We’ve been in the thick of it.
In this episode, Nancy and Matthew catch up after a whirlwind few weeks of showings, offers, inspections, permits, repairs, packing, and finally selling the house. What started as a big decision quickly turned into a full-on sprint—and now, with closing around the corner, they’re beginning to exhale.
They talk honestly about stress, emotional overload, community, faith, health, and what it feels like to leave one chapter behind while stepping into a brand-new season of life. From snowstorms and storage bins to retirement planning and the power of asking for “seven minutes,” this episode is a real look at transition, resilience, and starting fresh.
Takeaways:
Welcome to.
Speaker A:We Should Probably Edit this, But we won't.
Speaker B:This is about our life's messy journey.
Speaker B:It's unscripted talks about growth, real laughs sometimes.
Speaker A:Real laughs sometimes just the chaos and.
Speaker A:And we think there's a little bit of comedy here.
Speaker B:Everything.
Speaker A:It's about our 37 years of marriage and our experience.
Speaker A:I'm Matthew Greger.
Speaker B:And I'm Nancy Greger.
Speaker B:And we're your host of We Should
Speaker A:Probably Edit this, But we won't.
Speaker A:And we probably should have edited that.
Speaker A:So here's our next episode.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:All right, we're on.
Speaker A:It's working today.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Well, welcome to our first March episode.
Speaker A:And we should probably edit this, but we won't.
Speaker B:So you're wondering where we've been.
Speaker B:Oh, boy.
Speaker B:Where.
Speaker B:What have we been doing these last few weeks?
Speaker B:I don't remember the last time we.
Speaker B:We.
Speaker B:We did this.
Speaker A:It was right before we started really moving and things.
Speaker B:So we listed our house and we, the realtor did a coming soon type of deal.
Speaker B:So we listed our house.
Speaker B:And then a week later we were going to start the showings and we said, okay, starting Saturday from.
Speaker B:I think it was 9 o' clock in the morning till about 7 o'.
Speaker B:Clock.
Speaker A:Originally, we had set up two.
Speaker A:Two shows Saturday, Saturday and Sunday.
Speaker A:However, there was a big snowstorm.
Speaker B:That was huge.
Speaker B:It was.
Speaker B:It was a big snowstorm.
Speaker B:So we had to cancel Sunday.
Speaker B:We did all day Saturday.
Speaker B:We got a Saturday in and then we rescheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Speaker B:It was a whirlwind of showings.
Speaker B:It was like unbelievable.
Speaker A:And we had over 40.
Speaker B:I would say 45.
Speaker A:45 showings.
Speaker B:Yeah, 46 showings.
Speaker B:So it was a lot of people.
Speaker A:So it was within one week span time starting.
Speaker A:Starting Saturday and it ended Wednesday.
Speaker A:And then they had this highest and best on Thursday.
Speaker B:And by Thursday night we had accepted an offer.
Speaker A:So, yeah, There were over 12 offers that came in.
Speaker B:They were over 12 offers.
Speaker B:They were.
Speaker B:They were a range from what I would consider realistic to.
Speaker B:I don't know what you're thinking, but that was good for us.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because we ended up selling the house for a price that.
Speaker B:For.
Speaker B:I would have never imagined that we would get.
Speaker B:And so because of that, we're closing March 9th.
Speaker B:We had a little bit of hiccup inspection.
Speaker A:It's a lot.
Speaker A:It's a lot of stress when you're moving and when you're.
Speaker A:For sure because you don't want the deal to fall apart.
Speaker A:But yet you've got 11 other offers.
Speaker B:We were moving regardless of where the offers took us.
Speaker B:We made that commitment that we were going to move.
Speaker B:We were going to give the house one week fully furnished, and by the following week we were moving.
Speaker A:And which we did.
Speaker B:Which we did.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:So we've moved, we've sold the house.
Speaker A:We've gone through inspections.
Speaker A:We had to deal with open permit issues.
Speaker A:We had to repaint, Clean the house.
Speaker B:Clean the house.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker B:And by yesterday.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker B:We finished it all.
Speaker A:Well, we finished with the house.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's ready to close next week.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because we are going to be gone.
Speaker B:We are going to San Diego for our ultra event.
