Shownotes

In today's show, we're reflecting on a situation that many of us can relate to - the struggle to move in the direction we truly desire. As I navigate the challenge of herding goats on my farm, it dawned on me that we often find ourselves in a similar predicament in various aspects of our lives.

Whether it's our fitness goals, entrepreneurial aspirations, learning a new skill, or improving our financial situation, we often encounter resistance when it comes to taking the necessary actions. We may seek advice from others who have achieved what we want, but for some reason, we're hesitant to follow their guidance.

It's perplexing. If we genuinely desire something, shouldn't we be more inclined to learn from those who have already achieved it? Rather than dismissing their advice, we should be embracing it as a guiding light on our journey. But instead, we often find ourselves searching for alternative routes, remaining on the wrong side of the metaphorical fence.

We, however, should not be foolish like that stubborn goat. It's time for us to recognize the importance of finding mentors and role models who have accomplished what we aspire to. Whether it's someone who has built a successful business, achieved remarkable fitness goals, or mastered specific knowledge, we should actively seek their guidance.

It's crucial that we listen to their advice, step out of our comfort zones, and consistently take action. Just like the mama goat reuniting with her babies, once we move in the direction we truly desire, we can experience the success we long for and make a significant impact.

So, let us be inspired by the words of John Lee Dumas as we embark on our journeys. According to him, the key to success lies in focusing and following one course until we achieve it. Let's adopt this mindset, seek out those who have achieved what we desire, and commit to taking consistent action until we reach our goals.

By doing so, we can break free from the resistance that holds us back, just like the mama goat overcoming the obstacles to be reunited with her babies. And in the process, we can create the meaningful, fulfilling lives we truly want and produce exceptional work.
