Shownotes

Kristin Kobes Du Mez is the author of "Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation" and professor of  History, Gender Studies, Urban Studies at Calvin University. She discusses how the culture of evangelicalism has become so political and how it may have gotten in the way of the work of the Whole Church. We ask if it possible to rectify with those factions that have become militarized and if we can still have Church Unity. She also talks about why white evangelicals have come to support leaders in the Church like Mark Driscoll at Mars Hill and political leaders like President Donald Trump.
