Carina and Martin continue their discussion about AI.
AI creates something new, but it's based on the information which has already have been found and AI put it all together.
Who exactly has the copyright?
One important question is; Could I use AI-generated text, anyway? Listen and find out the answer.

Welcome to Presentation Skills Q and A. I am Martin Lindesco.
Martin:Hi, Karina.
Carina:Hi Martin.
Carina:How are you today?
Martin:Good. Have you become a robot?
Carina:No, I'm fine.
Martin:You're talking to Martin the robots?
Carina:I'm talking it to Martin the robot.
Carina:Last time we were talking about AI.
Martin:Yes.
Carina:And that episode generated some questions, very interested questions, I should
Carina:say.
Carina:I have heard about this, how AI could be a
Carina:tool to avoid the copyright laws.
Carina:For example.
Martin:To avoid them, or to, how do you say go against them?
Martin:Or maybe they should be updated, the copyright laws.
Carina:Yes, of course they has to be updated, but today they aren't.
Carina:So I think it's how do you say evade the copyright laws.
Martin:Okay. Yeah. Okay. That's my thought about that.
Martin:If you're doing a presentation in one way or another and take material from a robot that
Martin:you have asked them the question, it's you that creating the question.
Martin:But the answer is there, out there somewhere on the net, because they don't make it up.
Martin:The robot can't create something in that way.
Martin:They could fetch information if we could put
Martin:it together in a nice way so it's already there, but then you could say the robot have
Martin:curated it.
Martin:And then I wonder where do you see?
Martin:How do you say the resources or link to the resource?
Martin:Do you get that? If you do, like chat with the popular openi
Martin:chat GPT? Yeah.
Martin:Do you get that this text is generated from these and these and these sources?
Carina:No, you don't?
Martin:Okay. Where you have an issue then yes.
Carina:You can say that the AI takes and chat GPT takes all the information in a topic and
Carina:puts it all together.
Carina:So the information has already been found.
Martin:But not the reference.
Martin:Not the source.
Martin:Direct source?
Carina:No, not the references.
Carina:I read an article and an interview with a
Carina:woman called Christina Weinnika and she's a policy expert.
Carina:How do you say property rights in some way.
Carina:And the question she was asked was can I use
Carina:AI and generated text anyway? So do I have to have the copyright and think
Carina:about the copyright? Or could I just take the text or the picture
Carina:or whatever? And you know what the answer was?
Martin:No.
Carina:It was yes.
Martin:Yeah. And I would say that, but for myself I would always say where is it coming
Martin:from? If you know it to say that this is generated
Martin:by a robot or something.
Martin:I haven't tested it yet, so I'm getting
Martin:curious to do it.
Martin:But I would probably also generate it text.
Martin:I will see what the robot knows about myself and about me and see what they are saying.
Martin:Like a bio, it could give inspiration, but then I will double check it and triple check
Martin:it and so on.
Carina:And that's why it's important in this way that you give the right information.
Carina:So how do you say fool around? Because as long as the text is created by a
Carina:machine and it is, you can argument about it.
Carina:But if it's a human being is involved, then
Carina:you have to look at the copyright thing.
Martin:Yeah, and there are humans that have created the content in the first place and I
Martin:have created the content by asking a question.
Martin:So it's similar to when you do a Google
Martin:search.
Martin:You create the question but it pop up answers
Martin:and there you have the reference directly to the source.
Martin:So this got me thinking in the future you have to get some do you get any kind of like
Martin:timestamp or you created this or generated this question and got these answers so you
Martin:could refer back to that or do you have to do the question again the next time you want to?
Carina:No you have a history, you have been searched but could you share it with others?
Martin:For example, if we have now generated about a topic about this episode because maybe
Martin:we have asked the robot what we will talk about, could we then refer to where we found
Martin:this answer, so to speak, from a robot, no references.
Carina:Okay it's this gray zone, should I say?
Martin:Yeah, the gray area but I see as long the market would be free and we are free to
Martin:express ourselves, it will be taken care of in one way or another so that's fascinating,
Martin:interesting.
Martin:So with this and we talked about last episode
Martin:also about how I'm using this technology.
Martin:And one example is transcript.
Martin:Yes, so that's generate and listen to our voices and put it together and then you could
Martin:edit it.
Martin:Yourself.
Martin:And I write that it's generated by this tool, all the two.
Martin:So you could get constructive feedback on that and so on.
Carina:But it's also and there, you see, that's a help.
Carina:That's help for our listeners, for example.
Martin:And you have also to say same as it is early stage in a way so you have to be aware
Martin:of that and give it some time also and it will be better and better and talking about that my
Martin:call to action here is to download a new podcast app on newpodcastapps.com or the
Martin:shorter version, the URL, is Podcastapps.com.
Martin:And there you will find several different new
Martin:podcast apps that you could use in order to listen to our podcast and then also give us
Martin:feedback with a digital telegram and send a donation for example.
Martin:And could be reading feedback.
Martin:Yeah, feedback and you could read transcripts
Martin:and so on so that could be something to look out for.
Carina:Yes, this is a very interesting topic, I should say and we will return to it.
Carina:We have so many articles to go through and read and people have thoughts and ideas about
Carina:it and in the.
Martin:Future we could put two robots here or parrots that could mimic us.
Carina:No, I don't think so.
Carina:I don't think so at all.
Carina:But it was nice to talk to you, Marcus.
Martin:Same, Karina. So cheerio.
Martin:And talk soon again.
