Shownotes

“Yes! You can change, you can change not only at the superficial level, but you can also change at the foundational, fundamental core level, you can change your very nature. It is malleable, it is not set in stone, and it is not fixated By your ancestors, your DNA, or the experiences that you've had up to now in life.”  - Kellan Fluckiger

What you are about to learn

We ask our selves, can I change? Why'd you done that? We betray, we lie, we do bad things, and we bite people and kill them. This “change” word is tough to think, especially if the ways we do become a habit. So change for us is hard.  It is a hard thought, hard one long journey. At the heart of all personal transformation processes and work is the idea of change the idea of changing yourself, changing your characteristics, changing your behavior, changing how you think, and feel about things. If it is hard to improve ourselves, then it would be true that you cannot change suddenly, everything would be pointless. And while there may be some who choose to live a life that way and approach things that way, my experience teaches me at least that it's nonsense, and that you absolutely can change!

If you can change how bad, do you want to?  Will it change how you treat somebody unless things get tough, and then I'm going to go right back to how bad I was before? Then your change is fake, and it doesn't mean anything.

Let’s first answer the big question.  Can I change? Yes! You can change,  and that's fantastic news. So when we try to change what we do, instead of who we are, it becomes superficial.

You may not know it, but we’re designed this way. We, as humans, can change—our methods, characteristics, and of course ourselves.

But let’s move back a little and discuss. What is Change?  One obvious answer is, it's just doing something or being something different than you are right now. So, let's take a straightforward definition, change is identifying where I am right now, identifying where I'd like to be, and then going there, that is changing.

Will it work for me? There is no habit, and there is no practice. There is no problem that you cannot change. Victory is yours if you're willing to start. If you're eager to move in the direction of the goal, and you're eager to keep moving no matter what, no matter what is the key because so many of us set goals to change something, health, wealth, happiness, whatever, right?

Key Takeaways:

“When you change only what you do. When you go much deeper and change who you are, how you relate to life, how you see things, how you interpret things, how you see yourself in the world, who you are and what you're about. When those things change, and the behavior changes are easy, you no longer want to do the same things because you're different.”

“Step one is to make a firm commitment. I'm going there. I'm going to make this happen. Step two is to figure out at least directionally what direction you're moving. I think it's related to that and move in that direction. Number three is to get some help. For me, it was hiring a coach getting a coach was the most effective and powerful tool for me to make the changes I wanted in my life. And number four, make a commitment to yourself that you're going to keep no matter what.”
