It is a week before Christmas.

word of God, and I don't think that

there have ever been more distractions

and things vying for our attention.

I plan to use the purity of the

podcast platform, so there are no

ads, no distracting images, nothing

but you having the word of God read

over you, hearing how to apply it

to your lives and your families.

And then you and your kids being prayed

over all in under 10 minutes a day.

But do you think the Lord would say

he isn't calling you to be in his word

whatever your plans are for the new

year, I hope that being faithful in

the word tops the list Before I let you

go, let me explain a little bit why I

38

wanted to name this, the dwelling place.

To do that, I'm gonna read you one of my

favorite Bible verses about motherhood

40

and this is one of the things

that makes the Lord feel so near.

41

I had never heard anyone else

preach on this, and even today

42

when I look in commentaries,

there's barely anything there.

43

But once in the kindness of the Lord

as I was going through a difficult

44

pregnancy, he helped me discover a

verse in a chapter I had read many

45

times before, and it's ministered

to me ever since Psalm 84 begins.

46

How lovely is your dwelling place?

47

Oh Lord of hosts.

48

My soul longs yes faints

for the courts of the Lord.

49

My heart and flesh sing

for joy to the living God.

50

This whole chapter is about worshiping

the Lord and the pilgrimage to reach the

51

temple, but tucked in between all of this.

52

Worship is a sweet verse that can

encourage us in our motherhood.

53

Even the sparrow finds a home and

the swallow a nest for herself where

54

she may lay her young at your altars.

55

That sparrow laying her young at his

altar and then worshiping is what I

56

believe God is calling all of us to.

57

We love our children with every part

of our being, and when we trust in a

58

good, holy God, we can surrender them.

59

But if you're anything like me,

this is a process you need to do

60

over and over through different

circumstances in your parenting.

61

Maybe at this point you're in a really

sweet season and you have a little nest of

62

doves, perhaps they're pestering you a lot

and they feel more like woodpeckers and

63

maybe it's all out chaos in your home and

you feel like I am raising cuckoo birds.

Regardless.

We need the word of God to help

us in all of these seasons.

For me personally.

Without Jesus, I am a mess and I need

to keep coming back to His word over and

68

over to remind me what he calls me to

and to give me an eternal perspective.

With this Dwelling Place podcast,

you'll have three options.

First, if you are in one of the busiest

seasons or you're exhausted from just

having a newborn, you could just commit

to track one where you'll listen to

72

one of these brief episodes every day.

And since I'll be reading a section

of scripture over you in each

episode, that would be a way that

you can commit to being in the word.

And track two would be for you to

listen to these Dwelling Place episodes,

as well as listen to the chapters

of scripture being read over you.

You can do that while you're folding

laundry, doing the dishes or as you are

driving kids to and fro and track three

for those moms that have more capacity.

Would be to listen to the dwelling

placed episodes and then to also

be reading through the scripture.

I am making this a five day Bible

reading plan because generally moms

have different schedules on the weekend,

every part of this has been designed

for busy moms helping us apply

the word of God to our lives.

In every episode of the Again podcast,

whether we've talked about laundry or

meal planning, raising tab leaders or

guiding teens, we have sought to point

you to the word of God, and it's only

fitting that if our greatest, again, is

dwelling with our Savior, that we would

provide a way for you to do just that.
