EPISODE 34
For the last Summer Series Quick Tip Thursday, I will be telling you how to set effective reading goals. This may be an unpopular opinion, but none of my suggestions will include the student's reading level. Sounds scary, right? Believe me when I say there are better and more motivating ways to measure your student’s growth in reading.
I know this won’t be a surprise to you, but I’m going to recommend that you allow your students to set their goals. If you’ve been listening for a while you know how important it is for our students to maintain ownership of their reading. Once you guide them with these tips, they’re bound to be inspired to become better readers!
In this episode I share:
-Different purposes of setting reading goals
-The 3 levels of goals students should be setting
-Ways to keep students motivated to reach their goals
