Summary:

The believer today must build his life in the Lord if he is going to be able to stand in the spiritual warfare that comes against him. • I'm believing in your word, being so filled with the scripture that it comes automatically.
  • And I like that word gird. It means that you take the time to put on something. But if you have girded your loins with truth, nothing can go through that truth and separate it.
  • As part of the body of Christ, we are not to be tossed here and there by everything that's going around and everything that we hear and see out there.
  • ...revelation, your relationship with God, what you believe, and that being a bulwark, a wall against the fiery darts.
  • The army of the Lord that can turn back anything that Satan can throw against us because we have been prepared.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God that you may be able to resist the evil, in the evil day and having done everything to stand firm. Ephesians 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; The book of Job. Take Away:

Our strength is in the Lord. With the Word hid in our hearts, having put on the full armour of God, our defenses cannot be broken. As the fiery darts fly, deception runs rampid and physical and emotional attacks come, let our Messiah answer the door.

Ron:

We learn that we are not self exhausting in our conflicts. It is not a matter of our energy, our victory, or our position. Our strength is in the Lord. We find ourselves impregnable when we build our lives in the Lord. To me, that is talking about being in the Scriptures, spending time with the Lord alone, Worship All those things, to me, is building your life in the Lord.

Yeah. You're doing that every day. This is the purpose of spiritual armor mentioned in Ephesians 6:11-13 put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Therefore, take up the full armor of God that you may be able to resist the evil, in the evil day and having done everything to stand firm.

Dale:

We put on the full armor of God, and that full armor of God is make it made up of several different pieces, and each piece has a specific purpose, and that specific purpose, for example, the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the girding up of your loins, that is one of the focal points, you might say, because the What are they talking about?

What is in your loins that you're going to gird? You remember the old gunfighter TV shows that the gunfighters would rather get a head shot or a heart shot, get a gut shot because they wouldn't die right away. It would be a painful death. And your loins scripturaly are from your knees to the bottom of your chest.

And what is there? All your vital organs, but there's also that in there it calls your loins are the seed of your emotions, and there's a great deal of creativity connected to the loins. This is one of the areas that We grow in, and as we mature, we begin to understand the function.

Ron:

To expand that a little bit, what you're saying, Dale, the beginning steps would be to say, Lord, I put on your armor today.

But as you mature and grow in the Lord, you find out that it's much more extensive than just voicing that, there's a building of your life in the Word, in the Lord, because that building of your life in the Word, and worship, and waiting on the Lord, those avenues, it begins to protect you from Satan's lies, his darts, things he throws at you to get you upset, to make you question, doubt, because you've built your life in the Word.

That's what Christ did. He built his life in the Word. And so when he had to deal with Satan. In the wilderness, he just said to Satan, “it is written.” He didn't react emotionally. He didn't react in Himself. He knew the Word, and He was the Word. And that's what we're talking about, building ourselves in the Lord. Right. Is building ourselves in his Word, in a relationship with Him.

Debbie:

Emotions are so intensely united with this area of the loins. It's all about our emotions. We are such a people of emotions. Your emotions can be shown in worship and in exalting the Lord. The negative, that armor protects you, holds you in check, and allows the Lord to minister through you, allows Christ to come forth in you.

Ron:

A good example of this would be, so my car breaks down. Brand new car, just bought it. And the transmission goes out five days after I bought the car, right? I say it's under warranty. I go to the company and they go, actually, you didn't buy that warranty. It's up to you to take care of it. Right? So I could react, but if I've built myself in the Lord, maybe I'll have something come up saying, trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your own understanding.

Yeah. That's something that you've incorporated. The Holy Spirit's incorporated into your being. So you can go through situations like that and not react and trust the Lord that He's going to work it all out. Yep.

Dale:

What you're saying, Ron, is that the purpose of the armor of God is to cover areas of vulnerability.

And by having the armor of God on, The fiery darts, whatever comes against you is going to meet that, right? And example, how would you react? You'd react in a way that's pleasing to the Lord because you already have the armor of God on.

Ron:

When the prophecies and the revelations come, when God speaks a word to your heart, they are the greatest liberating force you will ever find from the intense emotions, which are capable of destroying you. We're talking about putting on the stuff, we're building our lives in the Lord, but there are still times that you're getting hit with the fiery darts of the enemy. When you get hit with that, what do you do with that hit?

You take it to the Word, because you're building yourself in the Lord. Everybody gets hit. There's nothing wrong with being hit. We can't do anything about that. But we can do something. about our reactions. That's right. As we go to the word to find out, Lord, how do I think about this?