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker B:We're going to be meeting up with some fellow friends that we haven't seen for a while.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:And we're looking forward to it.
Speaker A:So our growth friends.
Speaker B:Our growth friends are looking forward to.
Speaker B:So it's going to give us an opportunity to.
Speaker B:To get a little warmer because it is cold here we live.
Speaker B:Get a little warmer and relax a little bit.
Speaker A:Get rid of the white snow for a little while.
Speaker A:This, this winter has been.
Speaker A:Has been an interesting winter.
Speaker B:It's been brutal.
Speaker B:It's been the winter that, you know, years are in the making that before.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Well, normally here, where we live in, in Norwalk, Connecticut, if you get.
Speaker A:If you get snow, it doesn't last very long, maybe a week.
Speaker A:You know, it warms back up and it's gone.
Speaker A:And usually the snow that does come, sometimes it's plowable or snow shovelable or snow blowerable.
Speaker A:But this time we've had so much snow and then it got so cold the first time around before this last blizzard that came through.
Speaker A:Frozen, you know, everything was just frozen.
Speaker A:You haven't seen green grass in a long time.
Speaker B:Mountains and mountains.
Speaker A:We were lucky.
Speaker A:There was that big snowstorm in December that we got stuck in after taking Ben from the airport.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, with that.
Speaker B:But that kind of came in.
Speaker A:No, but it lasted a while.
Speaker A:But then we warmed up just.
Speaker A:Just enough to like, get rid of it so we could have our photos
Speaker B:for the house, for the listing, for the outside.
Speaker B:It was beautiful by that point.
Speaker B:The grass was.
Speaker B:You could see the grass.
Speaker B:There was no snow anyway.
Speaker A:Not quite sure it was as green as what was in the listings photos,
Speaker B:but no, I think it was.
Speaker B:I think it was because you can't change something without disclosing it.
Speaker B:So I'm pretty sure that that was the color.
Speaker B:But we ended up with one really fabulous day of beautiful and warmer weather that we were able to get the pictures done.
Speaker B:So things always happen for a Reason.
Speaker B:And while it's always a little traumatizing, I don't think this is the third house we've bought and sold.
Speaker B:I don't really.
Speaker A:Why does this.
Speaker A:Why does this one seem more stressful than the others?
Speaker A:Is it?
Speaker A:Is it?
Speaker B:No, I think you forgot.
Speaker B:I think it's like.
Speaker A:Is that what it is?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So next year at this time, if you ask me about it, I won't think it was as bad.
Speaker A:It was as stressful.
Speaker B:I think we learned for each move and we learned from each house.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:We lucked out for the preview.
Speaker B:The first two houses, actually, even this house, because the first house I wasn't a realtor, but the second house I was.
Speaker B:And the third house I was.
Speaker B:So we saved on some commission when we bought and sold.
Speaker A:But this time when you bought this third house.
Speaker A:But when we sold this third house, we were not.
Speaker B:Correct.
Speaker A:We were no longer.
Speaker B:I was an agent for 17 was fine, but.
Speaker A:And an agent for 98 when we bought it.
Speaker A:But when you.
Speaker A:When you sold the house this time around, you were not.
Speaker B:We saved a little bit of money.
Speaker B:That was in the beginning.
Speaker A:This time we didn't.
Speaker B:We didn't.
Speaker A:We.
Speaker B:We hired someone, but I don't know
Speaker A:if we would have gotten the price we got if we hired somebody else.
Speaker B:Well, let me put it you this way.
Speaker B:He was very confident.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker B:Very confident of what he felt we were going to get for the house compared to the other agents.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:He had.
Speaker B:He was like, up here.
Speaker B:And the other agents were kind of like, eh, this is where I'm feeling.
Speaker A:Well, he proved his worth on it.
Speaker A:And you did.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:But yeah.
Speaker A:So through the process, I think what it teaches you or taught me is just to have a little more faith and a little more.
Speaker A:A little more patience and knowing that the process is going to go through.
Speaker A:I mean, when the, when the inspection report came through, when they, when they did that, it was just like, it seemed insignificant, the things that were in there.
Speaker A:Even afterwards.
Speaker A:Wendy, he came to pick up the radon test.
