Shownotes

Tinika Carrington thought she wanted to be a nurse, she did hair on the side and eventually decided that working as a hairstylist was the way to go. But a chance conversation with the husband of a client sent her life in a totally new direction. She got her Commercial Driver's License and now works in the transportation teamsters union for the entertainment industry in Georgia.

Breaking into the industry is tough, and many in the majority keep the information to themselves, sharing only with family and close friends. Listen as she talks about the importance of networking and the need for people of color to break through and dispel the myth that there are no qualified people of color to work in technical and support roles in entertainment.
