Welcome Paige to the Business Superfans Podcast.

Freddy D:

How are you this afternoon?

Paige Wilson:

I am doing great, Freddie.

Paige Wilson:

How are you doing?

Freddy D:

I've been doing pretty good.

Freddy D:

Long time no see.

Freddy D:

So back to the Chicago days.

Paige Wilson:

Back in Chicago.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Freddy D:

That was a hot minute ago.

Paige Wilson:

It was, gosh, I don't even want to think and a date

Paige Wilson:

myself, but think, but it's been at least probably close to 30 years.

Freddy D:

Yeah, it's been been, I went back for a little in 2008 for three

Freddy D:

years , lived downtown in old town.

Freddy D:

Then my brother ended up going to Germany for three months and I was on a

Freddy D:

month to month, so I went house sat his place and I ended up meeting my fiancé

Freddy D:

. It took a little while to move her back to Arizona because she didn't want to

Freddy D:

be one of those that meet some guy and then go halfway across the world and it

Freddy D:

doesn't work out, almost 12 years later we're actually tying the knot in 30 days.

Paige Wilson:

Congratulations.

Paige Wilson:

That's awesome.

Paige Wilson:

That is exciting.

Paige Wilson:

So when's the big day?

Freddy D:

October 2nd.

Freddy D:

We're getting married in Hawaii.

Paige Wilson:

Oh, fabulous.

Freddy D:

Yeah, and then we go on a long cruise.

Freddy D:

We leave Hawaii, we go to Kona from Kona Tahiti, American Samoa, New Zealand,

Freddy D:

and we finish in Sydney, Australia.

Freddy D:

And we're spending seven days in Australia.

Paige Wilson:

Oh my gosh.

Paige Wilson:

How long is the total trip?

Freddy D:

Five weeks.

Paige Wilson:

Oh my gosh, now that's what I'm talking about.

Paige Wilson:

That's a honeymoon.

Paige Wilson:

That's great.

Freddy D:

It took us long enough, so might as well take a long honeymoon.

Paige Wilson:

Good for you.

Paige Wilson:

Good for you.

Paige Wilson:

That's exciting.

Paige Wilson:

So exciting.

Freddy D:

Thank you.

Paige Wilson:

Paige, tell us a little bit about how you got to where you are in the

Paige Wilson:

health care field where you're actually helping people improve their health,

Paige Wilson:

weight loss, management and transforming people's lives in a very positive way.

Paige Wilson:

It's funny Freddie, because I really just fell into this.

Paige Wilson:

I spent 20 years in media sales and management, and that

Paige Wilson:

actually I was working in media when I met you in Chicago.

Paige Wilson:

And I about six years ago and just to give you a little frame of reference

Paige Wilson:

I'm getting a little personal here.

Paige Wilson:

I was a yo dieter.

Paige Wilson:

Okay.

Paige Wilson:

I was up and down and up and down.

Paige Wilson:

Not a whole lot.

Paige Wilson:

Maybe, 15, 20, maybe 25 after my kids pounds that I would yo and

Paige Wilson:

I did every diet under the sun.

Paige Wilson:

And I tried every pill, potion program out there and I could lose

Paige Wilson:

weight, but only to a certain point.

Paige Wilson:

And then I would gain it back.

Paige Wilson:

So six years ago I was introduced to this particular program that

Paige Wilson:

actually I am now coaching.

Paige Wilson:

And A week into it, I knew it was different from anything I had ever tried.

Paige Wilson:

And the program worked beautifully.

Paige Wilson:

I lost almost 30 pounds and I've kept it off.

Paige Wilson:

That was six years ago.

Paige Wilson:

In the process I had my coaches, Kept putting a bug in my ear saying, you really

Paige Wilson:

should think about coaching this program.

Paige Wilson:

That'll help you keep your weight off.

Paige Wilson:

You're going to have friends want to know what you're doing.

Paige Wilson:

Sure enough.

Paige Wilson:

I had a friend want me she wanted to know what I was doing

Paige Wilson:

and she wanted me to coach her.

Paige Wilson:

So I became a coach and I was actually at that time doing real estate full time.

Paige Wilson:

I was doing this coaching gig on the side, and it just, exploded.

Paige Wilson:

I put a post out on Facebook and the next thing I know,

Paige Wilson:

I've got 20 people joining me.

Paige Wilson:

Yeah, one post and it grew from there, and it grew so fast that I ended up

Paige Wilson:

putting my real estate to the side.