Speaker A:I talked to the inspector a little bit, and he said he had to, like, struggle to find anything wrong with our house.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:But he still managed to put some things down.
Speaker B:So I'm not sure about that.
Speaker B:But the good news is is we have been very much on a mission since we decided to put the house on the market.
Speaker B:We were very much on a mission to get rid of a lot of things.
Speaker B:And we got rid of a lot of things.
Speaker B:Things.
Speaker B:And even to yesterday at the very last day, we had Two pieces of furniture left in the house.
Speaker B:And we finally sold those two pieces of furniture.
Speaker B:So I would say to somebody, if this is what you're going to want to do, don't wait to the last minute to do any of it.
Speaker B:Plan your plan, what it is that you're going to do.
Speaker A:And this will be.
Speaker A:Since we started it, it'll be six months that we.
Speaker A:Actually, it's been a six month process.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:You know, and that's still even a short, a short window of time.
Speaker A:I mean, we didn't really start doing a lot till end of November, end of week.
Speaker B:It was cleaning up.
Speaker B:It was cleaning up and it was kind of getting the house.
Speaker A:I mean, it's like we went from a house to a condo.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:And so we got rid of the garage, the storage shed, the basement.
Speaker A:And you know, over the years, that's where a lot of stuff, a lot of stuff is.
Speaker B:It's the someday stuff.
Speaker A:Keep hitting the.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:Keep.
Speaker A:I'm the one that's doing the video.
Speaker B:So it was the someday stuff.
Speaker B:Someday this is gonna come.
Speaker B:I'm gonna need this someday.
Speaker B:It turns out that that's probably the one word we decided we're never gonna use again.
Speaker B:There is no someday.
Speaker B:It's now or never.
Speaker B:There's no someday.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:So once you take that in your, in your mind that it's now or never, you make decisions a lot faster.
Speaker A:I mean, that's what we did with, when we, with this decision.
Speaker A:We had to decide what are we keeping, what are we not.
Speaker A:You know, I really did my best to get rid of those someday things that are in there.
Speaker A:I do still have my buoys for my boat because someday I will have a boat, but no but I will have a boat again.
Speaker A:And there are a few things, but most of all the tools and stuff are just, just stuff that I could use now with things that I do.
Speaker A:There's a few things that I probably don't really need, but is that it had to fit.
Speaker B:The good thing about this particular condo that we moved into is it, it allowed.
Speaker B:It gave us a pretty big storage unit that we were able to.
Speaker A:Yeah, six by nine.
Speaker A:And, and we organized it in such a way.
Speaker A:We brought in some of their metal shelves and then we got uniformed containers, storage containers.
Speaker A:Not the real big standard 27 gallon ones, but we got 17.
Speaker A:And they fit really nice on those, on those shelves.
Speaker A:So as long as we can get everything in there, it's uniformed, you know, and it makes, it makes storing things that much, that much easier.
Speaker A:You Know, so if you're.
Speaker A:If you're going to do that, really consider about being consistent and putting things in unified, you know, containers.
Speaker A:It just makes it much easier for stacking.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And by this time around, we didn't really have anything to give to the kids because two of our kids live far away, and the third one, he's, you know, he's local, but not really ready for some of the things that we had.
Speaker B:So it was a good decision just to sell it or donate it.
Speaker B:And, boy, we.
Speaker B:We.
Speaker A:I just wish there was a better source for donation.
Speaker B:Yeah, the donation part wasn't.
Speaker B:I mean, let me put you.
Speaker B:We could have done free.
Speaker B:We could have put on Facebook marketplace free, but we would be dealing with so many people.
Speaker A:We already did some free stuff, and it was.
Speaker B:And it was crazy.
Speaker B:It was.
Speaker A:But it.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:But even, like, a donation way to donate things, because, I mean, we used Habitat for Humanity, and I really thought for sure that what we had put together were things that they would take, people could use.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And it's like I had, like, all my garden tools, and none of them went.
Speaker A:They wouldn't take any of them.
Speaker B:They wouldn't take any of the garden tools.
Speaker B:And they were kind of like, what.
Speaker B:It was interesting.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:It was a learning experience.
Speaker B:Absolutely.
