Kenny Hickey

As the guitarist for goth-metal icons Type O Negative, Kenny Hickey sold millions of albums and toured with everyone from Pantera to Motley Crue during the mid-1990s through the early 2000s. Today, he fronts the doom-metal supergroup Sun Dont Shine featuring members of Crowbar, Down and Type O. He joins us to discuss Sun Dont Shine’s debut album, “From Birth to Death,” the band’s balance of crushing power and ethereal melodies, the contrast in writing styles between himself and Kirk Windstein, and the unexpected announcement that a live Type O Negative album is in the works.