Paige Wilson:

Got with my coaches and said, okay, what's the financial opportunity here?

Paige Wilson:

Gosh, I can really create a business out of this.

Paige Wilson:

So that's what I did.

Paige Wilson:

It has grown to just to put it in perspective.

Paige Wilson:

I personally have coached over 700 people in the last six years, and my

Paige Wilson:

team has coached over 2, 500 people.

Paige Wilson:

We have have clients all over the country and I host a zoom every Saturday morning

Paige Wilson:

that draws about 150 to 200 people.

Paige Wilson:

As part of, our Mindset work and our education work and it's

Paige Wilson:

been an incredible experience.

Paige Wilson:

It's funny because when I had started on the health program itself, just

Paige Wilson:

as a client and I was doing real estate, I was working with a coach,

Paige Wilson:

actually a business coach, trying to, move my real estate business along.

Paige Wilson:

In doing some of that mindset work, I realized what my motivation

Paige Wilson:

was truly in helping people.

Paige Wilson:

It wasn't so much about real estate.

Paige Wilson:

It wasn't so much about selling houses.

Paige Wilson:

I really enjoyed helping people and when I started coaching Ken would hear

Paige Wilson:

me, my husband would hear me on the phone talking to clients and he heard

Paige Wilson:

my passion and he said to me, why don't you do this coaching thing full time?

Paige Wilson:

You clearly love it.

Paige Wilson:

That's when I went to my mentors and said, okay, what could this look like?

Paige Wilson:

But what I learned was that I could help people and a lot more people in

Paige Wilson:

a much more meaningful way, because truly it is about transforming lives.

Paige Wilson:

You start getting text messages from people telling you, I

Paige Wilson:

came off this medication.

Paige Wilson:

I came off this medication.

Paige Wilson:

Oh my gosh, I haven't felt this good in 20 years or I can't believe that I'm

Paige Wilson:

fitting to my wedding dress or whatever it might be, and it's pretty rewarding.

Paige Wilson:

It really is just rewarding.

Paige Wilson:

It's a fantastic feeling.

Paige Wilson:

So that's my story.

Paige Wilson:

I fell into it and it just grew.

Paige Wilson:

And then during COVID, it really exploded because everybody was

Paige Wilson:

sitting on the couch, eating ice cream, drinking drinks and then

Paige Wilson:

all of a sudden, bam, it was crazy.

Paige Wilson:

I could barely keep up with it, but it's been an amazing ride.

Freddy D:

When you're telling me that, you had people texting you that they get off

Freddy D:

of these medications and all that stuff.

Freddy D:

What you were doing there is you're actually creating superfans out

Freddy D:

of those people, because you've transformed them and they're

Freddy D:

sharing it with everybody else.

Freddy D:

So it sounds like your business really grew from a superfan perspective,

Freddy D:

promoting you, they're brand advocates, really, but I call them business

Freddy D:

superfans because I look at superfans as being advocates on steroids.

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Freddy D:

But that's your sales force.

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Paige Wilson:

A thousand percent, and as I get further and further into this business

Paige Wilson:

to give you an example, it's so funny, I have basically the entire town,

Paige Wilson:

let's just say it's a town outside of New York city Westchester County.

Paige Wilson:

Literally, I want to say the majority of that town is on

Paige Wilson:

my program from one person.

Paige Wilson:

So it's definitely the ripple effect.

Paige Wilson:

So this one gal who I hadn't talked to in years found out

Paige Wilson:

about me from another friend.

Paige Wilson:

We all used to vacation together on a little island off the coast of Maine, and

Paige Wilson:

we grew up going to that little island.

Paige Wilson:

I helped one person on that island and then she told this other

Paige Wilson:

person and then most of the island has done the program as well.

Paige Wilson:

Then she tells this gal and she starts telling everybody in her town and they

Paige Wilson:

all see her losing weight and looking fabulous, and so she's sending that to

Paige Wilson:

me, so literally I have this entire town.

Paige Wilson:

That's why I have clients all over the country is really a lot of that is through

Paige Wilson:

referrals and it's just, people love, they love the experience, they love the

Paige Wilson:

results and they love how they feel.

Paige Wilson:

Truly lives are transformed.

Paige Wilson:

So yeah, we, I experienced quite a bit of that.

Paige Wilson:

It's a lot of fun.

Freddy D:

Yeah.

