Shownotes

A launch doesn’t convert. The numbers don’t land. And suddenly, it’s not just about the result - it feels personal.

In this episode, we explore the emotional weight that comes with a “bad” launch and why so many entrepreneurs unconsciously tie their worth to their business outcomes. This isn’t about fixing your strategy or pushing you to try harder. It’s about understanding the deeper pattern at play - where identity and results get tangled together.

We talk about the difference between data and self-worth, how internal narratives shape the way you experience money and business, and why it can feel so hard to receive support when you believe you have to earn it first.

If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “I did everything right… so why didn’t it work?” this conversation will meet you there. Not to rush you out of it, but to help you see it more clearly, with a little more space and self-trust.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

You've thought I'm a failure.

Speaker:

And that's what we're gonna talk about today.

Speaker:

'cause there's a distinction and a reason why we do this.

Speaker:

This is Money Simplified, the podcast where I help female

Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:

Finances, build an unstoppable business and truly enjoy your unstoppable life.

Speaker:

It's time to take my wisdom and my expertise to help you simplify

Speaker:

money and go beyond the numbers.

Speaker:

I'm your host, Aimee Cerka.

Speaker:

Welcome.

Speaker:

I'm so glad you're here.

Speaker:

Welcome back to Money Simplified.

Speaker:

We are talking today, um, about something that as entrepreneurs, we all experience.

Speaker:

All right, so several years ago I had a launch and I had.

Speaker:

I poured a lot into it.

Speaker:

I had done a lot of work on my messaging on the sales page and the

Speaker:

positioning of the offer on the backend.

Speaker:

All these things I had poured so much time and effort into it, and I'll say money

Speaker:

as well, 'cause I had specific coaches and it just felt like this is gonna land.

Speaker:

And I'll be honest, it started off like pretty well.

Speaker:

I had the highest number of signups that I had ever had.

Speaker:

For the event, right?

Speaker:

It was a masterclass.

Speaker:

Highest number of signups for the event.

Speaker:

Highest number of conversions for the VIP upgrades.

Speaker:

So like I was feeling pretty good, right?

Speaker:

So came time cart closed.

Speaker:

Zero sales.

Speaker:

Nobody bought.

Speaker:

Nobody bought.

Speaker:

And I. Had built so much into that.

Speaker:

Like I just crumbled, I felt like a complete failure.

Speaker:

I needed like a couple weeks just to kind of just crash.

Speaker:

And I know like what it felt like, what, what the heck?

Speaker:

Why, why am I doing this?

Speaker:

I've done all this work and I'm a failure like.

Speaker:

This didn't work.

Speaker:

Maybe I'm not cut out for this.

Speaker:

And when that happens, and I'd love to hear, 'cause I think a lot of us have

Speaker:

a story, at least one story like this.

Speaker:

We felt like I have done the work and I have done the work again and

Speaker:

again and again and it's not working

Speaker:

and.

Speaker:

That result there at the end became the evidence of what I secretly already

Speaker:

believed, which means I was looking for it and no number was gonna fix it

Speaker:

because I would've moved the goalpost.

Speaker:

And we do that as entrepreneurs, but we don't do that as employees.

Speaker:

At your job, and essentially what we're doing

Speaker:

is we're tying our worth in with our results as an employee at your job.

Speaker:

If the company has a bad sales week, depending on it's structured,

Speaker:

like you still get paid.

Speaker:

Your value wasn't in question.

Speaker:

Hopefully nobody's calling you a failure.

Speaker:

But in entrepreneurship, we've created this invisible like performance thing 24 7

Speaker:

where the employee, the manager, and the HR department that we're writing

Speaker:

our own selves up, but like we've tied in our worth with the results.

Speaker:

So we've made.

Speaker:

That failed launch or the debt purchase that we feel like

Speaker:

we should have known better.

Speaker:

We've somehow tied it in that like it has, it's who she is.

Speaker:

This isn't about like having high standards for yourself, right?

Speaker:

Like having high standards for yourself and high expectations for yourself.

Speaker:

It's like, I wanna do better

Speaker:

when we tie our worth into results.

Speaker:

It might not be the words we're saying, but what we're acting is I'm only

Speaker:

good enough when I make the money.

Speaker:

I'm only good enough when I have the clients.

Speaker:

I'm only good enough when I have the followers, whatever it might be.

Speaker:

But the problem becomes first off, like your worth has

Speaker:

nothing to do with your results.

Speaker:

Like you are worthy because you are worthy, you are loved.

