Welcome to the Soulful Paws Minute. My name is Scott and I'm the host. If you're new to me, welcome. Uh, thank you for joining me. I have lost two cats in my lifetime, Nomar and Mia. And today, uh, so this is going to be our shorter version of Soulful Paws. It's a Soulful Paws Minute. So we're doing five affirmations today.
So for this one, I want to talk about coping with the sudden loss of a pet. which can be incredibly challenging, of course, could be due to an accident, a sudden illness, or another unexpected event. And this kind of loss can lead us feeling overwhelmed and lost. So with my first cat, no more, who passed away, it wasn't a sudden death, but he declined rapidly.
He started to not act himself, act like himself on a Wednesday. And then I had to say goodbye to him on a Friday, so that was only two days. So it was pretty sudden to me. And of course, pet loss can be even more sudden than that. So today we're going to offer affirmations to help you navigate this difficult time with comfort and understanding.
And I always say, everybody grieves differently. You're on your own journey. Um, and it's important to honor your own journey. So we're going to do five affirmations. Feel free to repeat these to yourself, either out loud or silently. So let's begin. I allow myself to feel and express my grief, knowing it is a natural response to sudden loss.
I cherish the memories of my pet, finding comfort in the joy they brought into my life.
I forgive myself for any feelings of guilt or regret, understanding that I did the best that I could.
I'm surrounded by love and support, even in the midst of this sudden loss.
I honor my pet's life by remembering the love and happiness we shared, finding strength in those memories.
Thank you so much for joining me with these affirmations here. I hope they bring you just maybe the slightest bit of comfort. and hope that they help you navigate the unique challenges of coping with sudden pet loss. Remember, it's okay to grieve and to seek support as you move through this difficult time. Take care and remember to be gentle with yourself.