Freddy D:

That's, when you're getting those referrals, that's a super fan is

Freddy D:

out there promoting and sharing that information with everybody that they know.

Freddy D:

It's because one, you're being genuine, you're really truly helping them, it's not

Freddy D:

about money the money comes so that's a byproduct really of doing the right thing.

Freddy D:

it reminds me when I was selling, manufacturing software, I was always

Freddy D:

looking where the company wanted to go because there was other competitive

Freddy D:

products that could do the same thing.

Freddy D:

A little bit different and stuff, but the end result was pretty much the same.

Freddy D:

But I didn't focus on that.

Freddy D:

I focused where that business owner wanted to go, and I helped them get there.

Freddy D:

This was just a tool that would enable him to get there.

Freddy D:

So what you're doing is a similar thing, is you're providing the tool to help them

Freddy D:

get to where they want to get to, and when they get there, they're your biggest,

Freddy D:

cheerleaders, because you delivered what you said you were going to do.

Freddy D:

Now you've got this sales force of superfans that are telling

Freddy D:

everybody, and now you tell me you got 2, 500 customers.

Freddy D:

That's crazy.

Paige Wilson:

Yes, it's exactly how it works.

Paige Wilson:

I built a business because now I have other coaches that are out there reaching

Paige Wilson:

people that I could have never reached.

Paige Wilson:

That's all part of the ripple effect because like me, they fell in love

Paige Wilson:

with the program and they knew that it would help them long term.

Paige Wilson:

And so they in turn wanted to help some other people as well.

Paige Wilson:

So it's just like this whole giant, giant ripple effect,

Paige Wilson:

but it is about, our approach.

Paige Wilson:

My approach really is the first thing that I'll do is sit down with people

Paige Wilson:

and have a really good, really heartfelt conversation with them on not just

Paige Wilson:

what they want with their health, but why they want it, what is their life

Paige Wilson:

going to look like when they get there?

Paige Wilson:

What is their motivation?

Paige Wilson:

I want to lose 50 pounds.

Paige Wilson:

Is one thing, but I want to walk my daughter down the aisle.

Paige Wilson:

It's a whole different story.

Freddy D:

That's the motivation right there.

Paige Wilson:

It's the motivation and you have to dig that out because as

Paige Wilson:

they're on the road and they're on the journey, sometimes it gets hard.

Paige Wilson:

So as a coach, I need to bring them back to their why.

Paige Wilson:

We call it your why.

Paige Wilson:

Bring them back to not just what they want, but why they want it.

Paige Wilson:

I want to be able to play with my grandkids.

Paige Wilson:

We've had, I've had clients who, I have a gal who lost, maybe 150 pounds.

Paige Wilson:

She literally can ride bikes with her grandkids now.

Freddy D:

That's amazing.

Paige Wilson:

Barely walk.

Paige Wilson:

She could barely walk and now she's riding bikes with her grandkids.

Paige Wilson:

I have another one who was basically bound to her chair because she had so

Paige Wilson:

much back pain, and now she is super active again, playing with her grandkids.

Paige Wilson:

It's these things.

Paige Wilson:

It's life changing stuff.

Paige Wilson:

It's not just a number on the scale.

Paige Wilson:

It's about literally changing, not just your life, but your family's life.

Paige Wilson:

Because when you show up better for yourself, you show up better for everybody

Paige Wilson:

around you, including your employers too.

Freddy D:

Sure.

Paige Wilson:

Yeah.

Paige Wilson:

So I dig into that a lot with my clients.

Freddy D:

So let's talk about team for a minute, and how you keep

Freddy D:

your coaches going, because you want them to be super fans of you.

Freddy D:

So what are the things that you do, so that the audience can learn

Freddy D:

is that if they do have a team of, whether it's sales managers.

Freddy D:

health coaches like you have, or real estate agents.

Freddy D:

What can they do to, or what is it that you're doing, is probably

Freddy D:

the better question, to keep those people motivated and keep those

Freddy D:

people championing your cause?

Paige Wilson:

I help them win.

Paige Wilson:

I help them win, and just like with clients, you have to dig

Paige Wilson:

in with your coaches to find out what their why is, what their

Paige Wilson:

coaching why is, what do they want?

Paige Wilson:

Do they want purpose?

Paige Wilson:

Do they want community?

Paige Wilson:

Do they need finances?

Paige Wilson:

What is it that do they want and what do they need?