Speaker B:But, I mean, let's face it, we still worked out, I think, from selling all of our stuff, we made well over $6,000.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:In.
Speaker B:In the things that we.
Speaker A:I mean, it's a fraction of the
Speaker B:fraction of the amount of what we paid for.
Speaker A:But you have to realize you're lucky to get 25% of what you.
Speaker A:What.
Speaker A:Of what you bought it for.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:You want to get rid of it.
Speaker B:So you had to make things enticing enough to get somebody out there.
Speaker B:And some things we got rid of were very, very heavy pieces.
Speaker B:I mean, it was kind of like, oh, who's gonna pick this up?
Speaker B:Because it weighs 800 pounds or something?
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:But we did it.
Speaker B:High five.
Speaker A:High five.
Speaker B:We did it.
Speaker A:I mean, I think that.
Speaker A:I think the thing that threw us for a loop last week was when we got the municipal records and.
Speaker A:And they showed three open.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Here's the funny thing is that I had a feeling we were gonna hit.
Speaker B:We were gonna have some open permits.
Speaker B:I had a feeling.
Speaker A:You had this feeling.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because it was.
Speaker B:Certain things were done right.
Speaker A:They were done during COVID And I.
Speaker B:And I extinctly remember the electrician with the garage, and.
Speaker B:I remember.
Speaker A:But I thought they took care of it.
Speaker B:No, he took pictures.
Speaker B:He Kept sending pictures, they kept going back and forth.
Speaker B:He would show up and the inspector wouldn't.
Speaker B:And it was one thing after the other.
Speaker B:And I think we just resolved ourselves saying, okay, we'll just let it go.
Speaker A:But, but a lot of, a lot of the contractors, they didn't follow up on getting the, the final inspection.
Speaker A:So that's what really happened with it.
Speaker A:And so there were three open permits.
Speaker A:Fortunately, we only had to do one corrective.
Speaker B:We fixed things in four days because Monday was a snow day, the city was closed, we got notified via email, and within four days we had it all done.
Speaker A:Yeah, we had, we had our certificates of compliance, but there was only one thing we had to fix.
Speaker A:The others was getting health out, getting zoning back out, just getting people to see that the one thing we had
Speaker B:to fix was the garage.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:We had to put a cut off.
Speaker B:So that was, that was, so.
Speaker A:But it was nerve wracking because it was one thing that could still be a clause that the buyers could get out of.
Speaker B:Correct.
Speaker A:If they, if they found anything with
Speaker B:the records there were open permits, it would be a reason for them to be able to back out of the deal.
Speaker B:Now, from this point on, there is no reason, right?
Speaker B:We made sure that our deal was no mortgage contingency and no appraisal contingency, which means if you were getting financing, I could care less whether you got approved or not.
Speaker B:You had to show me that you had the money to buy my house cash outright if you needed to, and two, if you got financing, you were 100% the lender was going to get an appraisal.
Speaker B:I don't care what the house came in appraised at.
Speaker B:So if the house came in at a lower point from what you purchased, that just means you're going to have to come to the table with more money.
Speaker B:So we made sure that those two conditions were part of our contract and part of our deal.
Speaker B:And so because of that, I'm like, okay, so we did our end.
Speaker B:We made sure that the permits got resolved and we sent that to our attorney.
Speaker B:We already signed off on the documents because like I said, we're going to be away.
Speaker B:So now it's just a matter of, hey, buyer, come to the table and bring a checkbook.
Speaker B:So it'll be, it'll be freeing when we come back from San Diego because at that point in time, we're 100% out of the other house.
Speaker A:We won't have that responsibility with all the snow.
Speaker A:That's also the added burden of knowing that you're having to take care of that place, even though we're in a condo now.
Speaker A:And this is more or less taken care of by the management for the snow.
Speaker A:But that house we still had to be responsible for.
Speaker A:So, I mean, all my cameras are still up and running, so I can just see what's going on.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:I mean, like, we had.
Speaker A:I heard a noise the other day on it, and I didn't know what it was, and I said, this isn't a normal noise.
Speaker A:And so when I went in, the sump pump was continuously running, because when they did the inspections and they looked at it, there's a hose that comes from the dehumidifier in there, and it got stuck on the float, you know, because they didn't put it back in correctly.
