Steven Webb:
00:00:03
Welcome to A Simple Meditation for Deep Sleep. I'm Steven Webb.
Steven Webb:
00:00:16
Let's begin by settling into this space.
Steven Webb:
00:00:21
Feel the comfort of the bed beneath you.
Steven Webb:
00:00:25
The gentle weight of your covers.
Steven Webb:
00:00:30
And the quiet around you.
Steven Webb:
00:00:35
And all just surrendering to this moment.
Steven Webb:
00:00:39
And falling asleep is something you allow to happen. It's not something you make happen. It's not something you can
Steven Webb:
00:00:45
do.
Steven Webb:
00:00:46
You just allow your body to fall asleep in this moment.
Steven Webb:
00:00:54
And just become aware of your breath and
Steven Webb:
00:00:58
just let your breath go with a little sigh,
Steven Webb:
00:01:03
releasing anything you need to sleep.
Steven Webb:
00:01:09
Sleep arrives when we let go of this moment
Steven Webb:
00:01:14
And when we trust this moment is enough. We just end up falling asleep.
Steven Webb:
00:01:24
If thoughts tug you in any way, imagine them just floating past. No
Steven Webb:
00:01:31
need to do anything with them. You
Steven Webb:
00:01:34
are safe right here. Now,
Steven Webb:
00:01:38
just breathing in, calm, breathing out, relax.
Steven Webb:
00:01:48
And almost with every breath, breathing in, calm. And
Steven Webb:
00:01:53
when you breathe out, relax just the body's just relaxing a little more each time, just one percent or two
Steven Webb:
00:02:01
percent more each time. With
Steven Webb:
00:02:04
every breath, the body can relax just a little more.
Steven Webb:
00:02:08
And bring your attention to your toes and
Steven Webb:
00:02:12
let them curl slightly and hold them and then let them release and
Steven Webb:
00:02:20
feel them grow warm and loose.
Steven Webb:
00:02:25
Now gently tighten your calves as if pressing your feet into the sand and
Steven Webb:
00:02:32
hold them. And then let them go.
Steven Webb:
00:02:38
And do the same with your thighs, just squeezed lightly and
Steven Webb:
00:02:43
then release, sinking deeper. Now
Steven Webb:
00:02:47
do the same with your all of your legs, including your hips and your feet and your toes. And now
Steven Webb:
00:02:54
just let them go.
Steven Webb:
00:03:01
And now we'll do it with the arms and the belly and the chest, just tightening all of it, including
Steven Webb:
00:03:06
your hands, and just letting it go in this moment.
Steven Webb:
00:03:15
And Now we'll just gently do the neck and the face and just tensing it all up and now just
Steven Webb:
00:03:22
letting it go.
Steven Webb:
00:03:28
And now we're going to finally do every part of the body, every single muscle you know. And just when
Steven Webb:
00:03:34
you're ready, just tense everything up, really hold it tight. And now just let everything go
Steven Webb:
00:03:44
And It just floods the body with relaxation and all the chemicals it needs just to relax into this moment
Steven Webb:
00:03:55
now. Breathing in calm, breathing out, relax, Breathing
Steven Webb:
00:04:01
in peace and quiet.
Steven Webb:
00:04:03
And as you're breathing out, just deeper into sleep.
Steven Webb:
00:04:12
And just notice how the body feels
Steven Webb:
00:04:17
like it's no longer yours to carry.
Steven Webb:
00:04:20
Each limb is numb and distance as sleep just wraps around you.
Steven Webb:
00:04:27
The body's falling asleep. And
Steven Webb:
00:04:32
it's very often the body will fall asleep before the mind. That's okay.
Steven Webb:
00:04:40
The legs have already fallen asleep, your
Steven Webb:
00:04:45
arms are falling asleep, your hands
Steven Webb:
00:04:52
And all just surrendering to this moment.
Steven Webb:
00:04:56
And Falling asleep is something you allow to happen. It's not something you make happen. It's not something you can
Steven Webb:
00:05:02
do
Steven Webb:
00:05:08
you just allow your body to fall asleep in this moment.
Steven Webb:
00:05:18
And if your mind starts wandering in the story, just a little gentle smile. Thank you. But we're just here
Steven Webb:
00:05:25
peacefully, breathing in calm,
Steven Webb:
00:05:31
breathing in surrender,
Steven Webb:
00:05:33
breathing out sleep.
Steven Webb:
00:05:40
And now it's just time to let your mind follow.
Steven Webb:
00:05:45
Thoughts may drift by,
Steven Webb:
00:05:48
just like you're dissolving them in water. And the water slowly becoming clearer.
Steven Webb:
00:06:04
And just like allowing the mind to go sleep, it's like allowing the body to go sleep. You just allow
Steven Webb:
00:06:09
the foot and the leg and the body and the arms, just allow all the parts to go sleep. With
Steven Webb:
00:06:15
the mind, you just allow it to fall asleep. And
Steven Webb:
00:06:20
if a thought just come up, just ah, there's a thought.
Steven Webb:
00:06:25
I'm going to allow that thought to just carry on its way.
Steven Webb:
00:06:36
I may have thoughts. I don't have to do anything with those thoughts.
Steven Webb:
00:06:49
And with every exhale, let your mind grow quieter, emptier,
Steven Webb:
00:06:55
until even the idea of thinking even fades.
Steven Webb:
00:07:14
And as you're falling into deep sleep, you feel safe.
Steven Webb:
00:07:19
As you're falling deeper into deep sleep, you feel still. Just
Steven Webb:
00:07:24
let the silence hold you.
Steven Webb:
00:07:28
And with every breath in and every breath out, you're going deeper and
Steven Webb:
00:07:34
deeper into sleep.
Steven Webb:
00:07:38
There's no words now. There's
Steven Webb:
00:07:42
no thoughts now. It's
Steven Webb:
00:07:45
just awareness of falling asleep,
Steven Webb:
00:07:48
Just awareness of sounds. Awareness
Steven Webb:
00:07:53
of here.
Steven Webb:
00:07:55
Awareness of peace,
Steven Webb:
00:07:59
Awareness of quietness
Steven Webb:
00:08:07
In this quietness,
Steven Webb:
00:08:10
you sleep.