Paige Wilson:

How important is it to them?

Paige Wilson:

When do they want it?

Paige Wilson:

We'll get real specific with goals.

Paige Wilson:

One thing that we do is we like to dream, so we'll do dream boards or

Paige Wilson:

we'll do we have this other thing we call dream napkins, where we write

Paige Wilson:

down, these dreams that we have.

Paige Wilson:

I, we put dates to them and all of that, so it's the same idea with coaches.

Paige Wilson:

You find out what they want, you find out why they want it.

Paige Wilson:

You help them dream and you help them win, and you help them get there.

Paige Wilson:

I partner especially with my new coaches who are new to the business

Paige Wilson:

and who need the help, I'll go hip to hip with them and I'll work with them.

Paige Wilson:

I have a new coach that I'm working with right now.

Paige Wilson:

I've been on the phone with her this morning.

Paige Wilson:

I helped her sign up several clients.

Paige Wilson:

Last night and today, that's a huge win for her.

Paige Wilson:

It's a huge win because she just wants to help people, but she's still new.

Paige Wilson:

So she needs the help.

Paige Wilson:

And really it's the same, it's the same in any business.

Paige Wilson:

It's like in real estate, your broker is there to help the agents

Paige Wilson:

to help you, it's the same idea.

Paige Wilson:

You have a true, desire to understand where they are, to meet them where they

Paige Wilson:

are, to challenge them and don't let them get comfortable keep them moving.

Paige Wilson:

Because.

Paige Wilson:

If we get comfortable, we get stagnant, and if I know that a coach

Paige Wilson:

wants something, if they want to hit a certain goal, just like with

Paige Wilson:

a client, I will challenge them, but out of love, out of a place of love.

Freddy D:

But how do you recognize them for their achievements?

Freddy D:

Because, one of my quotes in my book is, people will crawl through broken

Freddy D:

glass for appreciation and recognition.

Freddy D:

So let's talk about how you incorporate, appreciation, recognition, gratitude

Freddy D:

to keep those people motivated.

Freddy D:

Because goals are one thing, but, I still need to feel like I'm contributing.

Freddy D:

I still need to be appreciated.

Freddy D:

I still need to be recognized for my accomplishments because otherwise I

Freddy D:

feel like I'm not part of the team.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

100%.

Paige Wilson:

So with clients, we do celebration Zooms.

Paige Wilson:

We do celebration calls where we literally, we just did one the other

Paige Wilson:

night, we literally will get in a group on a Zoom and celebrate each client and have

Paige Wilson:

them come off and share and all of that.

Paige Wilson:

I may get them a little gift.

Paige Wilson:

Coaches, same thing, we will celebrate them.

Paige Wilson:

We have a coach Facebook group, a private Facebook group, so I'll celebrate them

Paige Wilson:

there so that all of their peers can see that they, have brought on X number

Paige Wilson:

of clients or that they have gone up a rank or, Whatever their achievement is.

Freddy D:

Because it's really important aspect as that's

Freddy D:

what keeps the fuel going.

Freddy D:

They hit another level in business, and now they're making potentially

Freddy D:

more money and things like that.

Freddy D:

It's very important for them to feel appreciated and that their

Freddy D:

efforts are being recognized.

Freddy D:

You said a key thing there about peers, because if I sit there and

Freddy D:

say, Hey, Paige, thanks a lot, really appreciate your effort.

Freddy D:

Okay.

Freddy D:

You feel pretty good.

Freddy D:

But if I turn around and say, Hey, everybody, I want to take a moment to

Freddy D:

recognize Paige for really knocking it out of the ballpark this last month.

Freddy D:

Whole different motion, completely different.

Freddy D:

Now not only are you motivated, the individual like yourself, but now

Freddy D:

all the other people saying, wow, I want to be that person that gets

Freddy D:

recognized, and that changes the whole dynamics of the whole equation.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly it, and another thing that we'll do with coaches

Paige Wilson:

is if a coach is standing out in a certain area, we'll have them speak on a training.

Paige Wilson:

That way, they get to speak on a training.

Paige Wilson:

They get highlighted.

Paige Wilson:

They're recognized and they're looked at as somebody who has

Paige Wilson:

made a great accomplishment.

Paige Wilson:

So much so that they're able to contribute on a training.

Freddy D:

And that's a huge motivator for people, because I remember years

Freddy D:

ago, I was with a company and the energy for me was to get to the point where

Freddy D:

I was training other people on how to market a particular service product.

