Angela Frank:
The big question is how do we as entrepreneurs build wildly successful, profitable businesses without hustle, culture, burnout, or venture capital? That is a question, and this podcast will give you the answers. Welcome to The Growth Pod. I'm your host, Angela Frank.
I've been a growth marketer and entrepreneur for over eight years, and I've been responsible for generating millions of dollars in sales for the companies I've worked with. In today's episode, we're unpacking the exact thing that's wrong with marketers.
Today's topic comes from a LinkedIn post I will not share from who because I'm going to be a little bit harsh, but here is the post the simple three question test that will transform your next marketing campaign Ask yourself and your team Will this make our target audience smile? Will this make them nod in agreement? Will this make them want to tell a friend?
Nail 2 of 3 and you're creating something worthy of your audience's attention.
Now, we're a few episodes into this podcast, so I think you'll be able to find at least one issue with this post, and it's that none of these answers are revenue generating.
The purpose of a marketing campaign, which is the term that they used in the post, is to generate more sales for your business or the business you work for.
I find that all too often marketers forget this and get in the habit of throwing up whatever sounds good or looks good without giving any thought to the strategy behind what they're doing. And strategy is really what this podcast is all about, creating a strategy that could help your business generate more revenue.
There are tools that we can use to assist us in this strategy, but at the end of the day, if you're just throwing things up to have them, you're never going to make much money with your business. Instead, let's rework these questions into three actual questions that you need to ask yourself that will transform your next marketing campaign.
The first question this post asked was, will this make our target audience smile? Instead, you need to be asking yourself, will this make our target audience understand how we solve their pain?
The second question they said you need to ask is will this make them nod in agreement? Ask yourself instead. Will this entice them to click through to our landing page?
In question number three, they said, ask yourself, Will this make them want to tell a friend? Instead, ask will this make them want to take the next step in our funnel?
The purpose of a marketing campaign is to pique somebody's curiosity, entice them to click through to your landing page and convince them to take the next step in your funnel. Do not get that confused. A marketing campaign is revenue generating. These three questions that we just rephrased will help you get there.
The last question that they had was will this make them want to tell a friend? Telling a friend comes after somebody buys your product or service.
So instead of asking yourself that, focus on getting them into your door as a paying customer. First. Ask yourself these new questions when launching your campaign and base your marketing strategy in revenue generating activities.
I hope you enjoyed this episode of the Growth Pod. I look forward to seeing you in the next one.
