Tanya Chapter 43 By: Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz The road to reach Great Awe & Overflowing Love. There are 3 levels of Awe. Low level of Awe יראה תתאה there is קטנות & גדלות. Katnus is יראת חטא & Gadlus is from meditation of the greatness of Hashem nevertheless since it's the way ה׳ is connected to the world it's low level of יראה. Than there is חכמה in other words Torah & Mitzvot High level of Awe יראה עילאה is יראה בושת comes from חכמה as it says איזהו חכם הרואה את הנולד when you realize that all comes from ה׳ including our own existence. In love there are 2 levels. The higher level is אהבה רבה & the lower level is אהבת עולם. In אהבה רבה it's a love of delights, its automatic, it comes as a gift once your in awe of G-D as your one with Hashem. In אהבת עולם comes thru meditation of בינה of ממלא, סובב & כולא קמיה כלא חשיב so you want to connect to the source of the energy. Even though יראה goes before אהבה at times this lower level of אהבה will come before יראה as it comes from דעת that produces both אהבה & יראה however some יראה is mixed in. Even though this lower level of אהבה does not have the power to reach great heights however if you add תשובה you can reach oneness as the story with Reb Elazar Ben Durdaya.