Speaker B:Correctly.
Speaker B:So little things like that.
Speaker A:So, I mean, it's like when you live in a house, you pay attention to what things are, the sounds that it makes.
Speaker A:So if you're leaving a house open or vacant for a period of time, just make sure you have the appropriate monitor things in place.
Speaker B:In place.
Speaker B:Because you don't.
Speaker B:You definitely.
Speaker A:Especially during the wintertime like this, when it was so cold for so long.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:You know, you want to make sure you leave the heat running, you know, and you don't want ice dams or any of those kind of things to happen.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker B:So I think.
Speaker A:So that's the last you're gonna hear
Speaker B:a baby sigh of relief now because we.
Speaker B:We've.
Speaker B:We made this a monumental change.
Speaker B: So starting in: Speaker B: We're already into March: Speaker B:We have done a tremendous amount, and now we are going to begin the next process, which is get ready to retire.
Speaker A:Well, get ready to retire in.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:But what I mean by getting ready to retire, getting our.
Speaker B:Our finances in order so that Right.
Speaker B:In those few years when they come knock, we're here, we're prepared, and we're ready.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And that.
Speaker A:That's what we'll go through and in future shows, you know, what we're doing to invest, how we're investing.
Speaker B:And it's not too late.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:Just because, you know, coulda, woulda, shoulda.
Speaker B:When I was 20 years old and I was working, should I have done certain things?
Speaker B:Absolutely.
Speaker B:But back then, it's like there was no cell phones back then.
Speaker A:No, it's.
Speaker A:What it was, is we were using that word again.
Speaker A:Someday we're gonna do this.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:And then it catches up to you.
Speaker B:Cause life moves very, very quickly.
Speaker B:And before you know it it's here.
Speaker B:So now is the time to, to plan and now is the time to really just execute a specific.
Speaker B:But I think to some extent it helps us now because it's just the two of us.
Speaker B:We don't have small children anymore.
Speaker A:What helps us?
Speaker B:It's just you and me.
Speaker B:And so you don't have the concern of raising children and the expense that they bring.
Speaker A:Right, right.
Speaker A:I mean, at that time you're just all consumed by them and doing, and taking care of, take care of them.
Speaker A:And a lot of times you lose sight of what you should be doing to plan for the future during that time for yourself.
Speaker A:Well, yeah, for yourselves and for them.
Speaker A:Even when it comes to like college education, you know, we didn't save correctly,
Speaker B:we didn't start, we didn't do a lot of things.
Speaker B:But I'm convinced of the fact that it doesn't matter.
Speaker B:What matters is what we're doing now.
Speaker B:What matters is, is that we've put ourselves in a position where we can really, really, truly focus on what it is that we want to do and also focus on, okay, what does the next phase, decade of our life, what is it going to look like, where we're going to be, what are we going to be doing?
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And that's why we signed a two year lease in this apartment.
Speaker A:We just chose not to buy right now because we don't know where we want to be.
Speaker A:We don't know what we want really either.
Speaker A:We just know it was the right time to sell.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So we took advantage of that and we knew, and we knew that house was probably not going to be the house for us after certain things transpired through the, through the time period that that house was not going to be the house for us.
Speaker A:So why not take advantage of the market and then get yourself set up, Give that extra boost that we needed, that we needed to do that.
Speaker A:But so in future episodes we'll go over a little bit about what we're doing to invest and how we're planning to grow our money and prepare for retirement.
Speaker A:We'll go, you'll get into more of what we want to do next with this show.
Speaker A:Trying to bring some guest people on, maybe do some speaking with it, looking at really reaching out and trying to help you guys out there.
Speaker A:Where, look, look, if you guys have questions or you're not sure what to do, you're in the messy middle.
Speaker A:You know, we may not be experiencing the exact same thing that you're going through, but we can contribute and we can help well, we can help you
Speaker B:figure a few things out, but this is the year of the fiery horse.
Speaker B:So we're gonna take the reins and we are hitting like a rocket ship.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:That's right.
Speaker A:We're starting.
Speaker A:And to me.
Speaker A:To me, that's kind of starting now.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:As we end this chapter.
