Hello, everyone, everywhere.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Pastor Robert Thibodeau here.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Welcome to the faith based business podcast.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Today.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:We're so blessed that you're joining us.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Hallelujah.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:It's a blessing every time we get together and study around the word of God.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:But this week we've been talking, well, past couple weeks, we've been talking about how to choose a niche for your business.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:And today's day seven.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:And I tell you what, let's go ahead and share the screen.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:We'll just jump right into this.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Praise the Lord.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:And, you know, there's two ways to look at making money, and that's to look at how other people are making money, especially in your niche, because is there room for one more?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Yesterday we looked at a lot of things, but one way to look at which niche to enter into is, you know, you look at it and say, well, you know, other people are making money.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Is there room for one more?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:To do?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:So in my niche now, my belief is there's always room for one more if you're willing to optimize so that you can do things as well or better than somebody else.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:And that's a big if in a lot of situations.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Some people like to enter markets where there's very little competition.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:They want to be the big fish in a small pond where there's only two or three people making money.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Because then I said, you become a major player in your little tiny niche.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:The problem is that, or with that is in today's marketplace, there's only a couple of competitors.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:There's probably not a whole lot of demand that's not across the board.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:But, you know, it's a general rule of thumb.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:I now there's a few ways for you to know if your competition is profitable, but many ways to imagine that they, and now, as I said, imagine they might be profitable.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:There's a big difference in those two words.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:For them to actually be profitable is one thing.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Now, for you to be able to figure it out, that's something else.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Imagine going to your local pizza shop week or so.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Last week, I think we used the example of a restaurant, let's say, let's go a little bit more basic.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:You go to your local pizza shop and you walk up to the proprietor and you say, hey, I'm thinking about opening a pizza shop across the street.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:How many pizzas do you sell on Friday night?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Now, the guy might just call the cops on you and have you arrested for trespassing.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:I mean, he's not going to give you that information.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Because that will affect his bottom line.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Well, really, if you look at it in that light, it's the same thing online.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:If someone is genuinely making money in your area of interest, they don't want you or anybody else to know.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Sometimes folks will do things that.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:That make it look like they're not generating as much money as they really are.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:They don't want the competition to know the little secrets that they have.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Is your competitor trying to trick you then?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Could that be something that's happening?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Is your competitor trying to trick you so that you stay out of the niche?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:For example, you might want to look at a particular online business.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Let's just say, let's go down another path here.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:I want to see if this person's websites are making money.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:You log on to the website, oh, man, he's running an awful lot of advertisement.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:He's not getting a whole lot of web traffic, visitors.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:So what's going on here?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau: s it and splits it up between: Pastor Robert Thibodeau:So that way, one website never looks like it's really that popular.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:So when people are researching, say, yeah, there's not much, there's not much traction there, and he just spreads it out.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:He doesn't need to brag about how many visitors he's getting.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:In fact, he doesn't want the competition to know how many visitors he's getting.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:He may be advertising on those big search engines.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:He may be advertising, you know, he may have 30 different ads running to 30 different websites all at the same time, selling those exact same thing under 30 different brand names.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Literally.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:He is creating his own competition.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:But in the bottom line, all the sales are going right in his pocket.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Now, the flip side of that, we say, yes, there are 30 different competitors.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:So this must really, really be a hot niche.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:The truth of the matter is, it's one person instead of 30.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:That person has so optimized the flow of traffic, to be honest, it'll be very, very difficult for you to break through and go head to head with him in competition.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:The truth of the matter is, I don't think there's very many situations that are really like that.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:It'd be hard to find that.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:But there are some people that do that.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Okay.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:There are some people that try that, but it's probably not as prevalent as it was, you know, way back, say, four or five years ago.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Okay, and the other option is you do enter a niche that does have a lot of competition.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:That's okay.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:That's fine.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:That's okay.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:As long as you are prepared to do what it takes to carve out your little piece of the business and then defend that niche that you just carved out.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:And that's what we're going to be talking about next time.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Praise God.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Hallelujah.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:That's what we need to be looking at is how do you carve out your little piece of the niche?
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:Glory to God.
Pastor Robert Thibodeau:That's all the time we have for today.