Freddy D:

My energy was that everybody was looking up to me as being

Freddy D:

the expert and that was my fuel.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

Everybody loves to be recognized.

Paige Wilson:

Everybody loves it.

Paige Wilson:

So this Saturday morning Zoom that I do there are some times when I

Paige Wilson:

can't do it, and so I'll have one of my coaches host it and fill in.

Paige Wilson:

While it might be a little nerve wracking for them, it's a huge win,

Paige Wilson:

because they know that is near and dear to my heart, and for me to, trust

Paige Wilson:

them with it tells them a whole lot.

Freddy D:

It takes it to a whole nother level because now they

Freddy D:

got to step up to the plate.

Freddy D:

They have to transform themselves to be able to step up to that plate.

Freddy D:

Now you've just built their confidence because, wow, I did this,

Freddy D:

I pulled it off, and so now they move on to a whole nother level.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Freddy D:

And everybody starts looking at them and says geez, John just did that.

Freddy D:

I can do that.

Freddy D:

So now they're going to want to be that person and do the things so that they're

Freddy D:

picked the next time to host an event.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly right.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly it.

Paige Wilson:

And then another thing that I'll do is I like to do Facebook live interviews

Paige Wilson:

or I'll do a a Zoom, which I promote.

Paige Wilson:

Where I'm featuring a couple of different coaches on there.

Paige Wilson:

So that's a couple of things that I do with coaches and even with

Paige Wilson:

clients, if a client will let me, I'll, host a client on a zoom or I'll

Paige Wilson:

interview a client on a Facebook live.

Paige Wilson:

I had a client who went to Europe and lost a half a pound

Paige Wilson:

on a two week trip to Europe.

Paige Wilson:

Not only that, had a ton of what we call non scale victories, just made super

Paige Wilson:

choices and just did an awesome job.

Paige Wilson:

So I interviewed her about that on Facebook and it provided a lot of value

Paige Wilson:

for people who were watching because I told her, do you know how many people

Paige Wilson:

are afraid to travel while on program?

Paige Wilson:

You're going to provide so much value for them.

Paige Wilson:

But at the same time, it was very empowering for her.

Freddy D:

So now she's your super fan, because one, you've you edified her.

Paige Wilson:

Yeah.

Freddy D:

You recognized her and like I said, edified already.

Freddy D:

So you've taken her to where she's now your spokesperson in a sense,

Freddy D:

because she's sharing her story.

Freddy D:

So you don't have to do the selling, your coach, your customers,

Freddy D:

are your best salesperson.

Freddy D:

You just got to get them to talk and so you do it a nice

Freddy D:

way, which is a live Facebook.

Freddy D:

I've always said, take your smartphone, let's say you're in a home improvement

Freddy D:

industry and a customer is happy with the project, it doesn't have to be Hollywood.

Freddy D:

Just take the phone and create a quick video and ask permission to

Freddy D:

share it, and that's your salesperson.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly right.

Paige Wilson:

It's exactly right.

Paige Wilson:

I think another important thing is and this is a big basis behind

Paige Wilson:

my coaching is I want to empower, I want to empower my clients.

Paige Wilson:

I want to empower my ,coaches because on the client side, we're talking

Paige Wilson:

about lifelong changing lifelong habits and creating a healthy lifestyle.

Paige Wilson:

It's, you're not going on a diet.

Paige Wilson:

Diets don't work.

Paige Wilson:

You're looking at shifting this because if you don't shift this, nothing's

Paige Wilson:

going to change for the long term.

Freddy D:

Correct.

Paige Wilson:

But they have to know.

Paige Wilson:

that, they have to feel empowered.

Paige Wilson:

I don't want them to rely on me.

Paige Wilson:

I want to empower them.

Freddy D:

That's a big thing.

Freddy D:

I want to talk about that, and I want to really hit that hard because

Freddy D:

there's a lot of, unfortunately there's some business owners regardless of

Freddy D:

the industry that have the mindset that, you should be grateful.

Freddy D:

I have given you a job.

Freddy D:

Or they get into the micromanaging to where you have to ask permission

Freddy D:

for everything, you're never doing it right because, only

Freddy D:

they can do it the right way.

Freddy D:

It's refreshing to hear about the empowerment, because like I say, Sir

Freddy D:

Richard Branson, he's not making sure that the airplane tires on his Virgin

Freddy D:

Air has got air in it, or the plane's got fuel in it, or he's flying it himself.

