Episode #48 — What Keeps Getting Your Attention?

Series: Discover

What keeps coming back to you?

A person.

A question.

A need.

A Scripture.

A pattern you can’t quite ignore.

Sometimes God begins discovery not with a dramatic answer, but with an invitation to slow down and look a little closer.

In the first episode of the Discover series, Kim Gordon explores what happens when we stop rushing past what keeps stirring us and become more awake to what God may already be revealing.

Through the stories of Moses and Samuel, this episode reminds us that we don’t have to turn every observation into an assignment or every nudge into a decision. Sometimes the first step is simply to notice, listen, and ask:

“God, what do You want me to see?”

In this episode:

  • Why discovery often begins with noticing
  • What Moses teaches us about turning aside
  • The difference between curiosity and forcing meaning
  • Why discernment still matters
  • How God shapes the way we see
  • A simple 7-minute practice for becoming more open and attentive to Him

Key Scriptures:

  • Exodus 3:1–4
  • 1 Samuel 3:1–10
  • Matthew 6:21

This Week’s 7-Minute Practice:

Notice. Name. Ask.

Take seven quiet minutes and ask:

What keeps coming back to me lately?

Name one thing.

Then ask:

What does it stir in me?

Finally, pray:

“Lord, is there something here You want me to see?”

No pressure to solve it.

No need to decide where it leads.

Just listen.

End with Samuel’s prayer:

“Speak, Lord. Your servant is listening.”
