As we have been studying chapter 5, it is becoming quite clear that Jesus was stating that He and the Father are equal – they are of one mind, have perfect harmony, and are of the same essence. In today’s passage, we read that Jesus states that He is the Judge, and as we know from Genesis and Psalms, God is the Judge of the earth. So once again, Jesus points out His equality with the Father and that they both shall receive honor. But Jesus also gives us a beautiful promise and a pardon from our judgement. Listen now!

My goal is that their hearts, having been knit together in love, may be encouraged, and that they may have all the riches that assurance brings in their understanding of the knowledge of the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. - Colossians 2:2-3
