.
Speaker A:No, no.
Speaker B:Because shit's even more full in there than it was for Bobby.
Speaker B:And there's a bunch of people that Dean can't see.
Speaker B:And she says, you'll see them soon.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So Bobby is like, okay, we're gonna stick together to look for your mom.
Speaker A:And then there's just more sad people.
Speaker B:And immediately.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Runs off.
Speaker A:Yeah, we're gonna stick together.
Speaker B:He's like, yep.
Speaker A:And then we.
Speaker A:We finally.
Speaker A:We get to meet the Soul Eater who possesses Bobby.
Speaker B:Well, Bobby finally sees the sad people.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And then he gets possessed by the Soul Eater.
Speaker A:Which I guess is that.
Speaker A:I guess that is a possession.
Speaker A:So Soul Eater Bobby then tells Rufus that if he shoots him, he'll kill his friend.
Speaker B:But the Soul Eater's face.
Speaker B:Did it look like a gray to you?
Speaker B:Like an alien?
Speaker B:Had the big angled eyes?
Speaker A:I was like, kind of a little bit.
Speaker B:What is happening here?
Speaker A:Yeah, it could be.
Speaker A:It could be a gray.
Speaker B:Yeah, that's my.
Speaker B:There we go.
Speaker B:So, yeah.
Speaker B:So, yeah.
Speaker B:Possessed Bobby is now with white eyes.
Speaker B:Ew.
Speaker B:Is now telling Rufus not to shoot him with a shotgun.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Rufus is like, it's just rock salt.
Speaker A:Bobby can handle it.
Speaker B:I mean, probably, but damn.
Speaker A:It's a very, very close.
Speaker A:You could still kill something.
Speaker A:It's very close up range.
Speaker A:Don't shoot anybody with rocks.
Speaker A:All that Cool stuff.
Speaker A:Anyhow, so.
Speaker B:But then.
Speaker B:But then the.
Speaker B:But then, like, Possessed Bobby, like, the.
Speaker B:The soldiers just like.
Speaker B:No, just come with me to the nest.
Speaker B:Like, things like.
Speaker B:Rufus is just gonna agree to go with him.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then Rufus just is like, so you could show me some messed up stuff in there while my fabulous body rots run down here.
Speaker A:I love you, Rufus.
Speaker A:It's so great.
Speaker A:And so.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So Cat and Dean are there with their pretty sigil and cats.
Speaker A:And he's just like.
Speaker A:We're just waiting for my brother to finish.
Speaker A:He's so slow.
Speaker A:He cannot.
Speaker A:He cannot make this.
Speaker A:Why is it taking so long, Sam?
Speaker B:And then we have finally.
Speaker B:Dean can see all of the sad people, as I will also call them, because it's.
Speaker B:That's gross.
Speaker B:And then we get once again our Soul Eater.
Speaker B:Cloak.
Speaker B:Dude.
Speaker B:Gray approaches and Pedestine.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:So he gets in his meat suit and then, like, goes to Sam and he's like, I can't let you finish.
Speaker B:That finger painting, boy.
Speaker A:So the Soul Eater is like an old Southern sheriff now.
Speaker A:What the.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And Punches.
Speaker B:Punches Sam.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And we're gonna get some pretty good fights going on here.
Speaker A:But possessed Dean does also.
Speaker A:So the.
Speaker A:The Soul Eater, like, does get, like, their memories and because he's like, I can, like, keep you safe from the darkness.
Speaker A:So he knows about that.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:But he also wants Sam to just come to the nest.
Speaker B:Just come on.
Speaker B:I'll keep you safe from the darkness.
Speaker B:It's fine.
Speaker B:And then Sam's like, try to talk to Dean.
Speaker B:Like, talk past the possession, like, Dean, I know you can fight the.
Speaker A:Fight it.
Speaker A:Fight it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So we are just gonna have big old fight scenes with possessed Dean and Sam and possessed Bobby and Rufus are all having big old fights, but.
Speaker B:Except Rufus shoots.
Speaker B:But they're all fighting.
Speaker B:Lots of fighting.
Speaker B:But they.
Speaker B:Rufus breaks away and keep.
Speaker B:Finally gets to keep working on his sigil.
Speaker B:And possessed Dean is telling Sam, well, as they break in their fight, that your brother wants to go to the darkness.
Speaker B:I can keep you both safe.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But Sam gets to hit Dean with a chair because he's a lucky bastard.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:Yeah, so they're.
Speaker A:You know, they split up.
Speaker A:Sam goes work on the sigil.
Speaker A:Possessedine's coming after him.
Speaker A:But he gets to finish it.
Speaker B:He does.
Speaker B:Finally finishes the sigil.
Speaker B:And we see the cloaked Soul eater, like, pop out of the back of Dean's body.
Speaker B:It's real weird.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:But he's gone.
Speaker B:And Dean wakes up, but he's still in the nest.
Speaker B:He wakes up on the floor of the nest and Naoki and Cat are standing there and a bunch of the sad people surround.
Speaker B:What their black mouths really upset me.
Speaker B:I don't know what it is.
Speaker B:It's very distressing.
Speaker A:It is.
