The year is 1984 and Diana Prince is working as an anthropologist for the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. and fighting crime as Wonder Woman. A "wishing stone" is inadvertently used by Diana and her new friend Barbara before being stolen by Oil Magnate and TV personality Maxwell Lord. Wonder Woman learns that the stone is in fact a monkey's paw, exacting a price from each person who makes a wish, causing the world to fall into chaos the more it is used. Wonder Woman along with newly resurrected Steve Trevor must fight to either destroy the stone or convince everyone who has used it to rescind their wishes.

JJ is disappointed and is not afraid to say it. Javier shares his preference for DC and his love for Wonder Woman while feeling let down by both. Mattson discusses the danger of expectations.
