When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Paul. Galatians 5:19–21, New Living Translation. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 16 of 30 Days Reflecting on the Kingdom. These behaviors—alone or together—demonstrate that kingdom principles are not taking root in our hearts. Paul isn’t talking about slip-ups, but a life where one or more these behaviors forms a common thread. The kingdom in our hearts NOW will eradicate these ways of living—and the kingdom future will be entirely free of them. Such behaviors reveal self-interest is still driving our decision making—instead of following the lead of the Holy Spirit.
