It’s a Love Affair
By Tammy Lacock
“For through Him we both have access by one spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and the household of God.” (Eph. 2:18-19, KJV)
In Part 4 of Ephesians 2, Warren Litzman discusses further, in verses 18 and 19, that the moment we believe in Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior, a very real rebirthing takes place, whether we realize it or not. We are born again, not by the flesh, but by the joining of Christ’s Spirit with our spirit into one spirit. Because we are joined in one spirit, because Christ IN us is our new life, we NOW have access to our Heavenly Father! Christ IN us is everything we need to please God. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t need anything, not one thing, from us. Through Christ, we have eternal life, indeed the Kingdom of God in each and every one of us who believes. Through Christ, we are NOW sons and daughters of God, no longer far removed from Him but joint-heirs with Christ to His inheritance.
Paul’s epistles are the “constitution and by-laws” which say there is only one law, the law of Love, the love affair that is growing in our relationship to Christ IN us. He says we are no longer to know Christ in the flesh but in the spirit. And we can only learn Christ by the Holy Spirit, who has been sent to comfort and teach us, by renewing our minds and hearts in the knowledge of Him.
