A dozen acquisitions, a $19 billion seed pipeline landing on the NYSE, and the first carbon credits ever issued for rescued food — the dealmakers did not take the week off.
Hormel Foods agreed to buy Brakebush, the family-owned Wisconsin maker of value-added chicken, for roughly $1.055 billion — the week's largest disclosed deal. Brakebush runs five plants and booked about $1.2 billion in net sales over the past year, with Hormel expecting to close in early fiscal 2027. It is further-processed, foodservice-ready capacity bought rather than built.
