Are you the type of person that focuses on tomorrow and next month and next year and you are so focused on what's going to happen next that you don't live in today? You don't celebrate the joys, the happiness, the wins of today?
If you're always worried about your next job, your next test, your next friend, your next spouse, you're not celebrating the many blessings that God has given you today.

This verse says, don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. What does that mean? If you allow whatever will happen tomorrow, just happen and not worry so much about it, things will work out. And so when you think about it, if you are so worried about...
the date that you're going on tomorrow and you're so worried about it that you get yourself in a ball of anxiety. So by the time you get on the date, you're so stressed out, you don't enjoy it. Or you're so worried about the presentation that you have been preparing for for the past month that you get in front of the room and you bomb the presentation because you're full of anxiety. I'm not saying don't prepare. I'm not saying don't do the work that you need to do.
But what I'm saying is don't worry about it. So worry and preparation are two very different things. When you are worried about something, it causes you to have a physical...
change in your body. You get anxiety. You are stressed out. You may sweat a lot more. You may eat mindlessly. You may smoke more cigarettes. Whatever you're doing, that worry is impacting you in a negative way.
So literally as you prepare for whatever is coming up tomorrow or next week or next month, prepare, prepare, study for the test, prepare for the presentation, get all cute and smell good for the date, but don't worry about it because that's God's job. His job is to cover you. His job is to ensure that you are safe.

And the last part of that verse says, each day has enough trouble of its own. So think about all the things in today that you have to deal with and focus on today. And don't just focus on the bad things of today. I want you to focus on the good. I do this exercise with my clients that are so anxious, that worry so much about tomorrow.
and I asked them to keep a win journal and in it I want them to write down three wins that they've had for each day. This isn't gratitude, these are wins. How I am winning in life today and I hear things such as, well my child didn't have a meltdown today, that's a win. I went into the meeting with my boss and my colleagues and they upset me but I didn't get angry, that's a win.
I went for a run today, that's a win. I had 20 minutes of quiet time where I was able to read a book, that's a win. No matter how big or small your win is, I encourage you each day, just write down three wins for the day, three ways that you feel like you are winning in life. And I can assure you, it will change your perspective.
It will allow you to think about as you are going through the day, how am I winning today? And not focus on the stress of tomorrow, not be anxious for anything. Let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father, today I bring to you everything that is burdening the person that is listening to this. All of the heaviness that they have on their mind, on their hearts.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of overwhelm. We rebuke the spirit of anxiety. We rebuke it in your name, Lord. And we ask today that you give us a spirit of peace, the spirit of gratitude. Lord, we ask that you give us all of the things that we've been praying for. Lord, we have so much on our heart. We have so many things that we want, that we desire, but we know that you give us only as much as we can handle.
So Lord, as we step into this next moment, as we step into our day or as we lay our head down tonight, Lord, I ask you to help us focus on our wins, the wins, the things that we are doing well and that we are proud of and that we wanna celebrate. In your son Jesus' name we pray, amen.
