Show Notes :

We serve a God of order and design. Angels play an important role in God’s plan for believers by guarding and protecting them. Protection in Scripture isn’t only physical—it is also spiritual.

Angels fall into two categories: the “unfallen” angels and the fallen angels. Unfallen angels are those who have remained sinless throughout their existence and are accordingly called “holy angels.” The fallen angels are those who sinned and rebelled against God. Satan’s rebellion is described in the Bible as a spiritual revolt driven by pride, leading to his expulsion from heaven (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-18; Revelation 12:7-9).

The apostle Paul describes the armor of God, which enables believers to resist and stand firm in the spiritual battle.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Ephesians 6:10-13

He presents the powerful pieces of the armor (vv. 14-17). Every piece is defensive except one—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation. The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, is the only offensive weapon in the list.

Head to Heart

Think about an area of your life right now where you feel spiritually under attack — maybe it's a persistent doubt, a temptation, or a discouragement that keeps circling back. Psalm 34:7 says the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him. That's not a one-time rescue; it's a standing guard. Ask yourself: Do I truly believe I'm being watched over — or am I fighting this battle alone, relying on my own strength?
