Shownotes
Musician and musicologist Mike Daley talks to host Paul Romanuk about the first side of John Lennon's 1974 solo album Walls and Bridges - Lennon's so-called "Lost Weekend" album that he recorded while he was separated from Yoko Ono. Lots of cool stuff in here, including Lennon working with Elton John on the album's biggest hit, Whatever Gets You Through The Night. We also talk about a great overlooked Lennon "deep cut", the lovely ballad Bless You.
Mike also talks about his work with one of the great lead guitarists of all time, the late Jeff Healey. If you're not familiar with Jeff's work, check out this cover that he did of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. It has over 2M views.
Mike Daley's website is: mikedaleymusic.com. Lots of great stuff to see there, including Mike's extremely well researched video lecture series called The Beatles And Their World.