Speaker:

Like all of those things you are, because you innately are

Speaker:

like, you are an amazing human.

Speaker:

You're here to do amazing things.

Speaker:

That's fantastic.

Speaker:

But you are wonderful because you're wonderful.

Speaker:

I,

Speaker:

and when we tie it together, like we've got to do all these things

Speaker:

to earn it, and I've gotta do this to be able to have it like.

Speaker:

You can't, you don't receive.

Speaker:

You don't receive the respo, the support.

Speaker:

How many times have you not asked for support in a coaching program?

Speaker:

Because you feel like you have to figure out this part first.

Speaker:

You've gotta earn the right to have support.

Speaker:

I don't know about you, like that's not the way my coaching containers work.

Speaker:

You don't have to earn the right to have support.

Speaker:

Like I'm here to support you.

Speaker:

Let's get the, let's give you the support that you need.

Speaker:

That's my give and your receive.

Speaker:

It's not a tit for tat thing.

Speaker:

You don't have to earn it.

Speaker:

I get to give you the support because I get to give you the support.

Speaker:

What do you think the podcast is?

Speaker:

It's a give.

Speaker:

I'm sewing into you because I enjoy sewing into you.

Speaker:

You might join the Unstoppable Experience.

Speaker:

You might not ever join the Unstoppable experience, but there also can be

Speaker:

somebody else who would join when they wanna do private coaching.

Speaker:

Like, I'm not into the group program thing, but I wanna work with you.

Speaker:

How do we do this private coaching?

Speaker:

And if that's you, that is an option, just reach out.

Speaker:

I don't advertise it.

Speaker:

I don't take on a lot of private coaching clients,

Speaker:

but.

Speaker:

We can't receive when we've tied our worth into it.

Speaker:

Compliments feel hollow.

Speaker:

Money fills all sorts of craziness, right?

Speaker:

Like it's not enough.

Speaker:

Maybe you've received something, you've got a payment, and it instantly feels

Speaker:

like it's not enough worth and money.

Speaker:

We're tying it in.

Speaker:

If success feels like it's something that you have to keep proving you're

Speaker:

still not feeling safe because.

Speaker:

You don't feel good enough, right?

Speaker:

Like we have to keep working on this thing continually when we're

Speaker:

in this pattern, this conditioning.

Speaker:

But that's not how it actually is.

Speaker:

Not hitting a launch number has nothing to do with your worth.

Speaker:

It means the launch didn't convert.

Speaker:

Those are completely different things.

Speaker:

One's data, one's identity.

Speaker:

Only one was true.

Speaker:

And it's not the identity one, maybe the next one will, who knows?

Speaker:

There's so many things that go into it.

Speaker:

You've sown those seeds, right?

Speaker:

So my invitation for you today, the next time a result lands that you feel

Speaker:

yourself going into, I'm a failure.

Speaker:

I'm not enough.

Speaker:

I have to earn this.

Speaker:

To earn the right to ask for support, I have to earn the right to do this thing.

Speaker:

I have to earn the right to be paid.

Speaker:

I have to earn the right to be loved.

Speaker:

Ask yourself, would you say this to your child?

Speaker:

If you're in the coaching space, would you say this to a client?

Speaker:

If not, why are you saying it to yourself?

Speaker:

This has kind of been a theme over the last several weeks that we've talked

Speaker:

about, like, and we started with that like we are our own worst critics.

Speaker:

We say some awful things to ourselves, so let's work on fixing that together.

Speaker:

It's a journey.

Speaker:

None of us have this figured out, right?

Speaker:

It's a continual process.

Speaker:

We are on the spiral staircase.

Speaker:

You're continuing to ascend.

Speaker:

You're growing, but new level, new devil, there's new things that show up.

Speaker:

Sometimes it's the old thing wearing new clothes.

Speaker:

And of course this is exactly the work that we do inside Money Mastery

Speaker:

Academy and the Unstoppable experience.

Speaker:

It's not just the strategy, but.

Speaker:

The mindset, the energetics, the identity work underneath all of

Speaker:

it, because we can't build a stable business, especially as entrepreneurs

Speaker:

like you are your business.

Speaker:

If you have an unstable sense of self, like the business is not gonna be stable

Speaker:

long term, you might have moments.

Speaker:

So if that's you, if you are ready, say like to say like, I'm ready for support.

Speaker:

I am tired of feeling like I've gotta earn this.

Speaker:

I'm ready for support and I'm ready for support.

Speaker:
