Section 1

ROSLYN calls with reasons to praise God, beginning with remarkable news about her neighbor’s niece, Brittany. The family had been preparing for the possibility of her death because she desperately needed a liver transplant and receiving one appeared highly unlikely. Instead, a liver became available, the transplant was completed, and Brittany was recovering well. 10072026C ROSLYN then reflects on her own journey: one year earlier she had begun chemotherapy, but now she can look back and see how far God has brought her and Robert. Even present difficulties look different when compared with what they were facing a year ago. Dr. Dave recognizes that God has not merely brought them through suffering; He has transformed their experience into ministry, giving them an opportunity to strengthen others walking through frightening and difficult seasons.

Section 2

The biblical road less traveled includes something particularly difficult: suffering wrongfully. Dr. Dave explains that enduring injustice can be part of Christian discipleship, with Jesus providing the supreme example because every injustice He suffered was completely undeserved. 10072026C Our natural reaction when mistreated is often retaliation, especially when we know we have been wronged. Yet sometimes obedience requires stopping rather than striking back. Dr. Dave recalls Shane’s decision not to pursue retaliation because he believed the Holy Spirit was directing him to leave the matter alone. That does not establish a universal rule for every situation, but it illustrates the deeper principle: our response should be governed by God rather than wounded pride. First Peter teaches that there are times when enduring wrongful suffering because of our conscience toward God is actually commendable.

Section 3

Trust becomes the key when we surrender justice into God’s hands. First Peter says that when Jesus was reviled, He did not retaliate but committed Himself to the One who judges righteously. Romans likewise reminds believers that vengeance belongs to God. 10072026C Dr. Dave candidly remembers times when his own response was essentially, “Vengeance is Dave’s,” but spiritual growth means refusing to remain where we once were. Instead of carrying anger, frustration, and bitterness, we can ask God to replace them with compassion, grace, and mercy. We may have responded badly yesterday, but through God’s help we can respond differently today. Leaving injustice with Him protects our hearts while demonstrating genuine confidence in His character, judgment, and timing. When you have truly been wronged, faith says, “God, You saw it, You know it, and I trust You to make it right.”