Speaker A:And then there's nothing better than starting in San Diego with our friends and with growth Day and really getting re.
Speaker A:Energized.
Speaker A:Re energized.
Speaker A:To come back and start those other projects that we're going to do to add additional income, you know, because just get ready.
Speaker B:Like I said, what's going to happen is it's just preparation.
Speaker B:It's really just like we're preparing.
Speaker B:This is the time we're preparing.
Speaker B:You know, we're working at it.
Speaker B:We're not spring chickens, by the way, so we.
Speaker A:Speak for yourself.
Speaker B:So we're preparing.
Speaker A:In your mind.
Speaker A:You still think you're young in your mind until you go to do something
Speaker B:and then your body says, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Speaker A:That also brings back to.
Speaker A:Because here's one thing I can tell you that we didn't do very well.
Speaker A:We used this process that we've been going through kind of as an excuse not to do different things between the move, preparing for the move, packing, getting rid of stuff, the snow, the midwinter.
Speaker A:So we.
Speaker A:We stopped exercising the way that we should.
Speaker A:We had.
Speaker A:We haven't eaten the best because we would take shortcuts either.
Speaker A:We were too exhausted to cook.
Speaker A:You were.
Speaker B:I'm sorry, but there's two people that.
Speaker A:I know.
Speaker B:I'm just saying I might be tired, but somebody else could have.
Speaker A:I was also tired, too.
Speaker A:I'm just stressing.
Speaker A:The point was, is that you do do most of the cooking, which I appreciate.
Speaker A:And, and so.
Speaker A:So we just, you know, we use those excuses.
Speaker B:We went out to eat a lot.
Speaker B:We just did not follow what we had been following for the last couple.
Speaker A:We kind of took the holidays as the opportunity to go downhill, to deflect what we were doing.
Speaker B:For me to listen to that other little person that says, yeah, go ahead and have the donut.
Speaker B:You know you want.
Speaker B:Go have the donut.
Speaker B:Don't worry about it.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:So that was.
Speaker B:But listen, I'm not gonna beat myself up.
Speaker B:No, I'm not gonna sit there and.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And say, oh, come on.
Speaker A:Part of it was.
Speaker A:Part of it was stress eating.
Speaker B:Part of it was a very stressful time.
Speaker B:Yes, it's a very stressful time.
Speaker B:This is.
Speaker B:This was a Big move.
Speaker B:For some reason, for a very emotional time as well.
Speaker B:There were lots of things going, going on.
Speaker B:I mean, in one day, I was hit with so many epic things that had occurred.
Speaker B:I just didn't.
Speaker B:I didn't even know what to do.
Speaker A:You reached out to your friend.
Speaker B:I did.
Speaker B:I reached out to a friend of mine and I said, I need.
Speaker B:If you've ever heard of this.
Speaker B:There was a long time ago, there was a story about a.
Speaker B:A guy who came up with what they called a seven minute.
Speaker B:And what you would do is if you were in stress, where you needed to vent or talk to somebody, you would say to them or text to them, do you have seven minutes?
Speaker B:And that was a code for them to know that you were in distress.
Speaker B:So that kind of like a 911 type of call.
Speaker B:But do you have seven minutes?
Speaker B:And that was enough to whatever that other person was at the other end to realize, I gotta.
Speaker B:I gotta move a few things around or I gotta go to.
Speaker B:I gotta reach out to this person right now.
Speaker B:And so I did that and I said, I need.
Speaker B:I need seven minutes.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker B:And, well, I mean, you.
Speaker B:You were good about it.
Speaker A:You were hit with a lot of things.
Speaker A:And it wasn't just about this house.
Speaker B:No, it was just one thing about the house.
Speaker B:But then there were two other personal issues that occurred that I. I wasn't.
Speaker B:I knew, but I wasn't.
Speaker B:I didn't know kind of thing.
Speaker B:And then you know for sure.
Speaker B:And then you're kind of like, what the freak is going on?
Speaker B:So it was that one day really just pushed me over the edge.
Speaker B:I was.
Speaker B:I was just tired.
Speaker B:Really, really, really tired.
Speaker B:But I also know that I'm a diabetic.
Speaker B:So I know when I'm really tired, it's because I'm not eating right, I'm not doing certain things correctly.
