Be of Good Cheer – Wisdom Unplugged

Unplugged1-1024x609

Thank you for joining us for our five days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is Day 960 of our trek, and it is time for a 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. Thank you for joining me on this trek called life. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Helen Keller, and it is, “Be of good cheer. Do not think of today’s failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow. You have set yourselves a difficult task, but you will succeed if you persevere, and you will find joy in overcoming obstacles. Remember, no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost.”

Be of Good Cheer

There are few people in this world that have contributed so much to the good of the human race than Helen Keller. Yet she was significantly handicapped by not being able to see, speak, or hear. Helen Keller was able to overcome what seems like insurmountable obstacles in her life and achieved success that few have ever achieved.

First, she was of good cheer. She chose to look at life positively in spite of her difficulties. She overcame those obstacles and what some may consider failures to bring to the world much that is good. In fact, she found joy in overcoming the obstacles in life. She realized that through her effort she was able to bring beauty into her world although she could not see it with her eyes, hear it with her ears, or utter the praises that the joy brought her.

We need to practice the same. In our pursuit of success in all areas of life, we need to be of good cheer, regardless of our obstacles because no effort that we make to attain something beautiful is ever lost.

Jesus taught us in John 16:33, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

That’s a wrap for today’s Wisdom Unplugged quote. If you would like free access to my database of over 10,000 inspirational quotes, the link is available on the main page of Wisdom-Trek.com.
