God is doing a new thing, but to experience it, we must step outside the "boxes" of our past—including our past successes, regrets, routines, and the survival mindsets that confine us.
Drawing from Isaiah 43:19, this text emphasizes that while our history and memories are valuable, they should not dictate our future. Even in wilderness or desert seasons, God can create paths and turn us into rivers of life for others. Rather than getting stuck in emotional exhaustion, rigid theology, or purely humanitarian causes, believers are called to be defined entirely by Jesus and to heal from past brokenness by coming directly to Him.
The bigger picture is that the church is meant to act as God’s embassy on earth—a place of healing, safety, and spiritual battle to win souls through the power of the Holy Spirit. Instead of settling for mere survival or getting lost in small details, the text challenges individuals to become active vessels for God's kingdom.
By placing a lid on the box of the past and yielding to the Word of God, believers can step into a planned, creative future where they thrive, advance the Kingdom, and confidently say "yes" to what is coming next. God is definitely doing a new thing. Can you see it?