Freddy D:

He's got people empowered to do those things.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Freddy D:

To run a business, you need to be managing the business,

Freddy D:

not working in the business, because if you're in the business,

Freddy D:

you can't see where you're going.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

And you need to multiply yourself, correct.

Paige Wilson:

Yeah.

Paige Wilson:

You need to multiply yourself.

Freddy D:

You can't scale otherwise.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

And that's all through empowerment.

Paige Wilson:

Hey, I tell them all the time, you know what I help my coaches.

Paige Wilson:

Hey, I hope you surpass where I am.

Paige Wilson:

I want you to surpass where I am.

Paige Wilson:

I want you to go as far as you want to go with this.

Paige Wilson:

Because everybody wins that way.

Paige Wilson:

Everybody wins.

Freddy D:

They have to have decision making abilities in business.

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Freddy D:

They can't be running up to mom or dad and asking permission of, can

Freddy D:

I give this discount, can I give that?

Freddy D:

No, you gotta run with it yourself, you're empowered, and tell business

Freddy D:

owners, that when I work with them is, you gotta give them a little bit of, leeway.

Freddy D:

Say, okay, you got up to 250 as an example that you can do what you need

Freddy D:

to do to make something right, and you don't have to ask me, just get it done.

Freddy D:

Zappos is one., there's numerous businesses that have that approach

Freddy D:

and they're very successful.

Freddy D:

The empowerment of your team, I can't emphasize that enough because

Freddy D:

that's transformative for a business.

Freddy D:

And the business owner doesn't need to be working in the business because

Freddy D:

he knows that his team, his management team are all out to help that business

Freddy D:

succeed because they're empowered.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Absolutely.

Paige Wilson:

Absolutely.

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Paige Wilson:

That's a big, that's a big thing for us, and that's also how, I've been

Paige Wilson:

able to grow this business is just through empowering and equipping my

Paige Wilson:

coaches and my clients, empowered clients are going to do the best.

Paige Wilson:

They're going to get the best results.

Paige Wilson:

They're going to have the best transformations, and they may

Paige Wilson:

end up coaching themselves,

Freddy D:

The other thing is you've created a network where

Freddy D:

people are supporting themselves.

Paige Wilson:

Oh, yes.

Freddy D:

That's the other aspect, and that's what I think I talk about is,

Freddy D:

there should be, when I talk to business owners, Customer Appreciation Day Team

Freddy D:

Appreciation Day, where you get out of the office or you, or if people are working

Freddy D:

like Kiley, she works remotely but they do have events where they either do a

Freddy D:

Zoom party for all the sales reps that are all over the country, or they fly

Freddy D:

people back into, Coral Gables, Florida.

Freddy D:

Then they have a, multi day team function, which builds

Freddy D:

camaraderie and everything else.

Freddy D:

So those are things that some businesses just don't even think of

Freddy D:

that stuff that I've worked with.

Freddy D:

It's mind boggling, because they're the ones that have high turnover rate.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Because just like you want to have the business superfans as customers out

Paige Wilson:

there, you want to have, your internal people, your business superfans as well.

Freddy D:

Really, you want all stakeholders, because like you

Freddy D:

said before, about mindset.

Freddy D:

So the owner's mindset needs to be in the right place.

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Freddy D:

Number one.

Freddy D:

Number two, you've got to energize the team, which is your employees

Freddy D:

or, your independent contractors, whatever it is, they're the same

Freddy D:

thing in my mind, they're the team.

Freddy D:

Then that energy transfers to prospective customers, as well existing

Freddy D:

customers, because if someone's feeling unappreciated and feel that

Freddy D:

they're underpaid and et cetera, their tonality is going to come across.

Freddy D:

Their energy is going to come across, and you got a prospective customer and

Freddy D:

they've got someone that's on the phone that's flat, that's not energized.

Paige Wilson:

Right.

Freddy D:

They're not going to buy.

Freddy D:

They're gone.

Freddy D:

Then you've got your suppliers.

Freddy D:

You've got your distributors.

Freddy D:

You've got your banker.

Freddy D:

If you don't have an accounting department, you've

Freddy D:

got accounting agencies.

Freddy D:

These are what I call complementary businesses.

Freddy D:

So it really incorporates that whole ecosystem of what runs the business.

Freddy D:

It all starts with like we were talking about is having people feel

Freddy D:

empowered, appreciated, recognized.

Freddy D:

And like you're saying, customers, superfans, but yes, you want

Freddy D:

your employees to be superfans.

Freddy D:

You want your complimentary businesses to be superfans.

Freddy D:

You want your supplier to be a superfan of you, because if you're in

Freddy D:

a tight spot, they might accelerate a shipment because they like you.

Freddy D:

They appreciate you because you took the time to send them

Freddy D:

a birthday card as an example.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Freddy D:

It's the little things that are the big things.

Paige Wilson:

Absolutely.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly right.

Freddy D:

So, that's what I'm building with this business superfans mission.

Freddy D:

I probably, mission's probably the better word, is helping businesses,

Freddy D:

understand that there's more to just having a team of people and expecting

Freddy D:

them to be thankful that they have a job.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

We're all humans.

Paige Wilson:

We're human beings and humans want to feel appreciated.

Paige Wilson:

They want to be recognized.

Paige Wilson:

They want to feel like they're important.

Paige Wilson:

They want to be empowered.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly it.

Freddy D:

You said something earlier, Paige, which I want to get back to,

Freddy D:

was you took the time to find out what's important to that individual.

Freddy D:

What's their why?

Freddy D:

It's the same thing if you're hiring somebody.

Freddy D:

It's one of the things that I don't understand why some

Freddy D:

companies just don't get this.

Freddy D:

And that is, people are motivated by different things.

Freddy D:

One person, money might be important, and you brought that up earlier.

Freddy D:

Then you can create a compensation plan for that person that

Freddy D:

matches what their goals are.

Freddy D:

Another person might want more vacation time, and the

Freddy D:

company, this drives me nuts.

Freddy D:

will say , you can only have one week or two weeks.

Freddy D:

No, you can customize stuff.

Freddy D:

You run the business, you own the business.

Freddy D:

Hello, so you can turn around and say, okay, this person wants a month off.

Freddy D:

Okay, we'll adjust compensation accordingly so that they can maybe

Freddy D:

take a week off every 90 days, like my friends in Europe do.

Freddy D:

So there's a lot of clever ways that you can package things that

Freddy D:

you need to for that individual to transform them and to say, man, I

Freddy D:

work at the coolest company ever.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Absolutely.

Paige Wilson:

Absolutely.

Paige Wilson:

We're also really into personal development and just helping

Paige Wilson:

people to just grow to every, grow where they want to grow.

Freddy D:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

Yeah.

Paige Wilson:

Yeah.

Paige Wilson:

And again, it goes back to what do they want?

Paige Wilson:

What do they want?

Freddy D:

Yeah.

Freddy D:

Some people want to continue at their education.

Freddy D:

They want to get a, a master's degree or a doctor's degree.

Freddy D:

Then if that's that person's goal and they're on your team.

Freddy D:

Accommodate so that you can help them accomplish that goal as a business

Freddy D:

owner and you've got a superfan because all of a sudden, wow, I can go and

Freddy D:

get my degree and I don't have to worry about, my conflict with my job.

Freddy D:

My job is tweaking it so that I can do both.

Freddy D:

Now you've transformed that company and that company's just been skyrocketing.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

Absolutely.

Freddy D:

Very cool.

Freddy D:

Where do you see yourself in the next few years with this business?

Freddy D:

Cause it sounds like it's just starting, six years into it.

Freddy D:

Yeah you're still got a lot of growth potential.

Freddy D:

There's only 300 some million people, actually almost 400

Freddy D:

million people in this country.

Freddy D:

2, 500 is 0.

Freddy D:

00000%.

Freddy D:

So you've got lots of opportunity.

Paige Wilson:

Yes, we have lots of opportunity and it's changing.

Paige Wilson:

The environment is changing.

Paige Wilson:

The business has changed, new things are coming out, and we just have to

Paige Wilson:

adjust for those new things coming out but, we'll never be for a lack

Paige Wilson:

of people who need what we offer, unfortunately, 75 percent of the

Paige Wilson:

population is either overweight or obese.

Paige Wilson:

There is a drastic need for what we have in this, not only

Paige Wilson:

country, but in this world.

Paige Wilson:

So yes, the thing is to just keep, stay nimble and adjust as we need to,

Paige Wilson:

as the market shifts and the market changes and things come out and, we've

Paige Wilson:

got people doing these medical weight loss shots now we can help them.