Speaker A:It makes some extra sad people, but.
Speaker B:They all start slowly disappearing.
Speaker B:And Dean walks into the next room and he sees Bobby on the stairs.
Speaker A:He sees Bobby.
Speaker A:What the.
Speaker A:So he goes back to his body.
Speaker A:Body.
Speaker A:He goes back to his body and is like, what the hell just happened?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And yeah, both of them end up back in their bodies.
Speaker B:So we then see Bobby putting.
Speaker B:Installing wallpaper, which is tough to do.
Speaker B:So good job, Bobby.
Speaker B:And to cover the sigil.
Speaker B:And his phone rings and it's Rufus from the hospital reporting that everyone's awake and happy.
Speaker B:But Bobby's like, that's good.
Speaker B:But I'm just really confused because that was supposed to be a trapping sigil.
Speaker B:So it should have.
Speaker B:Have honestly should have just trapped everybody there, including him.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we don't know what happened.
Speaker A:Isn't that weird?
Speaker B:Super weird.
Speaker B:So we still don't know what happened.
Speaker B:Rufus still insists that he was right.
Speaker B:That was a Baku that he killed while Bobby slept because he wants his body.
Speaker B:Bottle of Johnny Walker.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But you know, and also, just.
Speaker A:Who cares?
Speaker A:Like, just take the win, right?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And Bobby's like, I. Bobby doesn't like it.
Speaker B:But, you know, Rufus knows that Bobby saw something when he was in the nest.
Speaker B:And Bobby does confess.
Speaker B:He's like, look, both of both of my boys were dead.
Speaker B:And Rufus says, forget the oldest rule and hangs up.
Speaker B:Oh, he does have a heart.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So in our present time, Naoki's wife has finally arrived.
Speaker A:Arrived.
Speaker A:And so she's there with Kat, and they're talking on the phone with Sam and they're gonna sell the house.
Speaker B:Yeah, it has a safe now, but no, the kitchen.
Speaker B:He's like, the house.
Speaker B:Tim's like, the house is safe now, but you might need to remodel the kitchen.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:She's like, no, we're selling.
Speaker B:Thanks.
Speaker B:So we see Bobby leaving the house and waves at our nosy neighbor and gets in his car and sees that Rufus has left a bottle on his seat saying that he won.
Speaker A:And this is the same bottle that Jody finds with Sam in that other episode.
Speaker B:You're right.
Speaker B:Oh, I miss that.
Speaker A:So, yeah, so we're gonna call back to that and we're gonna write down what episode it was.
Speaker B:But, yeah, so he's starting to, you know.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Make a. Bobby's about to write in the journal, what happened?
Speaker B:But his phone rings and it's Dean.
Speaker B:And Dean says they've got a lead on Lilith in Maine, but they're somewhere else, so they need him to go.
Speaker A:Check on it in a not nice way.
Speaker A:You said that in a very nice way.
Speaker A:Dean's just like an.
Speaker A:Like, he's just so mean to Bobby.
Speaker A:And Bobby's like, fine, I guess I'm coming.
Speaker A:So that's why Bobby never finished that journal, because Dean was a jerk.
Speaker B:And Midnight Rider by the Allman Brothers starts playing.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:And then Sam and Dean leave the house.
Speaker B:Sam asks if.
Speaker B:If.
Speaker B:If Dean thinks that Bobby also went into the nest and how that worked because it was supposed to trap them.
Speaker B:And Dean's like, I don't know.
Speaker B:I mean, do you think we could have been in the nest at the same time?
Speaker B:Because it's outside of time and space.
Speaker A:Time travel is stupid.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Dean has the right response was let's get drunk and never talk about this again.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker A:But first gotta go to Tennessee.
Speaker B:Of course.
Speaker B:Because they've got to go figure out.
Speaker B:They've got to close the loop and figure out what this was.
Speaker A:Well, no, they're gonna finish the Soul Eater business because, Bob, because Bobby left the one with the sigils.
Speaker A:Now they have to go and actually, like.
Speaker B:Yeah, it's unfinished business.
Speaker B:They gotta go.
Speaker B:Yeah, finish it off.
Speaker A:They had to go finish it.
Speaker A:They had to go finish the other Soul Eater.
Speaker A:And so then Sam wants to know what else Dean saw.
Speaker A:And when Dean tells him, Sam's just like, it's kind of messed up.
Speaker A:That de.
Speaker A:Seeing a dead vision of.
Speaker A:Of me, of him is kind of comforting.
Speaker B:Yeah, it is messed up.
Speaker B:Agreed.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:But not surprising.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:And that's how we end.
Speaker A:So do we get to find out who some of these people were?

Speaker B:I think it really just, you know, I think the biggest thing this one did was a give a lot of satisfaction to the fans to get to see Bobby and Rufus and probably continuing this slight.
Speaker B:There's been a slight development, I think, in Bobby and Sam and Dean's relationship recently, and I think it kind of highlighted that.
Speaker B:And that's about.
Speaker B:About it as far as moving the arc for the season.

Speaker A:They said at the beginning we got nothing new on that.
Speaker A:No new Castle or Mara.