Speaker B:And being tired is a sign from a diabetic standpoint.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:If your numbers are really, really high, your body tends to want to shut down and go into, like, sleepy time.
Speaker B:So I knew that and I could sense it in myself that that's what was occurring.
Speaker B:And it was.
Speaker B:It was getting worse and worse and worse.
Speaker B:And so that also plays on your emotions when you're going through a lot.
Speaker B:You know, some people.
Speaker B:Don't.
Speaker B:Don't get me wrong.
Speaker B:I cried, I yelled, I was mad.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But I mean, that's.
Speaker A:That's also where it's so important to have community and to have those friends.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:You know, that.
Speaker A:That we can support and also can support Us?
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker A:You know, it's.
Speaker A:It's something that we're also learning in church as we take this leadership class that's there.
Speaker A:I think everything that's happened has now brought us to this time in our life.
Speaker A:And I think we are going to be serving and giving back in ways that we're not even aware of yet.
Speaker B:Aware of yet.
Speaker B:You're right.
Speaker A:But just to have a little faith and to believe that things are going to work out.
Speaker B:I've always had faith that things work out.
Speaker B:It's just that when you're in it and you're in the mix, you're just like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:And it's you.
Speaker A:I tend to anyways, think of the things that are not going to work out.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Or think that, like, even with the permit things, that they're going to go and discover something else when they come to do the inspection.
Speaker A:But see, my mind always goes in different places than what it should.
Speaker A:But I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks like that at times or that you run through a million different scenarios in your head.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Versus if they ask you a question, you give the answer to that question, you don't elaborate.
Speaker B:There's no reason to elaborate.
Speaker B:Stick.
Speaker B:Stick to the question and respond accordingly.
Speaker A:Also believe that things are going to work out and that you have faith in what's going to happen.
Speaker A:I mean.
Speaker A:I mean, there are times last week that I prayed about what was going on.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:You know, and that things would.
Speaker A:Things would work them way out.
Speaker A:And they did.
Speaker B:They did.
Speaker B:And they are.
Speaker B:They are.
Speaker B:They will.
Speaker B:As time goes by and we're here and you kind of get into a groove of where.
Speaker B:Of where you're at.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:I think for me, this sole transition.
Speaker B:I'm waiting to see what this season's bring.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And it's just a.
Speaker A:It's just until it closes next week.
Speaker A:It's like it's still not done yet.
Speaker A:So you still don't feel like it's.
Speaker B:It's finished.
Speaker A:It's finished.
Speaker A:We know we're at that end, so, I mean.
Speaker A:So this is our new setting.
Speaker A:I'm not sure about this yet.
Speaker B:We might.
Speaker B:We might be.
Speaker B:Our view is of the sound.
Speaker A:Let's see if I can actually rotate.
Speaker A:I don't know if you can see.
Speaker B:You can see a little bit.
Speaker B:There you go.
Speaker A:There you go.
Speaker B:There you go.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker A:So we have a nice view.
Speaker B:We have a great view.
Speaker B:We're on the top harbor.
Speaker A:Navigated this back.
Speaker B:We're at the top floor.
Speaker B:The building is, I. I think a very secure building, but like I said, it's.
Speaker B:It's a transition.
Speaker B:So we're gonna.
Speaker B:We're gonna play it out.
Speaker B:We're gonna see where it takes us.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And so we'll.
Speaker A:I may play around with the background and what we're doing.
Speaker A:We may move to another area until we settle.
Speaker A:Until we settle in here.
Speaker A:Like, I mean, like the.
Speaker A:The video that I'm seeing is down here and the camera's up here, so there's some glancing going on that I'm not sure about.
Speaker A:But what next week we will be in San Diego?
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:We may do.
Speaker A:We may do something on the road, we may not.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Otherwise we'll get back into the groove of it when we get back.
Speaker B:When we get back.
Speaker A:So on that note, we should probably
Speaker B:edit this, but we won't.
Speaker A:So until next time, you know, like us, follow us.
Speaker A:If you have questions or your ideas, let us know.
Speaker B:Give us your ideas, send them to us via the.
Speaker A:The comments and everything else.
Speaker A:And until next time, bye, guys.