Paige Wilson:

We've got certain things that can help those people because they need help.

Paige Wilson:

They need guidance.

Paige Wilson:

They need coaching.

Paige Wilson:

They need protein, so we have a way to help them.

Freddy D:

I've heard that, people take those shots, lose those 20

Freddy D:

pounds and then stop taking them and, poof, the pounds are back.

Paige Wilson:

Exactly.

Paige Wilson:

Next year I was reading an article.

Paige Wilson:

It's going to be interesting to see what happens because there are a lot

Paige Wilson:

of people who are looking for a magic.

Paige Wilson:

Again, it comes up to you've got to work on this because if you don't work on the

Paige Wilson:

mindset and your habits and your thinking.

Freddy D:

Easy to slip, fall off the wagon and get back into it.

Freddy D:

And, it's okay to have a cheat day every now and then, you

Freddy D:

still need to be able to.

Freddy D:

right the ship and go back the direction.

Paige Wilson:

Yep.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly it.

Paige Wilson:

That's exactly it.

Paige Wilson:

And and I tell my clients all the time, it's not about

Paige Wilson:

perfection, it's about progress.

Paige Wilson:

I'll challenge them and I tell 'em right off the bat, you got lots

Paige Wilson:

of cheerleaders and I will be your cheerleader, but I'm also gonna be your

Paige Wilson:

coach And I'm going to challenge you.

Freddy D:

And keep you accountable.

Paige Wilson:

Yeah.

Paige Wilson:

Because my job is to help you get what you want, get you to your goals.

Paige Wilson:

I want you walking your daughter down the aisle, or whatever it might be.

Paige Wilson:

So yes, I just there's huge opportunity.

Paige Wilson:

There's, huge room for growth.

Paige Wilson:

And so we're going to keep, we're going to keep super serving people

Paige Wilson:

and empowering people and, doing all the things that we've been doing,

Paige Wilson:

but yet staying nimble as we need to based on where the market is.

Paige Wilson:

So I'm excited for the future.

Paige Wilson:

I'm excited to branch out, do more, grow and take it really not just to

Paige Wilson:

the next level, but beyond and beyond.

Freddy D:

Excellent.

Freddy D:

So as we wrap up here, what are the things that we had talked about a little bit

Freddy D:

earlier is an offer for the audience.

Freddy D:

So what do you, what is your offer for the audience?

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Paige Wilson:

Yes.

Paige Wilson:

So I will always do a free health assessment where I sit down and chat

Paige Wilson:

with you about what your goals are, where you are, where you need the

Paige Wilson:

help, how we can help all of that.

Paige Wilson:

But I will also offer 50 wellness credit.

Paige Wilson:

For the first five people who decide that they want to start program.

Paige Wilson:

So yes, I would love to offer that to your listeners, and also always, we'll always

Paige Wilson:

do a free health assessment as well.

Freddy D:

So how can people find your Paige?

Paige Wilson:

So they can go to my website at CoachPageWilson.

Paige Wilson:

com.

Paige Wilson:

That is probably the easiest way that my, the links to my social

Paige Wilson:

media will be on there as well.

Paige Wilson:

My phone number is on there.

Paige Wilson:

My email address is on there.

Paige Wilson:

If you just go to www.

Paige Wilson:

coachpagewilson.

Paige Wilson:

com and that's P A I G E.

Freddy D:

Okay.

Freddy D:

That'll be in the show notes.

Freddy D:

So people will be able to find it there.

Freddy D:

So it's been a pleasure having you on the Business Superfans podcast page.

Freddy D:

It was great to reconnect up.

Freddy D:

It's been a minute.

Freddy D:

We got to do a better job of staying in contact because 30 years is a bit of time.

Paige Wilson:

It is.

Paige Wilson:

And it flies.

Paige Wilson:

I, but it's so funny but 30 years, but we don't seem any older right?

Paige Wilson:

No, we haven't aged.

Paige Wilson:

It's just, I don't know how that happens really, but thank

Paige Wilson:

you so much for having me on.

Paige Wilson:

It has been awesome.

Paige Wilson:

It's been great visiting with you and I so appreciate you having me on.

Freddy D:

It was my pleasure, and I'm sure our listeners got some

Freddy D:

value out of it and we'd love to have you on the show down the road.

Paige Wilson:

Great.

Paige Wilson:

Thank you so much.
