This week, Ryan and Fiona take another dive into the 'Mythic Odysseys of Theros', a Greek-inspired 5e campaign setting originally created for Magic: The Gathering. This time, we look at the common playable races of Theros and their places in the world driven by the whim of a pantheon of gods:

  • Humans - the most numerous of Theros' mortal races who embody the mortal will to carve out a place for civilization from the wilds.
  • Centaurs -  half-human, half-horse people who are curious, quick to act, and knowledgeable of the wider world.
  • Leonin - Noble and fierce lion-like humanoids who rarely interact with other peoples.
  • Minotaurs - barrel-chested humanoids with bulls heads, known for venting their outrage through violence, but they aren’t generally quick to anger.
  • Satyrs - fey creatures who goat-like legs and horns, who besiege backwood paths with their trickery.
  • Triton - an amphibious people, at home in the water but mobile on dry land. with bodies are covered in fine scales and inherent curiosity.

Chapter discussed: 'Humans' (p17), 'Centuar' (p18 - 19), 'Leonin' (p20 - 21), 'Minotaur' (p22 - 23), 'Satyr' (p24 - 25) and 'Triton' (p26 - 27) 'Ch. 1: Character Creation'
