On the Rebbe's yahrzeit, 18 Tishrei, at Breslov of New Hempstead, Nachman Fried asks how a tiny Boro Park minyan of fifty or sixty people became tens of thousands in Uman, with no money and no campaign behind it.
He reads from Chayei Moharan the sicha the Rebbe said on the road to Uman. Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai saved the Torah from above, as the ir v'kadish min shmaya nachis. "And now there is a nachal novea mekor chochma," whose first letters spell Nachman, "from which even the ir v'kadish must receive." Then Reb Nosson's account of the histalkus: "Mah lachem lidog, me'achar she'ani holech lifneichem. What do you have to worry about? I am going before you."
In this talk:
- From 700 people to tens of thousands. Nothing is by accident, and every one is invited.
- Ikar hatzaddik hu toraso: why we're starting Torah 1 together.
- Lechu Chazu, the only Torah in Likutey Moharan with no number.
- Rabbi Yitzchak Kenig's vort on Moshe and the malach.
- Rashbi lifts us from above. The Rebbe pushes us up from below: "I already went to your place."
- A man who came back 365 days sober.
Learn the Torah, and share it.
