Getting out of debt made me a pretty shit person for 19 months.
Deciding to get out of debt for the long term was a great thing for us, during the entire process however I was a garbage excuse for a person.
It consumed my entire life.
I made getting debt free my personality.
Deciding to get out of debt when we did, ruined my wedding.
It made me so miserable every single day.
It created so much bitterness inside my heart.
It left me with brand new wounds that have taken another couple of years to heal.
If you are at the beginning or middle of your debt-free journey or if even thinking about it scares the crap out of you, I get it.
I am essentially a cautionary tale of all the things NOT TO DO.
Live your life.
Don’t pick one month sooner of debt freedom over being there for the people in your life.
Don’t eat garbage food you hate just because you are trying to save an extra $6 on your grocery bill.
Don’t stew in resentment and bitterness about the things you are sacrificing when people around you aren’t sacrificing the way you think they should.
Don’t be debt-free journey, Cassie.
Learn from my mistakes.
