Shownotes

Timothy Mitchell is a husband, father, former landscaper turned truck driver, avid motorcyclist and colon cancer survivor who started the hashtag #BeatCancerThenRide to document his journey with cancer and inform others of his experience.

According to the American Cancer Society, Black colorectal cancer patients are about 15 to 20% more likely to die from the disease than patients of any other race. Not only do black Americans have the shortest survival rate of any racial or ethnic group in the United States for most cancers, but they also have the highest incidence of colorectal cancer with rates 24% higher in black men and 19% higher in black women compared to other races