Debbie:

What do you want me to do with this situation? How do you want me to respond? My emotions get hit and I almost double over with anxiety about it until the Lord reminds me of the word. Trust in the Lord. Lean not under your own understanding. It's not just words, it's life. To me, the word is life. To me. Those situations that are so in intense and are very deep and very cutting deeply, all I can do is just go, okay, Lord, here I am.

I'm believing in your word, being so filled with the scripture that it comes automatically. Right, right. And that's my defense. That's my girding of my loins. That's the way I gird myself up and gird up my emotions.

Ron:

This is the purpose of Revelation, the purpose of the Scriptures. It is the truth that makes you free. Yes. It's the truth that is a mighty protection, a bulwark against everything that comes against you. Yep.

Dale:

And I guess that's where the mind comes in because the emotions feed your brain.

Those emotions Are vulnerable, has to be addressed, and that's where we gird ourselves with truth. And I like that word gird. It means that you take the time to put on something. But if you have girded your loins with truth, Nothing can go through that truth and separate it.

Ron:

The fiery darts, when they hit us, they are not only intense, there's a level of deception that comes with those things.

And that's why the truth can dispel, not any truth, His truth can dispel the deception. Yeah. Because we're standing on that, we're standing on His truth, we're building our lives in His truth. That's what we're talking about is so important for the day we're living. Yes, it is. Because there is so much deception.

People's emotions are volatile out there about many issues. As part of the body of Christ, we are not to be tossed here and there by everything that's going around and everything that we hear and see out there. Right. That's easier said than done. If you're not building your life. In the Lord, you will be tossed. You will get caught up in some issue that's going on out there, and your emotions will get caught up in it, and you'll get caught up in it, unless you're taking the time, like Dale says, and you're girding your loins with truth. You're girding your loins with His truth. You're building a relationship with Him.

Yeah.

Dale:

One of the beautiful things about what you're saying, Ron, is that revelation, your relationship with God, what you believe, and that being a bulwark, a wall against the fiery darts. And I would say the wounds that we suffer the most, the deep wounds, are in our emotion, in our loin. Because of that, that's where We have to take extra care to be sure that we're putting on everything we can, right.

What we're doing is we're building up the strongest army of the Lord you ever saw. The army of the Lord that can turn back anything that Satan can throw against us because we have been prepared.

Ron:

How do we practically put on the armor of God? Can we read the scriptures every day? Will that help? Can we put on the armor of God?

Yeah. Can we set a time aside to worship the Lord? Yeah. Would that help us put on the armor of God? Yeah. Can we set aside some time and just wait on the Lord and listen to what He might say to us? Would that help, protect our loins? All of it would. Can we get together with and fellowship with brethren that are doing the same thing? Yeah. And with that help? There are practical ways that the Lord's given us, so it's not just some scripture that you read, but it's actually; there's things that you actually do every day, that you're actually doing exactly, what Dale was saying, what we're all saying, that we're building our life in the Lord, and that is beginning to protect our emotions, our being, from what's happening inwardly and outwardly, both ways.

Yes. Yes.

Dale:

I would say this. you gave out an excellent list, Ron, and I think at the top of that list has to be worship. Yes. All the things that Job went through, he bowed low and worshiped. And you look and see. Time after time after time, the great men of God turned to the Lord in worship. How do you do that? The first step is you humble yourself.

You humble yourself and you say, Lord, you are my God, and in You I hide. What was one of the major preparations to leave Egypt? They girded their loins with truth. They girded their loins because getting out of slavery, and being set free is very emotional. If your emotions get the best of you, you give up and go back.

Isn't that what they said? Did you lead us out in here that we would die in the wilderness?

Ron:

That's a great example right there, Dale, because we know that emotions, aren't reasonable. So here, God delivers them with all these plagues. He leads them out into the desert and they say that, did you take us out here to destroy us in the wilderness?

Why would God do that? But it's not reasonable. But that's exactly what we're talking about. You start reacting to the fiery darts. You begin making decisions and saying things that not only aren't reasonable, but they can get you in a lot of hot water, especially with God.

Dale:

When your emotions are out of control, I don't have to tell you what happens, you say things you wish you hadn't of.

Yeah. It's controlling your emotions. The control of your emotions mean that you don't react. Each day we put on the armor of God. Each day we grow. Each day when Satan comes, let Yahshua Messiah answer the door.
